Linkou District (林口區) is a district in the northwestern part of New Taipei City in northern Taiwan. The name Linkou translates to forest mouth.
As of February 2023, Linkou District had a population of 128,929, an increase of over 41% compared to the population in 2011 – giving it one of the fastest population growth rates in New Taipei City. Linkou has a land area of 54.15 km², including many forested areas and canyons.

WHAT TO DO IN TAIWAN IN A WEEKEND || travel vlog
We flew on EVA Air to and from southeast Asia. The main hub for the airline is in Taiwan, so both flights connected through the city. We wanted to explore another spot and decided to extend our layover giving us a weekend in Taiwan. With less time than most of the other locations, we picked the top spots and packed it all in!
Once we arrived at the airport, we took the train directly to our hotel, the Four Points by Sheraton in Linkou. We arrived late so we grabbed some room service and crashed for the night.
The next day we first explored Lungshan Temple in Taipei. The place was originally built in 1738, but has been rebuilt a number of times since then and is meant for Bhuddist worship. After the temple, we explored a fresh market on the way to went to CKS Memorial Hall. The Memorial Hall was constructed in honor of a former President of the Republic of China. The Hall shares a square with the National Theater and the National Concert Hall. The gardens and grounds nearby had the Koi pond and beautiful water features.
Our next stop was again through another fresh market and to Taipei 101. The building has an incredibly fast elevator that takes you up near the 89th floor in under 40 seconds. The top floors have amazing views of the city of Taipei.
We headed back to the hotel and enjoyed some pool time with some awesome views. We ended on an awesome note enjoying an authentic Shanghai style meal at China Spice inside the restaurant. We were able to enjoy a bunch of the Asian cuisine before our departure back to Chicago.

Taiwan is a small country with a population of around 23 million people. But, it still has the second-highest GDP in Asia. Linkou is an area with a lot of factories and warehouses. There are also many small restaurants, convenience stores and all kinds of shops.

This aerial filming footage shows you the surrounding area of A9 Linkou Station in New Taipei City, Taiwan, which connects to the Taoyuan International Airport and additional Taoyuan City stops in the west, as well as eight stops to the east ending at Taipei Main Station, on Taoyuan Airport MRT line.
Since the latter half of the 2010s, Linkou has been undergoing a period of rapid population growth and land development relative to other nearby districts. As of October 2020, Linkou District had a population of 120,370 and one of the fastest population growth rates in New Taipei City. Linkou has a land area of 54.15 km², including many forested areas and canyons. Mitsui Outlet Park is the biggest shopping mall in the Linkou area. It offers recreational international brands stores, movie theaters, and restaurants.
