Talca (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈtalka]) is a city and commune in Chile located about 255 km (158 mi) south of Santiago, and is the capital of both Talca Province and Maule Region (7th Region of Chile). As of the 2012 census, the city had a population of 201,142.
The city is an important economic center, with agricultural (wheat) and manufacturing activities, as well as wine production. It is also the location of the Universidad de Talca and the Catholic University of Maule, among others. The Catholic Church of Talca has held a prominent role in the history of Chile.
The inhabitants of Talca have a saying, Talca, Paris & London, born from a hat shop which had placed a ribbon stating that it had branches in Paris and London. The shop was owned by a French immigrant named Jean-Pierre Lagarde.

Now, let's take a closer look at the winery itself. The Undurraga Winery was founded in 1885, and it's been producing some of Chile's finest wines for over a century. The winery has a beautiful colonial-style building with an elegant tasting room, and the grounds are surrounded by acres of lush vineyards.
The tour begins with a walk through the vineyards, where you can see the grapes growing and learn about the different grape varieties that are used to make the wines. Next, we visit the winery itself, where we see the entire winemaking process from start to finish. We get to see the grapes being crushed, fermented, and aged in oak barrels before being bottled and labeled.
After the tour, we head to the tasting room to sample some of the winery's best wines. The tasting room is elegant and spacious, and the wines are served with a variety of delicious snacks to enhance the tasting experience. We get to taste some of the winery's most popular wines, including their famous Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, and Carmenere. Carmenere was once thought to be extinct, but in the 1990s, it was rediscovered in Chile, where it had been mistakenly identified as Merlot for over a century.
Carmenere has a rich history that dates back to the 18th century when it was brought to Chile by French winemakers. At the time, it was commonly used as a blending grape, but it was eventually phased out and forgotten due to its difficulty in ripening and susceptibility to disease.
It wasn't until the late 20th century that Chilean winemakers discovered that what they had long believed to be Merlot was actually Carmenere. Since then, Carmenere has become a point of pride for Chilean winemakers and a favorite among wine enthusiasts.

Por fin pude hacer un viaje que quería hacer desde hace mucho tiempo, el servicio Terrasur, el tren Chillán - Santiago de Chile que corre diariamente y es el único tren de media distancia de Chile, pues los otros servicios de trenes que existen son más cortos o son esporádicos. Fue muy emocionante poder hacer el trayecto completo, en días anteriores había estado en Concepción, anduve en el histórico tren AES y me bañé en las Termas de Chillán, ahí en la Cordillera de los Andes.
El tren Terrasur recorre desde Chillán a Santiago de Chile pasando por las ciudades de San Carlos, Parral, Linares, San Javier, Talca, Molina, Curicó y Rancagua, cruzando todo lo que es el valle central de Chile, con viñedos y otras plantaciones, junto con paisajes de campo. Por momentos se podía ver la Cordillera de la Costa, la Cordillera de los Andes y el atardecer.
El tren es una unidad UTS444 de 3 coches, dos de ellos tienen categoría Salón (Turista, la más económica) y otro coche tiene asientos Preferente, que es la categoría más cara y donde viajé yo. Dentro del tren hay servicio de cafetería y en el video me doy el tiempo de mostrar el interior de este tren. Los UTS444 son trenes reformados que proceden de España, trabajaron durante varios años al servicio de RENFE con el nombre de UT444. El servicio es operado por Tren Central, filial de la Empresa de Ferrocarriles del Estado (EFE).

El bus es una unidad nueva, 'Marcopolo Paradiso 1800 DD New G7' con chasis 'Volvo B450R', placa LLFX24 e inscrito en Octubre 2019. El bus tiene cómodos asientos 'Salón Cama' con puertos USB, cortinas de privacidad y pantalla de entretenimiento individual para un viaje de 3 horas. El servicio incluye la atención de una azafata (o terramoza), asistente, brindan bebidas y cosas pequeñas para comer. Al final del viaje, en el Terminal de 'Talca' ('Lorenzo Varoli'), grabamos la boletería con forma de bus que tiene esta empresa y almorzamos en las cercanías de la estación de tren para continuar nuestra aventura.

Two summers ago I risked getting a $10,000 trespassing ticket to explore abandoned airplanes in Arizona. I was on a cliff jumping trip with a few friends and the temptation of the nearby airplanes was too much for us to ignore.
Luckily we were quick enough to avoid detection.
