10 Most Hated Towns in England

What are the most hated towns in England? No matter how good a country is, every part of it can’t be loved equally. In fact, some parts of it are bound to be hated. Even the most fanatic lover of a country will love some parts of it less than others. I have heard some people complaining about some towns in England, the home of the Queen that some people are dying to live and work in. That prompts research into the 10 most hated towns in England.
This ranking is based mainly on the comments and complaints of residents of England and visitors to those towns. But it’s not limited to that since some complaints can be completely baseless. We dig deeper in researching these 10 most hated towns in England.
10. Slough
Let’s begin with Slough, a town in Berkshire, within the historic county of Buckinghamshire. This town is 20 miles west of central London and 19 miles northeast of Reading. You will find the town in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolis around the area at the intersection of the M4.
In spite of its location, Slough according to those visitors, is a town whose streets are littered with empty takeaway and full of packets or empty beer cans. This assertion hasn’t been contradicted by even just one resident. The quality of food in the town’s restaurants appears, kind of, made for losers who’re just out to eat as much unhealthy food as they can get away with.
9. Scunthorpe
It’s not desirable to find Scunthorpe among the most hated towns in England. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to take it out of our list because the facts obviously place it there. This industrial town in the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire should normally be the pride of Lincolnshire as its main administrative center. But the town with an estimated population of 82,334 in 2016 had many things going against it.
Residents of the UK’s largest steel processing center, also known as the Industrial Garden Town, are frustrated by a lack of the liveliness and diversity in the town only known for work. However, the loudest grouse that lists Scunthorpe alongside the most hated towns in England is the indiscriminate censorship and blocking of websites for spurious reasons.

Loughborough Canal Walk - British Canals VIDEO TOUR (Leicestershire, UK)

Doing the Loughborough Canal Walk!

A waterside walk from Loughborough to Leicester along a section of the Grand Union Canal and the River Soar. It's about a 13 mile route, so it's possible to do in a day. At the end of the walk you can get the train directly back to Loughborough from Leicester.
The walk starts on the canal just to the east of the train station. You can access the towpath from Moor Lane Bridge and then follow it south east towards the village of Barrow Upon Soar.

The route continues through the lovely Soar Valley to Mountsorrel and Syston, where you pass through Watermead Country Park. It's a real highlight on the route with 12 lakes, wildflower meadows, woodland, grassland and reedbeds. Look out for a whole host of wildlife on this section of the walk.

The final section takes you through Birstall and Belgrave, before finishing at Abbey Park in Leicester. It's a lovely finish to the walk with the attractive park including formal gardens, a sensory garden, a boating lake, a model boat lake, a miniature railway and pretty bridge over the River Soar.

Loughborough Walk: Town Centre【4K】

Located in the East Midlands county of Leicestershire is the town of Loughborough.

The town was granted a charter for a weekly market in the year 1206 during the reign of King John. During the Industrial Revolution Loughborough, for a brief period, was a producer of lace. In 1808 John Heathcoat, an inventor from the neighbouring county of Derbyshire, patented the Bobbinet - a machine that automated lace production. In 1816 his factory was attacked by Luddites, with just over 50 machines destroyed. So appalled was Heathcoat by this that he moved his entire operation to Tiverton in Devon - nearly 200 miles away.

In 1841 Loughborough became the destination for the world's first package tour, organised by none other than Thomas Cook (yes, THE Thomas Cook). He arranged to take a group of campaigners from the Temperance Society (i.e. anti-alcohol) from the nearby city of Leicester to a teetotal rally in Loughborough. They paid one shilling each for the return train journey. Not exactly Tenerife but you have to start out somewhere in the package holiday business.

In 1909 Loughborough Technical Institute was founded. This was promoted to university status in 1966 by royal charter. Loughborough University, in addition to being one of the top universities in the country, has arguably the richest sporting heritage in the UK. Alumni include Steve Backley, Paula Radcliffe, Tanni Grey-Thompson and current chancellor Sebastian Coe.

Our last day in Loughborough town with our daughter! ‖ Ester Beatty

We spent our last day with our daughter in the centre of Loughborough before heading to Salisbury, Wiltshire in the South of England.

Both our children are going to Loughborough University to continue their post graduate studies for the next 3 years, both will be studying PhD in different fields. Matthew just finished his BS in Systems Engineering and Cathrine finished her Master's degree in this University.

Loughborough is in the borough of Charnwood, in the county of Leicestershire, a busy market town with a vibrant history. It is the largest town in the county and has a population of over 55,000.
The town provides the student essentials, with plenty of open space, gardens, shopping and entertainment. The location is also ideal for exploring the cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby, as well as being close to a variety of tourist attractions such as the Peak District, Sherwood Forest and the National Space Centre.
The town is close to some fantastic countryside. Charnwood gets its name from the rocky Charnwood Forest to the west, which was recently replanted to create the heart of the National Forest. It contains some of the oldest rocks and fossils in Britain.
In the centre of the area is the broad flat plain of the River Soar, and to the east are the rounded rolling hills of the Leicestershire Wolds - with some of England's loveliest and most unspoilt villages.

Top 5 Reasons NOT to Move to Derby

The reasons you should know moving to Derby and why living
in derby & derbyshire will make your life worse than Birmingham.

Derby and Derbyshire were among the centres of Britain's Industrial Revolution. In 1717, Derby was the site of the first water-powered silk mill in Britain. Derby has a green belt area defined to the north and east of the city, first drawn up in the 1950s, to prevent convergence with the surrounding towns and villages. Derby's climate is classified as warm and temperate. The rainfall in Derby is significant, with precipitation even during the driest month.
