MAP OF ST MARTIN

greetings my friends. this is a map of Saint Martin. The island's traditional pre-colonial name is Oualichi which means the island of women. Saint Martin has a land area of 87 km2 , 53 km2 of which is under the sovereignty of the French Republic, and 34 km2 under the sovereignty of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This is the only land border shared by the French Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The main cities are Philipsburg on the Dutch side and Marigot on the French side. The Dutch side is more heavily populated. The largest settlement on the entire island is Lower Prince's Quarter, which is on the Dutch side.

The highest hilltop is the Pic Paradis at 424 metres in the centre of a hill chain on the French side. Both sides are hilly with large mountain peaks. This forms a valley where many houses are located. There are no rivers on the island, but there are many dry gullies. Hiking trails give access to the dry forest that covers tops and slopes.

The island is located south of Anguilla and is separated from that British overseas territory by the Anguilla Channel. Saint Martin is northwest of Saint Barthélemy and is separated from that French overseas collectivity by the Saint-Barthélemy Channel.

Neighbouring islands include Saint Barthélemy , Anguilla , Saba , Sint Eustatius Statia , and Saint Kitts and Nevis. With the exception of Nevis, all of these islands are easily visible on a clear day from St. Martin. thats all. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.

#stmartin #caribbean #caribean #caribe #mapschool #mapsolo #petamap #cartemap #kartemap #mapamap

Best Places in Bavaria (New Version)

No other German state has such a diverse landscape and such a distinctive and down-to-earth culture as the Free State of Bavaria. In addition to the charming nature with the highest mountains in Germany as well as huge lakes, idyllic river valleys and even large plains, the Bavarian customs in particular determine the charm of this unmistakable region. Strictly speaking, there are actually two regions. Bavaria is divided into Upper and Lower Bavaria and the Franconian regions in the north. Upper Bavaria and the Alpine region are, of course, particularly well-known throughout the world. The entire state is therefore often equated with the traditional rural architecture, the wooden houses decorated with carvings, Bavarian facade paintings and flowering balcony boxes, and the cultivation of old customs. #bavaria #germany #bestplaces

Main article: Hurricane Irma
The NHC began monitoring a tropical wave over western Africa on August 26.[109] The disturbance entered the Atlantic late the next day,[110] gradually organizing into Tropical Storm Irma west of Cabo Verde around 15:00 UTC on August 30.[111] Early on August 31, Irma underwent a remarkable period of rapid intensification, with winds increasing from 70 mph (110 km/h) – a high-end tropical storm – to 115 mph (185 km/h), a major hurricane, in a mere 12 hours.[112] An eyewall replacement cycle then took place shortly thereafter, which caused the storm to fluctuate between Category 2 and 3 intensity. [113] Irma resumed intensifying on September 4, and was upgraded into a Category 4 hurricane by 21:00 UTC. At that time, hurricane warnings were issued for the Leeward Islands.
Current storm information
As of 5:00 a.m. AST (09:00 UTC September 5), Hurricane Irma is located within 10 nautical miles of 16.6°N 57.0°W, about 320 miles (515 km) east of the Leeward Islands. Maximum sustained winds are 130 knots (150 mph; 240 km/h), with gusts to 160 knots (185 mph; 295 km/h). The minimum barometric pressure is 937 millibars (hPa; 27.67 inHg). The system is moving west at 12 knots (14 mph; 22 km/h). Hurricane-force winds extend up to 40 nautical miles (45 mi; 75 km) from the center of Irma, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 120 nautical miles (140 mi; 220 km).

Prague Vacation Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations

The capital of the Czech Republic is also called ‘the golden city’, the ‘mother of cities’, but its most fitting name is the ‘city of 100 spires’. In the old town there are the towers of the City Hall, the Tyn temple and the Magazine. The puppet play of its famous Astronomical clock is marvelled at by thousands every hour. The Jewish district is famous of its old cemetery and the Synagogue. The Charles Bridge with its 30 statues lead to the other side of the Vltava. The other part has plenty of very good restaurants. The green dome of the Saint Nicholas Church can be seen above the citizens houses. The Prague Castle is one of Europe’s most beautiful castle districts with gothic, renessaince and baroque palaces, with a royal palace, parks, temples. Whoever visits Prague, won’t forget the Wenceslas Square and the famous pubs the ‘U Kalycha’ and the ‘U Fleku’. While wandering on the medieval streets we understand why this place became the setting for the legends of Dalibor, Faust, Rabbi Löw and the Golem.

Navy Pier: A Century of Reinvention with Geoffrey Baer

Join Geoffrey Baer as we explore iconic Navy Pier’s story. Since it opened as Municipal Pier in 1916, Navy Pier has been evolving in response to the changing needs of a city on a Great Lake — Chicago. Originally, Navy Pier was a port for steamer and shipping traffic. It promoted Chicago’s progress to the world, presented concerts and conventions, and once hosted a trade fair that enticed a visit from the Queen of England. The Pier’s history spans the terms of 17 United States presidents, including one who trained as a fighter pilot there; 18 Illinois governors, including one who went to college there; and 15 Chicago mayors, including its first African-American mayor, who held his inauguration there. The Pier served as a training center in both world wars, and was the one-time Chicago home of the University of Illinois. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Navy Pier launched the city’s signature ChicagoFests. And since the mid-1990s, the Pier has drawn crowds as an amusement destination, tour boat embarcadero, and home to a children’s museum and Shakespearean theater. As it has from the beginning, the Pier provides Chicago’s city dwellers and visitors alike the chance to stroll over half a mile near Lake Michigan, and view the majestic Chicago skyline from a unique, and very close-up, perspective. In 2016, to coincide with the celebration of its 100th birthday, Navy Pier underwent a major renovation and embarked on an ambitious program to ensure a greener, more sustainable urban landscape.

Viking included tour of Trier, Germany during Cities of Light Cruise (1 of 3)

This is part 1 of 3 showing our Viking included tour of the city of Trier, Germany July 27, 2019 during a Cities of Light tour from Paris to Prague. This video includes most of the bus ride, especially when the tour guide is talking and also includes the walking time where you can hear what the guide is saying about the next site. This is the included tour which is the basic tour and is always a good tour. The reason for the bus ride at the beginning is we had to berth some 12 km east of Trier near Schweich and hence the bus ride in and out of town to get to and from the ship. Very nice tour I thought with interesting and historic sites.

Germany’s Frankfurt and Nürnberg

Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide © 2016 | Skyscraper-studded Frankfurt — with so much commerce it’s nicknamed “Bankfurt” — has a delightful-to-explore old center. We'll also visit Nürnberg, a capital for both the First Reich (the Holy Roman Empire) and the Third. From its towering castle and playful fountains to its Nazi Documentation Center and maze of underground bomb shelters, Nürnberg is a fascinating study in contrasts. #ricksteveseurope #frankfurt #nuremberg

Paris, France - Video Tour of Le Marais Neighborhood (Part 2)

Today we are going to finish up our tour of a great Paris neighborhood -- the Marais. This is the second of our two-part series on the fantastic neighborhood of the Marais in Paris. If you haven't yet watched the first part, you can find it on our YouTube channel :

The Marais used to be an important center of Jewish Paris and is still today to a certain degree. You can see the unique Agoudas Hakehilos synagogue designed by Hector Guimard at 10 rue Pavee, which used to be the one of the main Jewish streets in Paris. You can pick up some tasty pastries at the various Jewish bakeries or grab a falafel at the famous l'As du Falafel (34 rue des Rosiers)!

Further down the street is Chez Marianne, a better option for a sit down meal. Patrons can make their own tasting menu of Eastern Mediterranean delicacies such as hummus, grilled eggplant and vine-leaf dolmas.

The fact that the Marais has become a trendy area with cool boutiques does have something to do with the rise in its gay population. At night, you'll have trouble finding space at two of its most popular bars -- the Open Café at 17 rue des Archives and the Raidd Bar at 23 rue de Temple.

If you'd like to experience the Marais like a true local, you should definitely rent a vacation rental or furnished apartment. There's no better way to experience this city than to live in a real Parisian apartment.

Check out this fully furnished 2-bedroom apartment located in Marais( ), it would be great for your stay in Paris. This accommodation offers a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher, a washing machine in the apartment, wood floors throughout and a flat screen TV with a DVD player.

Or take a look at this furnished studio Paris apartment ( ). The apartment is furnished with a double bed and a sitting chair and would be a great home for anyone on their Paris adventure!

If it's shopping you're after, this is the place to be -- from antiques to vintage dresses to the coolest designer shoes! Check out the streets around the Haut Marais/Upper Marais to see what's really going on.

If you are staying in an apartment in the Marais you can pick up some delicious French specialties. In the Upper Marais check out the international samplings at the Marché des Enfants Rouges, the oldest Market in Paris.

Tartes Kluger, an inventive savory and sweet tart restaurant is perfect for a light, but tasty lunch on the go.

If you're looking for delicious French, head to L'Ambassade d'Auvergne, where you'll sample excellent food from the volcanic Auvergne region

For vegetarians staying in the Marais you'll find creative dishes, salads, quiches, and other surprises at this tasty spot.

The Marais is also bustling in the evenings. The lower half of rue Vielle de Temple has several lively cafes and bars including:

Le Pick-Clops (16 rue Vielle de Temple) -- a great place for apero with their free popcorn, they also have some nice light meal options.

The Lizard Lounge (18 rue du Bourg Tibourg) -- head down into the basement to hang with a fun international crowd. Happy hour until 10 pm and fun dance tunes until late

There is plenty else to see and do here. If you can think of any of your favorite Marais secrets, please share them with us in the comments box below.

Be sure to visit our web-site ( ) and to book a vacation rental ( ) or furnished apartment ( ) with New York Habitat. You'll find furnished apartments all over Paris!

Feel free to watch other video tours such as this about Les Grands Boulevards ( ).

Also, be sure to check out our blog, if you want more information about this great area :
