In this episode I started from Jhelum where I stayed overnight and rode to Mirpur which is the second largest city of Kashmir in Pakistan where I explored the historical RAMKOT FORT and Shrine of reknown sufi and Punjabi poet Mian Muhammad Baksh in Khari Sharif.

Mangla Lake (Azad Kashmir)
Mangla is situated in Mirpur District, Azad Kashmir at the edge with Jhelum district Punjab, with Jhelum river making the border line. Mangla is an olden town and is slated to be named after Mangla Devi. It is also the site of crossing of river Jhelum by Alexander forces in front of Raja Porus. At the time of creation of Mangla dam, towns of Baral, Baruti and Thill across the river in Jhelum district were developed as housing colonies and offices for overseas employees and officials. This has now been transformed to a armed cantonment and referred as Mangla cantonment. Mangla is positioned 10 km from Mirpur city at the mouth of the Mangla Dam. The construction of the Dam lake, which has a outer limits of 400 km, has turned it into a place of interest. The Mangla Dam water storage and power generation project was the start of the construction of jumbo projects in Pakistan. Mangla also hosts the Mangla Power Station which is second biggest in Pakistan.
As part of the Indus Waters Treaty signed in 1960, India gained rights to the waters of the Ravi, Sutlej and Beas rivers, while Pakistan, in addition to the waters of the aforementioned three rivers' sections within Pakistani territory and some monetary compensation, received the rights to develop the Jhelum, Chenab and Indus river basins. Until 1967, the entire irrigation system of Pakistan was fully dependent on unregulated flows of the Indus River and its major tributaries. The agricultural yield was very low for a number of reasons, the most significant being a lack of water during critical growing periods. This problem stemmed from the seasonal variations in river flow due to monsoons and the absence of storage reservoirs to conserve the vast amounts of surplus water during those periods of high river discharge.[4][5]
The Mangla Dam was the first of the two dams constructed to reduce this shortcoming and strengthen the irrigation system of the country as part of the Indus Basin Project, with the other being the Tarbela Dam situated on the Indus River in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mangla Water Resort is situated in Mangla Dam in Pakistan. Its world 6th largest dam and started in 1967.
It has a capacity of 1000 MW electricity generation.
Its a multi purpose dam and the primary purpose is irrigation while secondary purpose is power generation.

Went on a One day trip to Jari Kas park Mangla Dam which is situated in Mirpur City Azad Kashmir of Pakistan. Mirpur azad kashmir is also called mini London. The same road leads to Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad, Neelam Valley and Kotli. There is a best fish place in Pakistan to eat. A beautiful place to visit in Mirpur Azad Kashmir & Its one of the finest Places to visit in Pakistan in 2021. Mirpur city is located only 3 hours travelling distance from Rawalpindi. If you go by your Car or bike it only takes 3 hours max. Jari Kass park located at Mangla Dam mirpur azad kashmir is a pleasant place with a scenic view. The same road takes you to Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Neelam valley, Rawlakot, Naran kaghan and Taobutt. The fresh river water of Mangla consisting of water from River Jehlum, Kunhar and River Neelam has some really tasty fish. If you are planning a motovlog travel from Lahore to Beautiful Mangla Dam on bike, you are in for a scenic and exciting ride. Road to Mangla dam is beautiful and a great experience for motovlog. This is the episode 1 of my new Lahore to Mangla Dam Motovlog series. In this episode, I started my journey on my motorcycle from Lahore. I travelled through G.T. Road from Muridke, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sarai Alamgir, Jehlum and Dina. From Dina I took right turn towards Mangla Dam and the route to Mangla Lake takes you through some of the most picturesque areas of Pakistan.
Mangla Dam is a large dam located on the Jhelum River in the Mirpur District of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is one of the largest dams in the world and was constructed in the 1960s to provide irrigation water and hydroelectric power to the surrounding areas.
After driving for around 4-5 hours, you will reach the Mangla Dam, located near the town of Mirpur.
Overall, the journey from Lahore to Mangla Lake on a motorcycle is a thrilling and memorable experience that showcases the beauty and diversity of Pakistan's landscape
