Number 7. MUSEO DE LA NACION (NATIONAL MUSEUM)
Museo de la Nacion (National Museum)
The Museo de la Nacion is the best place to start learning about Peru's ancient history and culture. It is the largest museum in Lima. From the first people who lived there to the Inca Empire, the museum shows all of Peru's archaeological history. Exhibits of ceramics and textiles, along with scale models of archaeological sites such as Machu Picchu and the Nazca lines are arranged in chronological order to show the progression from one culture to the next.
Number 6. MIRAFLORES
Miraflores
Miraflores is a neighbourhood on the cliffs above the ocean, just south of the centre of Lima. It has a mix of modern glass-and-steel office buildings, beautiful old colonial homes, and a lot of green space. Here is where you can find shops and restaurants that serve the New Peruvian food that is getting attention from chefs all over the world. Along the cliff tops that look out over the water, there are beautiful parks and green spaces. Hang gliders often fly from the cliffs above surfers in the water below.
Number 5.PARQUE DEL AMOR (LOVE PARK)
Parque del Amor (Love Park)
A must thing to do in Lima, is visiting Parque del Amor.. You won't find a more romantic place to watch the sunset than the Parque del Amor (Park of Love) on the Malecón in Miraflores. Mosaic designs made of tiny tiles cover the walls, and they are often compared to the ones Antoni Gaud made for Barcelona, Spain's Parc Güell. Lines from Peruvian poets like Abelardo Sánchez León and Augusto Tamayo Vargas are worked into the mosaics.
Number 4.CIRCUITO MÁGICO DEL AGUA (MAGIC WATER TOUR) IN THE PARK OF RESERVE
Circuito Magico del Agua (Magic Water Tour) in the Park of the Reserve
In 2007, the Magic Water Tour opened in the Park of the Reserve. Within a year, two million people had gone on the tour. With 13 different fountains, it is the largest fountain complex in the world. The Fuente Mágica is the biggest and shoots a jet of water more than 80 metres high. The Fuente Tnel de las Sorpresas is a 35-meter tunnel of water that you can walk through.
Number 3.CATHEDRAL
Cathedral
On the east side of the Plaza de Armas, Lima's cathedral takes up most of the space. The first cathedral was built in 1535, and in 1564, it was made bigger based on the design of the cathedral in Seville, Spain. It was damaged by an earthquake in 1687, and the big one in 1746 almost destroyed it. However, it was quickly fixed up to look the way it does now. Check out the beautiful carved choir, the carving of Jesus in the chapel of St. John the Baptist, and the Spanish Baroque altars.
Number 2. CONVENTO DE SAN FRANCISCO
Convento de San Francisco
Most people know about the catacombs under San Francisco church and its monastery. About 10,000 people were buried there when it was Lima's first cemetery. Under the church, there is a labyrinth of small, bone-lined hallways. In one place, bones and skulls are arranged in a geometric pattern in a large round hole, making it look like a piece of art. If Mass is going on upstairs, the sound echoes through the catacombs in a scary way.

If you wonder what to do in Lima, you definitely have to visit Plaza de Armas. This large square, which is also called Plaza Mayor, is the historical centre of Lima and the best place to start when you want to see the city. Most of the buildings from the original city were destroyed in an earthquake in 1746. The bronze fountain in the centre of Lima's Plaza de Armas, which was built in 1651, is the only original building that is still there. After the earthquake, the buildings on Plaza de Armas were rebuilt, and it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Jirón de la Unión, or Union Street, is a pedestrian street located in the Historic Centre of Lima, part of the capital of Peru. For many decades it was the most important boulevards of the city, often described as the most aristocratic, where many of the most affluent citizens of the city and most powerful men around the world would meet. Subsequently, with the deterioration of the center of Lima, the Jirón de la Unión lost its aristocratic character and became completely commercialized.
Currently, the Jirón de la Unión has returned to being a commercial center; however, it has long lost its aristocratic character. The last change that has been made is the demolition of the concrete benches placed in the 1970s that were built with the intent to pedestrianize the road. These have been replaced with new benches inscribed with the coat of arms of each of the different departments of Peru.

Plaza Mayor
The birthplace of the city, as well as the core of the city. Surrounded by the Government Palace, Cathedral of Lima, Archbishop's Palace of Lima, the Municipal Palace, and the Palace of the Union.
Monastery of San Francisco
A church and a monastery. In this church, Jude the Apostle is venerated. Also contains a library and catacombs. In library - about 25,000 antique texts. Catacombs contain thousand of skulls and bones, having served as a burial-place until 1808.
Historic Centre of Lima
Located principally in the city centre or Cercado de Lima and Rímac areas. Among the most important tourist destinations in Peru. In 1988, UNESCO declared the historic center of Lima a World Heritage Site for its originality and high concentration of historic monuments.
Cathedral of Lima
A Roman Catholic cathedral located in the Plaza Mayor of downtown. It is dedicated to St John, Apostle and Evangelist.
Torre Tagle Palace
A Spanish Baroque palace located at Jr. Ucayali 363, in downtown. Home to the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Balconies of Lima
Cultural heritage built during the Spanish colonial regime as well as in the republic era in Peru. Most of them were built in the late 17th and 18th centuries. Nowadays the number of them counts up to 1,600.
Sanctuary of Las Nazarenas
A church. Is the site of the Peruvian catholic procession of the Lord of Miracles, Señor de los Milagros, who is also the patron of the city. Was constructed together with the Monastery of Nazarenas in 1771, after a major earthquake in 1746.
Walls of Lima
Were built by Viceroy Melchor de Navarra between 1684 and 1687 to protect Lima against attacks from pirates and privateers. Included 34 bulwarks and eleven gates (ten at the city and one at the other side of the river).
Museum of the Nation
One of two major museums of Peruvian history in Lima. Houses thousands of artifacts spanning the entire span of human occupation in Peru, including an impressive collection of Moche, Nazca, and Wari ceramics.
Archbishop's Palace of Lima
The residence of the Archbishop of Lima, and the administrative headquarters of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lima. Also headquarters to the offices of the cardinal of Peru.
