Amazing Human Chess Game of Marostica | Vicenza, Italy | Sept. 2, 2021
Marostica is part of Vicenza province in Veneto region. Once in two years, every dual year, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the second week of September, the city holds a Live Human Chess game. The game takes place in the central square of the city and the chess pawns are live people and horses.

Esploriamo Marostica e la sua piazza scacchiera
Marostica é una deliziosa cittadina della provincia di Vicenza, alle pendici dell’Altopiano di Asiago, a due passi da Bassano del Grappa.
Peculiarità di Marostica è la piazza a scacchiera, nella quale il comune organizza la Partita a Scacchi a Personaggi Viventi, giocata s ogni secondo weekend di Settembre degli anni pari. I comandi alle milizie vengono ancora oggi impartiti nella lingua della Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia. Lo spettacolo, con oltre 550 figuranti, dura circa 2 ore.
I due castelli medievali e le mura fortificate rievocano le antiche origini del territorio.
Insomma una tappa da non perdere!!
