About Mandya tourism :.
Located in Karnataka, Mandya is a sulturally and spiritually significant city. Also referred to as the land of five rivers, Hemavathi, Cauvery, Veeravaishnavi, Shimsha, and Lokpavani, Mandya is blessed with natural charm. These rivers have also made the city religiously significant. Ruled by the prominent dynasties of those times like Cholas, Gangas, Vijayanagara, Hoysalas, Wadiyars, and more, the city showcases the glimpses of erstwhile times in its incredible temples and other ancient structures. The city was primarily influenced by the Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan rule as they made Srirangapatna their capital. Prehistoric settlements like Kuntibetta, Pandavapura, and Belakavadi give an idea about the growth and progress of this region. Mandya has also found its mention in ancient Indian epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana.
Heavily dependent on agrarian economy, Mandya and surrounding areas are quite prosperous. In the 1930s, irrigation from KRS reservoir began which transformed the area and the cropping pattern followed here, resulting in excellent yields. Sugarcane is the major crop which adds substantially to the local economy. Hence, the city is also known as City of Sugar or ‘Sakkare Nagara’. The city has many attractions like water bodies, verdant gardens, ancient temples, bird sanctuaries and more that attracts tourists to come and spend some time here. There are some of the best places to visit in Mandya and spend some leisure time in the city.

Marehalli Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Marehalli, It is located 2 Kms away from Malavallli town. An ancient stone carved temple of great heritage and historic importance. The Marehalli Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple is one among the prominent Narasimhaswamy Temples in Mandya District Karnataka. The temple is in Sri Vaishnava tradition. Which is about 1200 years old built during Chola period, By Raja Raja Chola in around 10th century. Later Hoysalas, Vijyanagar kings and Hayder ali, Tippu ruled this region. This location was a agrahara.
The god Lakshmi Narasimha locally called Marehalli Mudukappa for the look the idol gets here during pooja and decoration.
There is also a Shiva temple and Shiva linga in the left corner of the temple.
This is under governance of Archeological survey of India and well maintained.

Ganalu Falls near Bangalore at Ganalu, Malvalli tourism Mandya tourism Karnataka tourism,Ganalu waterfalls located at Ganalu, Malavalli Taluk, Mandya District, Karnataka .The Shimsha river flows down to form the Ganalu Waterfalls. It is surrounded by rocky terrain, and requires little bit of trek to reach the final place. The Shimsha river further flows down towards Shimshapura Hydro Electric Plant . This place is accessible to an extent by two wheelers and and not much by four wheeler. The path to the waterfall is a narrow mud road. It is a lesser known waterfall. Not many people are around this waterfall other than locals and bikers. The waterfalls comes to life by the month of October. The view of the rocky surface of the waterfall area is equally interesting to visit, to see the kind of rough surface. One needs to be cautious while ascending and descending towards the water fall. As the rocky surface can be dangerous in case of even minor mishaps.
Distance between Bangalore and Ganalu Falls is 99 kms. It is located 45 KM from Mandya , 15 KM from Malvalli and 69 Kms from Mysore.

Mandya is a City in the state of Karnataka. It is the headquarter of Mandya district and is located 45 kilometers’ (28 mi) from Mysore and 100 kilometers (62 mi) from Bangalore. It is also called Sugar city (which in Kannada means Sakkare naadu) because sugarcane is a major crop.
Marehalli Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Marehalli Malavalli, Karnataka Tourism
Marehalli Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Marehalli, Malavalli, Karnataka tourism. Located 2 Kms away from Malavallli town.this is an ancient stone carved temple of great heritage and historic importance. the Marehalli Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple is one among the prominent Narasimhaswamy Temple in Mandya District. Belonging to the Sri Vaishnava tradition. The temple is 1200 years old.
Built during the 10th century and renovated by Raja Raja chola 1st. The temple exists amidst thick greenery in an area of around 12 acres. It is believed that long ago two sages by name Suyagna and Lambakarna performed yagnas and tapasyas where the temple exists now. The lord Narasimhaswamy pleased with their devotion appeared in their dream and assured that he would reside there. The place was earlier known was Gajaranya Kshetra. The deity Narasimhaswamy swamy locally known as Marehalli Mudukappa is also known as sowmya Narasimhaswamy.
The temple complex consists of the “Amrutheshwara” temple at the entrance two mantapas on either side of the temple. Facing the main structure is the 40 feet long Garuda Gamba and Brundawana. An Anjuneyaswamy Temple at the left followed by Pathalankana and Ganesh temple are at the main entrance of the temple. The Bhoodevi and Neeladevi deities are also worshipped here. Surrounded by 108 pillars and ankanas. The Navaranga leads to the sanctun sanctorum. Of the temple called the Shukanasini Mantapa. Where the lord is seated with Goddess Lakshmi on his left lap. Prominent among the belief is that an “Amruthakalasha” lies beneath the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi. Which when invoked with devotion full fills all desires.
Being an old agrahara during the time of Gangas, Marehalli was known as Rajasraya Vinnagaram during the time of Rajaraja I (985-1012 AD) of the Chola dynasty. With the victory of the Hoysalas over Cholas at Talkad, the agrahara passed to them and was subsequently ruled successively by Vijayanagara, and later by the Wodeyars of Mysore, Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan in that order.
The temple built during the reign of Rajaraja Chola has on plan a garbhagriha, an antarala and a mukhamandapa in east-west orientation enclosed by a pillared prakara. In the sanctum, is enshrined an image of Lakshminarasimha. The temple subsequently was renovated and restored during the Hoysala and Vijayanagara periods. The temple has an imposing mahadvara of the typical Vijayanagara style. Another small Siva shrine is present to the north-east of the complex. Delineating Chola features, it contains an inscription on the foundation. It comprises of a garbhagriha preceded by an antarala and navaranga. Above the sanctum is a squattish Dravida vimana of brick and lime. The entrance leading from north and a pillared mandapa to the south-east are other edifices in this complex.

Ganalu Falls is located at Ganalu, Malvalli Taluk, Mandya District, Karnataka .The Shimsha river flows down to form the Ganalu Waterfalls. It is surrounded by rocky terrain, and requires little bit of trek to reach the final place. One needs to be cautious while ascending and descending towards the water fall. As the rocky surface can be dangerous in case of even minor mishaps.
Distance between Bangalore and Ganalu Falls is 99 kms. It is located 45 KM from Mandya , 15 KM from Malvalli and 69 Kms from Mysore.

Birotta watch tower is located 100km from Bangalore it is a old watch tower built by the Karnataka Forest department to watch over the biigest elephant corridor in south India across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka very close to Shivana Samudra / Ganalu falls. The Beautiful and Unknown Kundura Betta is about 59KM from Mysuru and 117KM from Bengaluru.12Km from Malavalli taluk. Set in the lap of nature, this is a great place to escape from the city.Awesome peaceful divine place.This place offers trekking adventure with Rashasideshwara temple at the bottom. One has to climb the hill via the mud steps and rocky trail in order to reach the Mallikarjuna Temple which is at the top of the hill. Around temple there is lot of greenery.Temple is small but fantastic views from the top. You will find lot of Peacocks at this place. Overall Lovely place for trekking
