LaGrange is a city in and the county seat of Troup County, Georgia, United States. The population of the city was estimated to be 30,305 in 2019 by the U.S. Census Bureau.[5] It is the principal city of the LaGrange, Georgia Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Gainesville, Georgia-Alabama (part) Combined Statistical Area. It is about 60 miles (97 km) southwest of Atlanta and located in the foothills of the Georgia Piedmont.[6]

LaGrange is home to LaGrange College, the oldest private college in the state. Started as a girls' academy, it has been affiliated since the late 19th century with the Methodist Church, and what is now the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. The city's proximity to West Point Lake, a few miles to the west, helps attract bass fishermen and water sports enthusiasts to the city.[7]

It is also the hometown of rapper and songwriter Warren Anderson Mathis, also known as Bubba Sparxxx, best known for hiphop and country rap.[8]

The Troup County Courthouse, Annex, and Jail, built in 1939, is one of LaGrange's properties that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

-----------

Lookout Mountain lies partially in three states: Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee, rising to nearly 2,400 feet above sea level. It's a broad, steep-sided flat-topped mountain reaching north to the doorstep of Chattanooga, and is home to tourist attractions including the caves of Ruby Falls, the heavily advertised City of Rocks, an incline railway, and Civil War points of interest, along with Cloudland Canyon State Park.

In this episode we'll camp at the East Rim Campground in the State Park, hike the Waterfalls Trail which descends a 40-degree slope via a 600-step staircase to reach Cherokee Falls and Hemlock Falls, hike a portion of the five-mile West Rim Loop Trail with the family of Tom Bradshaw of the YouTube channel CampTravelExplore, move to the Marion County Park campground on Nickajack Lake and do some kayaking, and venture into Ruby Falls Cave to see if their 140-foot underground waterfall is worth the price of admission. Meanwhile, the Bradshaws check out nearby DeSoto Falls, just across the state line in Alababa's DeSoto State Park.

ABOUT US

Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, always filmed in stunning 4K.

We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and dog Zoe are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on YouTube, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're long-timers who tend to hit the road for weeks or months at a time, while maintaining a sticks-and-bricks home in Utah.

We'll provide beautiful travel videos, as well as some tips and insight on trip planning, and equipping and maintaining your RV to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

High Falls State Park Campground Tour & Fun, Georgia (RV Living) 4K

In our full-time travels in our RV, on our way to eastern Canada, we camped at High Falls State Park near Athens and Macon, Georgia. With its historic ruins, falls, and hiking trails, this campground gave us plenty to do. This is why we love camping in state parks in our Grand Design Solitude fifth wheel.
In this video, we show you the ruins from the abandoned 1900s-Hydropower Plant & Grist Mill, the dam, and of course the waterfalls. High Falls became a ghost town in the 1880s when a railroad came through and bypassed the town. And we also do a full campground tour, showing every single campsite on the river side and the lake side (RVs, tents, & Yurts) - along with the amenities- like boat ramp, pool, hiking trails.
See the chapters below to skip to the section you want.

Lanett to Tuskegee, Alabama

Driving in the South Bound Direction to Tuskegee, Alabama, you will gain an hour and move on to Central Eastern Time.

Cusseta Alabama

Cusseta is a city in Chambers County, Alabama. Situated between Opelika and Lanett, it was named for the ancient Creek Indian town of Cusseta. The community was believed to be unincorporated until 2006, when rediscovered documents indicated that Cusseta had been incorporated as a city in 1853. As the community diminished in size over the years, its status was forgotten.

Eastern Alabama Roadside Attractions - & Cheaha Mountain, Forgotten Small Towns, Old Haunted Bridge

#alabama #roadtrip #roadsideattractions

Hey guys! On this video I take another trip to Alabama, this time to see many roadside attractions and more along the eastern border of the Yellowhammer State. I also visit the high-point of Alabama, Cheaha Mountain.

Also a note this video was filmed in late September, so the leaves are still green, and it is windy due the large wind-field of hurricane Ian.

Hey guys, I'm Emily. I am a student with a penchant for story telling, video production and direction. I do mostly travel videos but I do have the occasional foodie, game, and challenge videos! Thanks so much for watching!

Reclaiming Historic Fairfax Mill in Valley Alabama

Our most unique video yet shows the reclaiming process in a whole new light. The quality of timber and bricks isn't what it use to be in the 1800's and early 1900's and there is high demand for that type of quality. That's where Southend Reclaimed comes in, they specialize in reclaiming old timber and bricks for beautiful homes. We would like to thank the Cobb Memorial Archives in Valley Alabama for providing us with the historic images from the mill. *Please watch in the highest resolution and in full screen*

Touring Duckett Mill Campground (Army Corps of Engineers)

When we first began our journey toward learning how (and where) to RV, we sourced information about possible campgrounds by watching YouTube videos about the specific park we were considering. These became invaluable resources, especially the drive-through or walk-through types that showed specific sites that would include the site we were considering.

In an effort to pay it forward, we've tried to do the same for some of the campgrounds that we know don't have that type of video available on YouTube.

So if you're planning a trip to Duckett Mill Campground, an Army Corps of Engineers park in Gainesville, GA, this video offers a drive-through of most of the sites around Lake Lanier. (Unfortunately we missed about 30 sites in the numbered 100+ range because our camera was not recording when we thought it was. Our apologies.)

Hopefully you'll get a great sense of the beauty of the campground, the amazing Lake Sydney Lanier on which it's located, and the wonderful surrounding area.

Ashland Alabama

Ashland, the county seat of Clay County, Alabama, was formed by an act of the Alabama General Assembly on December 7, 1866. Less than a year later, Ashland was established as the county seat on land donated by Hollingsworth Watts for the construction of a courthouse. Ashland was incorporated in 1871 and was named for 19th century statesman Henry Clay's Kentucky estate home.

This is part 3 of a three-part series on the Clay County Alabama area.
