Sous-préfecture du département, Grasse, la cité provençale du parfum, est la première étape de ce périple, à la découverte des richesses du terroir. Puis, direction Vence, où le peintre Henri Matisse séjourna, et sa région, parsemée de villages typiques. L'odyssée s'achève au Parc national du Mercantour, l'un des plus sauvages de France, où des passionnés œuvrent à la préservation des espèces animales et végétales. Créé en 1979, ce paradis pour randonneurs abrite des gravures rupestres datant de la préhistoire.

Une fois n'est pas coutume, c'est dans une ville que notre périple au fil du Rhône nous emmène, celle de Vienne, située dans la Vallée du Rhône à 30 kilomètres au sud de Lyon. On la dit riche de quelque 2000 ans d'histoire, avec plus de 40 sites et monuments classés. Ce qui lui a permis, depuis 1990, d'être labellisée Ville d'art et d'histoire par le Ministère français de la Culture.

The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux is the fine arts museum of the city of Bordeaux, France. Established in 1801 by the painter Pierre Lacour, it is one of the largest art galleries of France outside Paris.
The museum is housed in a dependency of the Palais Rohan in central Bordeaux. Its collections regroup paintings, sculptures and drawings. The painting collection is the largest one and its strong points are works by French and Dutch painters. The museum holds several paintings that were looted by the French during the French revolution (so-called 'saisies révolutionnaires') such as the Martyrdom of Saint Georges by Peter Paul Rubens

This video is our walk around a part of St Gingolph - a very pretty town on the French-Swiss border. We were only able to visit a part of the city because of the self-isolation rules at the time, so you'll the French part and only a glimpse of the Swiss one.
It still was a lovely day and a lovely walk and we absolutely enjoyed the scenery with mountains and the lake!

- 0:35 this small river -La Morge- creates a natural border between France and Switzerland.
- 0:40 Switzerland is to the right, and France- to the left of the river.
- 0:50 It may sound strange that the town is cut in half this way. This is due to the historical struggles between Savoy and the Swiss in this area.
