Today, we’re going to tell you why Veracruz is the best state in Mexico. And we’re doing that from the Port of Veracruz during the most exciting time of year: Carnaval de Veracruz!
Veracruz Mexico is where you will find the Port of Veracruz, the oldest and most important seaport in Mexico. In this video we are going to walk around Veracruz taking you to the zocalo and down to the malecon where we learn about the history of Veracruz through it’s many buildings, and the oldest cafe in Veracruz, El Gran Cafe de la Parroquia where we will sip on it’s specialty Cafe Lechero! Of course we make time for a seafood lunch as Veracruz Mexico is known for their seafood dishes and check out the Veracruz beaches.

Cruzando en balsa la frontera de México y Guatemala por el Río Suchiate
Cruzamos de México a Guatemala por el Río Suchiate, la frontera natural que se extiende por los dos países y desemboca en el Océano Pacífico.
Lo hicimos en balsas hechas de madera y llantas de tractores. Una práctica que se ha desarrollado por décadas, inclusive desde antes de la delimitación de nuestras fronteras.
Salimos de Tapachula rumbo a Ciudad Hidalgo, la puerta más al sur de México, en el camino nos maravillamos con la riqueza de toda esta zona llamada el Soconusco, gran productor de plátano y mango.

One of my favorite beaches in the state of Veracruz in Mexico is located in the small seaside village of Montepio. It is inconveniently located so you will not find many (if any) foreigners hanging out there.
Plus, at the time I made this video (2018?), there was no reliable internet or cell service. So that made it even more attractive ... no distractions from the outside world.
If you go there, grab a cold one and tell them (in Spanish, of course) that Mike sent you. The folks there will probably not know who the hell you are talking about but ... then again ... maybe they will. : )

Chichonal Volcano | Mexico | Cinematic 4k
Chichonal volcano (El Chichón) is an active volcano located in the mountainous regions of the state of Chiapas, Mexico.
This giant erupted back in 1982, the water contains sulfur giving it a green color, the hike was around 2.5 hours but it was a long ride to get to the volcano I hope you like this cinematic video of our journey!

Stumbling upon Maya ruins
While hiking and camping along the Mexican Caribbean coastline near Tulum I came across a small Maya structure off the tourist route in an undeveloped area with no trail leading to it. A small piece of unspoiled Maya heritage on the Mexican Riviera.
