Sitting at the westernmost tip of the Algarve, Sagres is the wildest and most untamed destination. Windswept, barren landscapes, towering cliffs, and rough waters are what set this place apart.

Visit the Portimão museum if you want to learn more about its fishing and canning tradition, or go to the medieval Fort of Santa Catarina de Ribamar for panoramic views. But the biggest draw is undoubtedly Portimão’s nearby Praia da Rocha.
8. Faro & Ria Formosa
From cobblestone streets and cozy squares to a wide range of lagoons and wetlands, Faro boasts a blend of city and nature activities. We really enjoyed a boat tour in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, which is home to canals, marshland and small islands.

7. Aljezur & West Coast Beaches
With wide-open beaches and sheer sea cliffs, the West Coast of the Algarve is a true hidden gem. It’s also another prime destination for surfing. We recommend Arrifana Beach if you’re a beginner or intermediate surfer.
6. Fishermen’s Village Ferragudo
With its white houses reaching down to the river, walking around this authentic fishing town is an experience in itself. But Praia Grande is also a great place to relax and enjoy watersports.
5. Lagos & Ponta da Piedade

3. Silves
This historic town cascades down the hill, flowing out from beneath the beautiful Silves Castle (Castelo de Silves). Enjoy your time learning about the town’s history inside the castle walls as well as on the cobbled streets surrounding it.
2. The 7 Hanging Valleys
This 12km out-and-back hike takes between 4 to 6 hours to complete if you do the full route, and includes views of the Atlantic ocean as well as limestone rock formations. There is some elevation gain and loss as you climb up and down each of the valleys, but overall the hike is easy to moderate.

The Benagil Cave is a world-class natural attraction in the Algarve. Although it’s only a short distance from Benagil Beach, you still need a kayak, stand up paddle board, or guided boat tour to reach the caves safely.

Lagoa is on the western side of the Algarve, southern Portugal, and is home to some of the most beauitful and iconic beaches in the Algarve. One in particular, Praia da Marinha, is the most famous; it's on many postcards and advertisements due to the M rock formation.
Other beaches in the region include Praia de Albandeira, Praia de Carvoeiro and Praia de Benagil, all have brightly coloured cliffs and inviting, crystal clear waters.

Today we go to Lagoa de Albufeira????????
It is Portuguese lagoon located in the municipality of Sesimbra in the parish of Castelo. Sesimbra is in Setúbal part of Portugal. It is about 40 km away from Lisbon. Place is amazing and I recommend to visit ✅️ Also take swimwear...cool place for swimming and go back to childhood.
The lagoon is fed by the fresh water of the Apostiça, Ferraria, Aiana streams and by the salt water of the Atlantic Ocean , when the dune is officially opened in the spring . Lagoa de Albufeira is made up of three lagoons: the Large, the Small and the Estacada. Upon reaching a maximum depth of 15 meters, the Lagoa de Albufeira is considered the deepest in Portugal.
Surrounded by pine forests around perimeter. The calm waters and the wind create conditions for the practice of windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing. Sought after by countless families with children, traffic can be chaotic on weekends(in summer). So go off-season ????
On platforms in the middle of the lagoon there are mussel ponds.
Since 1987 it is in the National Reserve , being a zone of protection for birds????[WK]

Life in the Algarve Ep.3 - Lagoa
In this video we take you round the wonderful municipality of Lagoa, in Portugal’s Algarve region. We explore the towns and villages of Lagoa, Ferragudo, Carvoeiro, Estombar and Porches, which are popular places for both holidaymakers in Portugal and those looking to move to Portugal.
We show you some favourite spots along this part of the Algarve coast including Praia da Marinha, Algar Seco Parque, Benagil cave, and along the Seven Hanging Valleys walk.
As Lagoa is an important wine producing region of Portugal, we decided to take a short tour of the vineyard and estate Morgado do Quintão. We also take a tour of one of the most popular international schools in the Algarve, the Nobel International School, to help you if you are thinking about coming to the area with children.
Lagoa is less than an hour’s drive from Faro airport and has so much to offer for visitors and residents alike. We want to give you an insight into what life is like here, whether you're just visiting the region or you are wanting to buy property in the Algarve.

Lagoa is a small and picturesque town in the western Algarve full of whitewashed housed that used to be located above a lagoon (Lagoa). Nowadays the lagoon is gone, but the name remains, and so does the top-quality wine of the region.
During our latest trip to the Algarve, we decided to spend 4 days exploring the area around Lagoa and we were surprised by the number of great activities you can encounter in such a small area.
During our 4 days in Lagoa, our primary goal was to experience local activities and have some quality couple time without too much stress. Having a car to explore is a must if you want the flexibility and freedom to go anywhere whenever you want. If you are flying to Faro airport, Lagoa is located around 60km west of the airport and the journey takes less than 40 minutes.
We hope our 4 days plan inspires you to visit Lagoa and gives you a glance at the relaxing and incredible activities you will be able to do in the area.
