In this Salento Puglia Italy travel vlog we have our first tiny home experience, staying in a traditional Italian Trullo home. This is a must do in Italy and one of the top things to do in Pulia. We managed to find this luxury tiny home for the budget price of just 35 euros and were blown away by how awesome it was both inside and out!
Trulli are protected under UNESCO world heritage law and can only be found in the Puglia region of southern Italy, near Salento.
This unique tiny house accommodation feels like living in a cave, with it's cone-shaped roof and stone walls. Staying in a Trullo is definitely a unique Italian experience that we would recommend to anyone!

Leuca è una frazione del comune di Castrignano del Capo, in provincia di Lecce, nel Salento meridionale.
Rinomata località turistica, è il centro abitato posto più a sud dell'intera provincia di Lecce.
Il clima è mediterraneo, mitigato dalla presenza del mare. Gli inverni sono tiepidi e abbastanza piovosi, le temperature medie giornaliere di gennaio e febbraio si mantengono attorno ai +10 °C, con minime medie sui +7/+8 °C e massime comprese tra +12 e +13 °C. Le brinate alcune volte avvenute ma sono molto sporadiche e comunque di lieve intensità, le nevicate sono del tutto inusuali. D'estate la temperatura aumenta notevolmente fino a raggiungere valori medi di +24/+25 °C tra luglio ed agosto, con minime medie di circa +20 °C e massime di +28/+29 °C, spesso abbinate a tassi di umidità molto alti che possono provocare condizioni di afa che però sono quasi sempre stemperate dalle brezze diurne. Temperature più alte, fino a +35 °C e talvolta oltre, sono possibili in occasioni di forti ondate di calore africano che, se abbinate a venti di scirocco, portano condizioni di clima torrido. Il clima di Leuca è comunque ventilato, gradevole, con scarse precipitazioni e cieli quasi sempre sereni per gran parte dell'anno.
La devozione dei fedeli verso la Madonna di Leuca ha origine antica: si parla di un grande miracolo che avrebbe salvato i pescatori il 13 aprile del 365 da una burrasca.
L'attuale struttura fortificata della chiesa venne costruita tra il 1720 e il 1755 da monsignor Giovanni Giannelli per resistere ai numerosi e ripetuti attacchi da parte dei predatori turchi e saraceni.

The sun-kissed old town of Lecce is a small but very picturesque place in the Italian region of Puglia, on the Salentina Peninsula. The locals call this capital of the province of the same name: the Athens of Puglia - for the fact that the ethnic Greek minority lives here, and South Florence - for the abundance of architectural monuments in the Baroque style, and the Golden City - for the limestone rock mined here, which acquires a golden hue as the years pass. Most of the buildings here are made of this stone, and they all glow golden in the sunlight.
St. Orontius is considered the patron saint of the city - many churches and temples of the city are dedicated to him. He was the first bishop of Lecce, and according to legend - a disciple of the Apostle Paul himself and a martyr, who repeatedly suffered for his faith and was later rewarded for it. Lecce is a prime example of a city with a true Italian way of life. Despite the fact that the population barely reaches 100 thousand inhabitants, and during the day on weekdays there reigns peace and quiet, on weekends the city revives, people flood the streets, there are interesting processions and street performances, restaurants and nightclubs open.
Rose-golden Lecce has an unmistakable style, with monuments dating back to Roman times and, most notably, its extraordinary 17th-century buildings that proudly bare the characteristic blonde colour of the local stone. The atmosphere is vibrant and bustling. During the day, you can while away the hours sunbathing on its beaches, only a few kilometres from the city. In the evening, the city centre will entice you with its elegant, timeless alleyways and delicious local delicacies.

Day 6 of The Cammino del Salento, Puglia, Italy 10 May 2022
The final day of the walk was mostly along the coastal road or the rocky coastal paths. A day of more adventures along the way. I saw beautiful rocky coastal scenes with natural pools, caves and geological structures carved by the sea and weather.
The day was sunny and hot and was strenuous at times but knowing I was coming to the end of my pilgrimage energised my whole being. Each step was taking me closer to my final destination, Santa Maria di Leuca.
This pilgrimage has taught me many things. I have been inspired by the determination of persons of advanced age (an 81 years young man) who had started his track from Rome having walked hundreds of kilometers carrying his backpack and stick; a couple accompanied by a dog; groups of friends who encouraged each other to venture out of their comfort zone and experience another way of living for a few days. Each had their own story to tell and their reason for participating in a pilgrimage to the end of the ancient world. From S. Maria di Leuca people started their pilgrimage to Rome or to Jerusalem in the ancient times. Now the modern times is rediscovering the joy of participating in such sacred pilgrimages to rediscover one's innate strength and qualities. At the end of the journey we find out our true hidden self which had waited for the right time to reveal itself.
