In a city with a lot of competition, I'm recommending 5 amazing restaurants to try in Paris. Each one is unique and deserves a coveted spot on your Paris wish list. In this top 5 list you find: a traditional 'bouillon' style restaurant in an old train station that's been open since 1896, the most fashionable cafe in Paris that's still known as the place to see and be seen, the first 24 hour restaurant in Paris that hasn't closed since 1947 (where Julia Child loved to eat), the cafe in Montmartre that Amélie Poulain 'worked at' in the movie Amélie, and the cheaper little sister to a Michelin Star restaurant. You can't go wrong with these Parisian gems!

- Around 1200, the King Philippe Auguste had a fortress built to better protection of Paris. King Charles V transformed it into a sumptuous residence.

Visiting Alexandre Dumas' Castle Monte Cristo in Le Port-Marly, near Paris France
On the height of his success, famous French author Alexandre Dumas (the three musketeers, the count of monte cristo) bought a piece of land and had the most amazing castle and dream like park built. He only owned it for 2 years before he ran out of money, but the new owner let him live there a few more years. There is also chateau d'If next to it, a writer's studio that looks like an ancient castle with a moat and that is named after the prison in the book the Count of Monte Cristo.
