Let's Visit Lapeer, MI
Located in the southern part of the Thumb of Michigan, Lapeer is a great city with a lot of history and nice parks. Lapeer is also the county seat of Lapeer County which is home to the oldest courthouse in the state of Michigan which is still in use today. Although the judicial offices have moved next to the courthouse, the courthouse is still used for tours and events such as weddings (I apologize for not clarifying that in the video).

Visiting Downtown Clarkston Michigan | Small Downtowns
Today, we are continuing our small downtown's series by visiting Clarkston Michigan. Clarkston Michigan is a rather small downtown located in Oakland County Michigan right on M-15. Even though it is a small city (smallest city in Michigan by land area) there were plenty of interesting things for us to explore.
We didn't get to go into any shops nor eat at any restaurants because we arrived at a 3 o'clock and all the shops closed by 3 and non of the restaurants, with the exception of Honchos, opened up until after 4 p.m. That didn't stop us from doing a bit of window shopping and admiring all of the buildings in town. We even were able to located some window artwork that looked very familiar to some we have seen in other Michigan towns, such as Oxford, Lake Orion, and Lapeer Michigan. I'm really beginning to think they are done by the same artist or team of artists.
Both Lindsay and I loved visiting the small town of Clarkston and would encourage you to check it out if you are in the area. Thanks for watching.

Pure Tuscola County, Michigan
Take a quick tour of Tuscola County in Michigan's Thumb Area. Tuscola County is one of the gateways to the Thumb Area of Michigan, which is often the forgotten peninsula of Michigan! Michigan's Thumb Area includes the counties of Huron, Sanilac and Tuscola, and is outlined by Saginaw Bay on its west shoreline and Lake Huron on its east shoreline. The Thumb Area is a great 'staycation' for Michiganders and Canadians. We're just a short drive north of the metro Detroit area and only a half hour east of the Great Lakes Bay region. Getting here is easy and can be done on a tank of gas for a weekend adventure! We're about a 2-hour drive from metro Detroit, Lansing or Sarnia (Ontario). Simply travel up M-53 or M-24 from the metro Detroit area, come across M-46 or M-81 from the Saginaw area, or cruise along the shoreline on M-25 from Port Huron or Bay City.
