Solina is a village in Lesko County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in south-eastern Poland. It lies approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) south-east of Lesko and 80 km (50 mi) south-east of the regional capital Rzeszów. In 2011 the village had a population of 426.
It is best known for the tallest water dam in Poland, the Solina Dam, which creates the biggest artificial lake in Poland, Lake Solina. There is no industry left after the liquidation of the Hydrobudowa site near the dam. Main employer is PGE, owning the hydroelectric plant in Solina. Local people highly depend on tourist income in the summer by renting rooms, running restaurants and bars and selling souvenirs. On the east side of the dam there are a lot of attractions open during summer, such as water sport equipment rental, a port with tourist ships, amusement park, disco and beach. Clean air and natural scenery are all around, bringing many visitors in the summer. The few hotels of various standards and local B&B's often are fully booked.

Według danych z 2011 roku miejscowość zamieszkiwało 426 osób.
Do 30 grudnia 1999 Solina była siedzibą gminy Solina (siedziba przeniesiona do Polańczyka).
W latach 1975–1998 miejscowość administracyjnie należała do województwa krośnieńskiego.
W pobliżu wsi znajduje się Jezioro Solińskie powstałe w 1968 poprzez spiętrzenie wód rzek San i Solinka. Przed powstaniem zapory i elektrowni wieś znajdowała się w miejscu obecnego dna zbiornika.
Solina jest ośrodkiem sportów wodnych i przystanią dla statków.

Obecnie Solina jest miejscowością bardzo chętnie odwiedzaną przez turystów, największe oblężenie można zaobserwować przede wszystkim w okresie letnim.

The name of the village comes from the Solinka river that was meeting the San river in the village before the creation of the lake. The original Solina village was located up the San river but due to the Solina lake creation it lies under water now. Today's Solina was created along with the water dam on the grounds of the small village of Zabrodzie.
The original Solina village was one of the oldest villages in the Bieszczady mountains. It was first mentioned in 1436 as a village owned by the family of Kmits from Sobien. At the end of the 15th century it was subject to the Wallachian law again. There were three main ethnic groups living in the village until World War II: Boyko (Ukrainians), Jews and Poles.
During the Holocaust most Jews were taken away to concentration camps by Nazi Germans occupying Poland. Another ethnic group of Boyko were forced by the communist government to move to the Soviet Union or west of Poland during the Operation Vistula.
The Polish people that were left were moved in 1960 to the village of Berezka because of the Solina Dam creation.

Lake Solina (Polish: Jezioro Solińskie) is an artificial lake in the Bieszczady Mountains region, more precisely in Lesko County of the Subcarpathian Voivodship of Poland.
The lake was created in 1968 by the construction of the Solina Dam on the San River. It has an area of 22 square kilometres (8 sq mi) and contains 472,000,000 cubic metres (617,000,000 cu yd; 383,000 acre⋅ft) of water, making it Poland's largest artificial lake.
It is the best known tourist attraction of the region, with waterside villages like Solina, Myczkowce and Polańczyk catering to watersports enthusiasts. The lake's great depth, water clarity, and mountainous scenery makes it a very popular destination. The lake has been nicknamed the Bieszczady Sea.
Jezioro Solińskie położone jest na północny-zachód od Bieszczadów jest to największy w Polsce sztuczny zbiornik wodny retencyjno-energetyczny. Jezioro powstało, by chronić Dolinę Sanu przez grożącymi jej powodziami. Pomysł powstania w tym miejscu zalewu zrodził się już w okresie międzywojennym. Ostatecznie zbiornik powstał w 1968 poprzez spiętrzenie wód Sanu i Solinki przez zaporę.
Zapora na Jeziorze Solińskim ma 81,8 m wysokości i jest najwyższą zaporą w Polsce. Waga zapory przekracza 2 mln ton. Poniżej zapory znajduje się elektrownia wodna. Jezioro Solińskie ma powierzchnię 22 km2, długość ponad 26 km i rekordową pojemność 472 mln m3. Linia brzegowa jeziora liczy sobie ok. 156 km, a jego głębokość sięga miejscami 60 m. W wodach zbiornika występuje duża rozmaitość ryb, znajdziemy tu głównie sandacze oraz okonie, ale również duże okazy boleni, leszczy i płoci.
Jezioro Solińskie posiada trzy wyspy: Duża Skalista i Mała zwana Zajęcza, oraz Wyspa Zjawa wynurzająca się jedynie przy wyjątkowo niskim stanie wody. Wzdłuż linii brzegowej jeziora powstały liczne ośrodki wczasowe stałe i sezonowe obsługujące turystów. Rozwinęła się też infrastruktura agroturystyczna. Jezioro Solińskie stało się dużą atrakcją turystyczną w Bieszczadach. Duża atrakcja dla turystów jest zwiedzanie zapory wodnej, na której spiętrzenie wody sięga 60 metrów.

Bieszczady na motocyklu 125 - Lesko i Sine Wiry
Drugi pełny dzień w Bieszczadach podczas tego wyjazdu. Pierwszego dnia jeden z samochodów wsparcie (ten mniejszy) lekko się popsuł. Akcja serwisowa w Hoczwi i szybkie tankowanie z zakupami w Lesku. Po powrocie do Kalnicy wyruszyliśmy na krótki spacer do Sinych Wirów. Niesamowite miejsce, chociaż wody troszkę mało było.
