Of all the seaside towns located on the Côte d'Albâtre, Le Tréport is the one which still lives the most at the rhythm of the sea. The commercial port, the marina but also the fishing port attract many visitors who like to stroll along the quays and in the small streets of this fishing village. Welcome to our little channel, in this, the tenth video in our French adventures series, we travel out to the Normandy coast and visit Le Trèport, we tackle filling up with gas (LPG/GPL) for the first time in France, we use the spectacular Funicular railway to get from our cliff top aire to the town, we get wind swept walking the promenade before buying moule (mussels) from the fish market for lunch.
We are looking forward to sharing our three weeks of travels in La Belle France exploring the Champagne region in Haute-de-France.

1. Winning tip: the Alabaster coast, Normandy
The GR21 running 186km from Le Havre to Le Tréport takes in Normandy’s classic coastline, green countryside, architecture and second world war sites.
2. PICARDIE/NORD-PAS-DE-CALAIS, Le Tréport cliffs
The cliffs around Le Tréport are some of the highest in Europe and a walk along them gives great sea views and bracing winds to energise you for a circular walk.
3. Etangs du Romelaëre, near Saint-Omer
This wetland in Pas de Calais offers great walking all year round, with lakes and marshland perfect for spotting migrating birds.
4.NORMANDY With Claude Monet to Pourville
Follow Monet, turn your back to Dieppe and walk west on the clifftops two miles to Pourville-sur-Mer.
5. Forêt d’Eu
The Forêt d’Eu, near the Picardy border, is the perfect place to get away from the crowds.

Le Tréport est une commune française située dans le département de la Seine-Maritime en région Normandie.
Le quartier des pêcheurs, quartier des Cordiers tient son nom des «Cordiers». Ces pêcheurs trop pauvres pour pêcher au filet, pratiquaient la pêche au moyen de longues cordes garnies d’hameçons avec des vers de mer. Montés sur une barque, cinq à six hommes accrochaient 500 à 600 hameçons sur des cordes de 700 à 1000 mètres.

The fishermen's district, Cordiers district takes its name from the Cordiers. These fishermen too poor to fish with a net, practiced fishing by means of long ropes lined with hooks with sea worms. Mounted on a boat, five to six men hooked 500 to 600 hooks on ropes of 700 to 1000 meters.

Im 1. Teil nehmen wir euch mit an den Küstenabschnitt zwischen Le Tréport und Fécamp. Sehr zu empfehlen ist ein Besuch der Destillerie Benedictine in Fecamp. Alleine das Gebäude ist schon außergewöhnlich, aber auch der dort hergestellte Kräuterlikör hat uns geschmeckt.
