The province borders Lanao del Sur to the southeast, Zamboanga del Sur to the west, Illana Bay to the southwest, Iligan Bay to the north, Iligan City to the northeast, and is separated from Misamis Occidental by Panguil Bay to the northwest. Situated within Lanao del Norte is the highly urbanized city of Iligan, which is governed independently from the province.

Another solo backpacking experience and this is the farthest I've been from my home so far!
After my Camiguin trip, I headed back to Cagayan de Oro in Misamis Oriental to go white water rafting. But unfortunately, the minimum number of pax was not met for the said activity. There were no other tourists booked for that day. Haaay joiner life.
I decided to proceed to my next plan. I made a quick side-trip to REDGs Green Village Camping Site and Wellness Hub in Naawan, Misamis Oriental and then headed to Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.
Iligan is known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls because of the presence of numerous waterfalls in it. There are 23 waterfalls to be exact, as per the local government, and we were able to visit three of them.
First, we dropped by the Paseo de Santiago, a park where you can see the iconic 'PHILIPPINES' and 'ILIGAN CITY' sign, and a relief map of the Philippine archipelago.
The next stop is the popular Maria Christina Falls, which I used to see in elementary textbooks. It is the primary source of electric power for the city's industries, being harnessed by the National Power Corporation. The place is currently restricted to tourists and not open to the public, but I was lucky enough to be allowed to take a quick peek inside since I mentioned I traveled far just to see its wonder in person.
After that, we went to Mimbalot Falls, one of the most accessible falls in the city. Located in Brgy. Buru-un, this waterfall is the most appealing to me and a very picturesque small-sized fall.
Lastly, we visited Tinago Falls, which literally means “hidden” in Filipino. This waterfall is hidden in a deep, narrow valley with steep sides, and to get there, you must descend 300+ steps. The place is a good venue for swimming and cliff diving. Additionally, there is a tiny cave alongside the falls that can only be reached by swimming or rafting.
On our way back to my accommodation, we drove along Maria Christina Bridge, where you can get a view of the cascading Agus River or the top view of Maria Christina Falls.
Overall, this was a fun and memorable experience. I cannot wait to come back to Mindanao and explore more!

Philippines Street Food in LAPU-LAPU City | BEST Place to Eat Street Food in CEBU!
Travelled via ship on a 2GO vessel from Manila to Cebu to explore food spots around Cebu. Went straight to Lapu-Lapu City to check out some Filipino street food in Opon Mercado (Lapu-Lapu Public Market). There were grilled meats, ice cream, grilled bananas, kikiam, pungko pungko on the side of the streets and refreshing drinks around the public market.
Also had the chance to attend Kadaugan Food Festival at the Mactan Shrine. Hotels around Mactan showcased their food offerings to the locals at an affordable price. Tried Mamen (fusion of Mami and Ramen) and some Balbacua.

Lala, officially the Municipality of Lala, is a 1st class municipality in the province of Lanao del Norte, Philippines.The economy in Lala is based mostly on agriculture and fishery-based type. Its main crops are rice, corn, coconut, and kalamansi (Philippine Lime). It likewise produces fishery products from marine fishing and fishpond operation in the coastal barangays along the Panguil Bay area.
The Province has a very rich and colorful history, an impressive tricultural mix, and has a teeming aquamarine life.

Mindanao 2022: Swimming at Generalao Mountain Resort in Salvador, Lanao Del Norte!
It was scalding hot, and since we couldn't swim in Cathedral Falls, we decided to check this resort instead! We visited this place on August 4, and it took us about 45 minutes to get there; you can see that the resort was jampacked though it was a Thursday, so I recommend visiting this place as early as you can.
Generalao Mountain Resort is one of the popular Public Swimming Pool located in Inasagan, Salvador, Lanao Del Norte. The water is cold, so I didn't swim; I didn't enjoy it that much, but my family did, so it was overall an okay experience.
