Day Trip to MOUNT OLYMPUS! | Thessaloniki to Litochoro
Today we marked off another big item on our bucket list for Greece, which was to see MOUNT OLYMPUS!! We were convinced we had to book a tour from Thessaloniki but turns out you can actually do it yourself with just a little extra effort. We ended up saving a descent amount of money because of this so hopefully this video helps anyone who is wanting to do the same!

MOUNT OLYMPUS in Litochoro, GREECE Λιτόχωρο Ελλάδα
Litochoro is a town and a former municipality in the southern part of the Pieria regional unit, Macedonia, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it has been part of the Dio-Olympos municipality, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit.
It is located at the base of Mount Olympus, on the western shore of the Thermaic Gulf. The first recorded mention of Litochoro is in an account of a visit by Saint Dionysius to Mount Olympus in the 16th century.
The town is a popular destination for those wishing to climb Mount Olympus as almost all climbing routes begin to the southwest of the town. One of the most famous Litohorians was Christos Kakkalos, who first ascended first Mount Olympus in 1913.
Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece. It is part of the Olympus massif near the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea, located in the Olympus Range on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, between the regional units of Larissa and Pieria, about 80 km (50 mi) southwest from Thessaloniki.
Mount Olympus has 52 peaks and deep gorges. The highest peak, Mytikas (Μύτικας Mýtikas), meaning nose, rises to 2,917 metres (9,572 ft).
It is one of the highest peaks in Europe in terms of topographic prominence.

Az üdülőfalu
Paralia fiatalos, nyüzsgő üdülőfalu, lüktető éjszakai életével, számos szórakozási lehetőségével, bárjaival, klubjaival, hagyományos görög konyhát felvonultató tavernáival, számos apró üzletével. A hosszú homokos, fokozatosan, lassan mélyülő tengerpartja mind a kisgyermekes családoknak, mind a fiataloknak, mind az idősebbeknek remek kikapcsolódást ígér. A vízisport lehetőségek széles palettája az aktív kikapcsolódást keresők részére nyújt felüdülést. Az egykori kis halászfaluból mára a riviéra egyik jelentős települése lett, fejlődése az 1980-as években kezdődött és máig tart.
Nevezetességei
Legfőbb nevezetessége az 1993-ban St. Paraskevi (Görögül: Αγία Παρασκευή) tiszteletére emelt ortodox keresztény Agia Fotini templom.

Solo hike on the E4 Trail in Greece & Crete ???? ???????? A Walk Across Europe 9
In this penultimate stage of my walk across Europe, I set out from Thessaloniki to follow the E4 Trail down through the Peloponnese Peninsula and across the island of Crete. However, things gets off to a bad start and I end up using public transport to link Mount Olympus, Meteora and Delphi.
