BEST THINGS TO DO GUANAJUATO CITY MEXICO (Our First Impressions)
We travel to Guanajuato City for the first time and give you our first impressions along with a list of the best things to do, see, and eat! We start out walking to town and discover the cities' tunnels and it's school, University of Guanajuato. We make it to our Spanish Class School, La Hacienda Espanol, and then we get some gorditas Las Gueras, next we take the funicular (trolley) up to the top of the city for the best view and to visit the Monumento Al Pipila statue. Next we go to the Basilica De Guanajuato and the Plaza Gardens to hangout. Up Next is the Callejon De Beso or alley of the kiss where we get 15 years of good luck. One of our favorite spots is the Mercado Hidalgo where we get groceries and find Charamuscas! Last but not least we head to Jardin De La Union or the main square for an alley walk (Callejoneadas) from the Traditional Mexican Singers.

I'm taking my solo female traveling to the next level in this Mexico travel vlog! I started in Ajijic, Jalisco where I currently live. For this trip, some friends were able to drive me to the bus terminal in Guadalajara. From there, I took a 3-hour bus to Leon, Guanajuato for the Feria de Leon, one of the biggest fairs in Mexico!
This carnival was filled with scrumptious Mexican food like huaraches, gorditas, and aguas frescas (fresh fruit water). I also played lots of fair games, like my favorite one where you toss rings at Coca-Cola bottles.
It also had a massive conference center filled with hundreds of vendors selling everything from clothes to high-quality leather products to bath&body stuff and everything else you could think of! I spent hours meandering around and getting lost in the madness, walking away with a silver ring, coffee, and some tiny leather shoe keychains at great prices.
I ended my carnival day by seeing my favorite Mexican band @reik ! It was an absolutely phenomenal concert to say the least. And on my last day, I spent hours walking around the famous Zona de Piel (aka Leather District) of Leon. It's there that you can find leather jackets, boots, belts, wallets, bags, and other locally made products made of authentic leather.

San Luis is the home to Costanzo Chocolates, Enchiladas Potosinas and Huastecas (awesome comida Mexicana - Mexican food!) and the gateway to other spectacular destinations in the state such as Huasteca Potosina, Xilitla, the Edward James Garden, Real de Catorce, and Cerro de San Pedro, all of which I have visited in the past! There are plenty of things to do and places to visit in SLP!
San Luis is absolutely a growing Mexico tourism destination in Mexico. It’s even becoming more popular with expats or those wishing to move to Mexico. In this video we check out a number of the awesome churches and cathedrals, eat Princesas (Costanzos), visit Parque Alameda and more!
Many ask whether Mexico is safe or dangerous and as a result, stick to Guanajuato or San Miguel de Allende. The fact is, SLP is just as beautiful and is absolutely a viable destination! Potosinos and Potosinas are probably some of the proudest people in Mexico and will always welcome you with open arms!

We're in the city of Guanajuato in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. Today we're taking you on a massive Mexican street food tour and sharing with you Guanajuato's best local food and some of its famous regional dishes. We sample an explosive drink made up of pineapple vinegar, jamaica (hibiscus flowers) and tamarind water called cebadina, eat Enchiladas Mineras (miner's enchiladas), a guacamaya- a torta which is regional to Guanajuato and loads more. 1. Tacos al Vapor (queso, papas, costilla de res) at Tacos al vapor el jaguar. Open Monday to Saturday 8:00am to 1:00pm.
2. Pollo Especial Torta at El Pollo Non, Calle Tepetapa 9, Zona Centro, 36000 Guanajuato, Gto. Open 7 days, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
3. Limon and Carlota nieves at nieves stand on the bridge across from El Pollo Non, open from the afternoon.
4. Guacamaya at Guacamayas El Güero, Zona Centro, 36000 Guanajuato. Open 7 days, 12:00pm to 6:00pm.
5. Cebadina at stall outside hardware shop on Roque 3, Zona Centro, 36000 Guanajuato, Gto.
6. Enchiladas Mineras con pollo (with chicken) at Enchiladas de Lupe, Antigua Plaza de Gallos, Zona Centro, 36000 Guanajuato, Gto. Open 7 days from 6:00pm to midnight

Maybe 15-20 minutes by car from the center of Guanajuato City is Marfil, a suburb that's popular with families. Good schools, nice restaurants, and some of the prettiest gardens anywhere--there's a lot to love about Marfil! Whenever I need a bit of nature and a place to chill out and relax, I head to Museo Exhacienda San Gabriel de Barrera, a former silver operation that's been turned into a gorgeous garden. This is a must-see whether you're in Guanajuato to live or just to visit.

Where to stay in Guanajuato, Mexico

In Guanajuato, Mexico I stayed one night at Hotel Posada Santa Fe which I do not recommend, this hotel is outdated and requires major upgrade, you can find many nicer hotels in the same area of historical center with the same price so it doesn’t make sense staying at Hotel Posada Santa Fe. Then I changed the hotel and the next four nights I stayed at San Diego hotel which has a fantastic location and it’s a beautiful hotel, but you make sure to get a room on the top floor with balcony and the city view because the rooms without balcony do not have nice view. Most of the hotels in the middle of the historical center get a lot of noises at night because the mariachi bands play till midnight but that didn’t bother me because the city is very lively and fun at night and the Mariachi bands stop near midnight.
