How small are the smallest towns in one of the least populated states in America? Take this trip around The Sunflower State with me as I visit all of the top-10 smallest towns in Kansas (source 2019 US Census estimates). This is one of the most enjoyable trips I have taken! Even though these places are barely dots on a map, they all have a history to be told and hold a certain type of charm and beauty for people like me. Wilmington is a port city in North Carolina. It’s known as a gateway to Cape Fear Coast beaches like Wrightsville, with its strong surf, and Carolina, with its long boardwalk. Part of downtown’s Historic District, the Riverwalk is lined with restaurants, galleries and shops. It runs along the Cape Fear River, where the Battleship North Carolina is moored. Artifacts on the ship explore WWII naval combat history.
Wilmington was settled by the English along the Cape Fear River. The city was named after Spencer Compton who was the Earl of Wilmington. Its historic downtown has a 1.75-mile (2.82 km) Riverwalk, developed as a tourist attraction in the late 20th century. In 2014 Wilmington's riverfront was ranked as the Best American Riverfront by readers of USA Today. It is minutes away from nearby beaches. The National Trust for Historic Preservation selected Wilmington as one of its 2008 Dozen Distinctive Destinations. City residents live between the river and the ocean, with four nearby beach communities: Fort Fisher, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, all within half-hour drives from downtown Wilmington.
Wilmington is the home of EUE Screen Gems Studios, the largest domestic television and movie production facility outside California. Dream Stage 10, the facility's newest sound stage, is the third-largest in the US. It houses the largest special-effects water tank in North America. After the studio's opening in 1984, Wilmington became a major center of American film and television production. Numerous movies in a range of genres and several television series have been produced here, including Maximum Overdrive, Iron Man 3, Fox's Sleepy Hollow, One Tree Hill, Dawson's Creek and NBC's Revolution.

The Audubon Trolley Station, Brookwood Historic District, Carolina Heights Historic District, Carolina Place Historic District, City Hall/Thalian Hall, Delgrado School, Federal Building and Courthouse, Fort Fisher, Gabriel's Landing, William Hooper School (Former), Market Street Mansion District, Masonboro Sound Historic District, Moores Creek National Battlefield, Sunset Park Historic District, USS NORTH CAROLINA (BB-55) National Historic Landmark, James Walker Nursing School Quarters, Westbrook-Ardmore Historic District, Wilmington Historic District, and Wilmington National Cemetery are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Wilmington boasts a large historic district encompassing nearly 300 blocks. Abandoned warehouses on downtown's northern end have been recently demolished making room for multi-million dollar projects, such as the World Headquarters of Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) and a state-of-the-art convention center. Local's Guide to Hendersonville
Hendersonville is known around the state as one of Middle Tennessee's top communities for families. With a top-ranked school system, plenty of parks and lakefront shoreline, and unique shops and restaurants all less than 20 miles from downtown Nashville, Hendersonville is a neighborhood to be considered by homebuyers.
One thing that is evident is a sense of community. The town hosts several annual events such as a 4th of July fireworks show and a Christmas parade, plus regular concerts, movies in the park, and theatrical productions. The Streets of Indian Lake, perhaps the best place for a night out, is home to an array of shops, restaurants, dancing (is that the right term?) fountains for kids to cool off in, and a movie theater. Also close by is the Hendersonville Cruise-In car show takes place on warm Friday nights. There is always something to see and do around town.
There is no shortage of restaurants to choose from in Hendersonville. If you're craving Mexican, locals recommend Casa Vieja or Rio Bravo; for a great steak, consider the Chop House; Avanti Gourmet is a quaint Italian restaurant and deli; or across from Creekwood Marina grab some Pizza at Saunders Ferry Pizza & Pub. You can even pull your boat up to the Rudder at Anchor High Marina.
It's also easy to lead an active lifestyle in Hendersonville. The town offers a variety of parks with pavilions and sports fields, a network of greenways for walking and biking, and has a thriving soccer club. Old Hickory Lake is perfect for fishing, boating, and relaxing, and has 26 miles of shoreline and convenient marinas. For fans of boating and golf, the Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club may be worth a membership and is a favorite weekend location for many locals.
Hendersonville is a part of the Sumner County public school system which is consistently ranked for their academics, extracurricular activities, and athletic programs. The town also has quality private schools as well as homeschool options.
If you're looking for a small town with big city convenience and opportunities, look no further than Hendersonville. With an impressive school system, an active sense of community, and plenty of events and happenings, this is one town you will love to call home.

Is Warner Bros Studio Tour In London still worth going to?
The Making of Harry Potter is a walkthrough exhibition and studio tour in Leavesden, South East England, owned by Warner Bros. and operated by their Studio Tours division. It is located within Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden, in Watford, in southwest Hertfordshire, and houses a permanent exhibit of authentic costumes, props and sets utilised in the production of the Harry Potter films, as well as behind-the-scenes production of visual effects. The tour is contained in Soundstages J and K, which were specially built for the attraction, and is separate from the studio's actual production facilities
opened to the public in 2012 and has since welcomed up to 6,000 visitors a day during peak times. TripAdvisor reported that Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter has been the highest-rated attraction worldwide every year since the tour opened!

We spend the day visiting Fort Fisher - home of the largest amphibious assault on US soil prior to WWII. Until the last few months of the Civil War, Fort Fisher kept North Carolina's port of Wilmington open to blockade runners supplying necessary goods to Confederate armies inland.
By 1865, the supply line through Wilmington was the last remaining supply route open to Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. When Fort Fisher fell after a massive Federal amphibious assault on January 15, 1865, its defeat helped seal the fate of the Confederacy.
Approximately ten percent of Fort Fisher still stands along with a restored palisade fence. All tours of the grounds begin in the visitor center. This recently renovated facility contains an audiovisual program that presents the history of the fort. New exhibits are currently being designed for the visitor center. The North Carolina Underwater Archaeology headquarters is also located on the property.
Our next stop was the historic city of Wilmington.
The Wilmington Historic District is in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina. The district developed after Wilmington was laid out in 1737, and includes notable examples of Queen Anne and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed City Hall/Thalian Hall and Alton Lennon Federal Building and Courthouse. Other notable buildings include:
