Tekoniya Eco Park & Picnic Spot | Tekoniya, Mathabhanga, Cooch Behar | Tekoniya Park
Tekoniya Eco Park and Picnic Spot is one of the popular tourist destinations of Cooch Behar. Tekoniya or Tekuniya is located at Mathabhanga in the district of Cooch Behar. Every year thousands of tourists from all over the district come to visit Tekoniya forest and Tekoniya Picnic Spot. As Tekoniya is mostly known as picnic spot, number of tourists increase during winter, Specially from December 20 to end of January. Distance between Tekoniya picnic spot and Mathabhanga is about 6 km. Its distance From State highway 12A is around 1 km. Take a left turn from Kalibari immediate after crossing Mansai Bridge. Tekoniya picnic spot is located by the river of Jaldhaka, popularly known as Mansai in this area. It's shape is like a triangle, that's why it is named 'Tekoniya'. The main attraction of Tekoniya picnic spot is a deep and dense forest as well as an eco park where you can find peacocks, rabbits, different types of birds, different types of flowers and trees. Tekoniya picnic spot is also popular among the bird lovers. Different types of birds are there both inside the forest and on the river bed. Tekoniya forest will not disappoint you if you come here for spending quality time with friends and family.
