आज आप सभी को कौशाम्बी जिले के क्षेत्रफल के हिसाब से 10 सबसे बड़े गाँवो के बारे में बताने जा रहे हैं, कौशाम्बी बुद्ध कालीन की प्रसिद्ध नगरी है, भारत का दूसरा अशोक स्तंभ भारत यहीं पर स्थापित था, 4 अप्रैल 1997 को प्रयागराज से अलग होकर नया जिला बना। मंझनपुर जनपद का मुख्यालय है। यह स्थान अनेकों साम्राज्य का एक बहुत बड़ा केंद्र था, जैन व बौद्ध भूमि के रूप में कौशाम्बी प्रसिद्ध स्थान हैं |

भारत के उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य में कौशाम्बी जिला 4 अप्रैल 1997 को इलाहाबाद जिले से अलग होकर बना था। वर्तमान समय में कौशाम्बी जिला mein तीन तहसीलों ( सुराथू, मंझनपुर, चायाल) में बंटा हुआ। मंझनपुर इसका मुख्यालय है। यह इलाहाबाद से लगभग 50 किमी दूर स्थित है। कौशाम्बी के दक्षिण में चित्रकूट, उत्तर में प्रतापगढ़, पश्चिम में फतेहपुर और पूर्व में इलाहाबाद से घिरा हुआ है। वर्तमान कौशाम्बी जिले के कब्जे वाले इलाके का बहुत गौरवशाली इतिहास रहा है।
प्राचीन कौशाम्बी का इतिहास, रामायण और महाभारत के समय का है। कौशाम्बी, महाभारत के 16 वें क्षेत्रों में से एक है जो प्राचीन वत्स महाजनपाद की राजधानी थी। इस जगह के बारे में जानकारी रामायण और महाभारत, पुराणों में भी मिलती है। पुराणों के अनुसार युधिष्ठिर से सातवीं पीढ़ी, हस्तिनापुर नरेश निचक्षु ने, हस्तिनापुर के गंगा द्वारा बहा दिए जाने के बाद अपनी राजधानी वत्स देश की कौशांबी नगरी में बनाई थी। इसी वंश की 26वीं पीढ़ी में बुद्ध के समय में कौशांबी के राजा उदयन थे।

Kaushambi is a newly created district out of Allahabad. It consists of major towns such as Chail, Manjhanpur, Bharwari, Kashiya Muratganj, Sirathu, Karari and Kara.It is very easy to reach Kaushambi by road; it is approximately 45 km from Allahabad. This site is good for history lovers who have interest in ancient history.Many Kaushambi artifacts are in Allahabad Museum. It has a few excavated sites, including a Pillar of Ashoka with inscriptions in Pali; surrounding the pillar is a historic site of ruins of the Vatsa Mahajanapada and its university.There is a Jain derasar 14 km from Sarai Akil. The soil is very fertile and it is world-famous for the Surkha Guava. The Surkha region lies mainly in Allahabad.
