Les Baux-de-Provence sont une commune française, située dans le département des Bouches-du-Rhône en région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur entre Avignon, Nîmes et Marseille;
Situés dans le massif des Alpilles, Les Baux sont aujourd'hui principalement un site touristique plus qu'un un lieu de vie. Ils sont un des plus beaux villages de France et accueillent plus d'un million et demi de visiteurs par an. La commune compte 450 habitants, dont 22 vivent encore dans l'enceinte des Baux — la partie haute du village. Sur cette plateforme on peux voir des statues géantes de 5 M de haut appelées Géants d'Arcimboldo.
Le Massif des Alpilles :
Le massif des Alpilles est un massif montagneux de faible altitude, au paysage original de roches blanches calcaires, situé au nord-ouest du département français des Bouches-du-Rhône. Il s'étend d'ouest en est entre Tarascon et Orgon sur une superficie de 50 000 hectares, ainsi que sur seize communes, bien que très partiellement pour Tarascon et Saint-Martin-de-Crau. Environ 43 000 personnes vivent dans les Alpilles. Depuis le 13 juillet 2006, les collectivités locales sont associées au sein du parc naturel régional des Alpilles.

Les Baux-de-Provence is a French commune, located in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region between Avignon, Nîmes and Marseille;
Located in the Alpilles massif, Les Baux is today mainly a tourist site more than a place of life. They are one of the most beautiful villages in France and welcome more than a million and a half visitors a year. The Alpilles massif is a low-altitude mountain range, with an original landscape of white limestone rocks, located in the north-west of the French department of Bouches-du-Rhône. It stretches from west to east between Tarascon and Orgon over an area of 50,000 hectares, as well as over sixteen municipalities, although very partially for Tarascon and Saint-Martin-de-Crau. Around 43,000 people live in the Alpilles. Since July 13, 2006, local communities have been associated within the Alpilles Regional Natural Park.

Fontvieille is a French commune located in the department of the Rhone delta region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Located in the south-west of the Alpilles massif and north of Crau , near Arles , it is a town that lives mainly agriculture (several AOC) and tourism (mill Daudet ....).
The town of Fontvieille is located between the towns of Arles to the south and west, from Paradou to the east, Baux-de-Provence to the north-east and Saint-Etienne-du-Grès to the north. The provincial road 17 crosses the commune and the village on an east-west axis. The departmental roads 33 and 33a, 78f, 82 and 82a also pass on the commune.
Fontvieille has a train station on the track of the Alpilles train connected by the west to Arles . In the east, if this railway goes beyond the village, it does not exceed the limits of the town. The nearest motorway is the A54 , then the A7 to the east and the A9 to the west.
In the early Iron Age , when prehistoric habitats continue to be inhabited mostly new sites are colonized, as the plateau of Castelet, a low-lying plateau or Mount of Cordes. In the centuries preceding the arrival of the Romans, the territory of Fontvieille, like all the Alpilles, is populated by Ligures , Celts and Celto-Ligurians . Fontvieille is no doubt part of the territory of the Nearchi whose Ernaginum is the northern border, but also, perhaps, Anatilii , who live north of the Crau, whose Alpilles constitute the natural frontier
The town was founded in 1790 by deducting Arles territory. During this period it is enriched by the walled town of Estoublon xviii th century , the castle of Montauban and Halle covered still active ( xix th century ). There was still some of the dry marshes as historians report an unhealthy climate due to their presence. Agriculture produced wine, oil and fodder.
Stone quarries were in full production and materials shipped to Marseille via Arles. Alot to see such as Alphonse Daudet's windmill and Barbegal aqueduct and mill, a Roman watermill complex located on the territory of the commune.

Lacoste is a historical village in Provence, France, that has traces of human presence from the prehistoric and Roman times. It was a shelter for the Vaudois, a religious group that was massacred in 1545 by the Baron of Oppède in a brutal crusade . The village is also known for its castle, which belonged to the Simiane family, a noble lineage of Provence, and later to the Marquis de Sade, a scandalous writer and philosopher who escaped to Italy after being sentenced to death. The castle was partly ruined in 1779 and was plundered by the locals, but it was restored by Pierre Cardin, a renowned fashion designer, who also founded a cultural festival in Lacoste. The festival features various artistic events and performances every summer. Lacoste also has an art school, the Savannah Art College, which was established by an American artist in the 1970s. The school offers courses in different artistic disciplines, such as painting, sculpture, photography, and printmaking.

미국인 건축가 ‘프랭크 게리’(Frank Owen Gehry)가 설계한 ‘루마 아를’(Luma Arles)과 ‘파크 데 자틀리에’(Parc des Ateliers) 공원은 오래된 도시에 현대적 이미지를 가미하는 상징적 건축물로 전시, 행사, 회의, 공연뿐만 아니라 예술가의 주거지도 포함하는 복합 예술, 문화센터이다.
스위스 출신의 유명 컬렉터 ‘마야 호프만’(Maja Hoffmann)이 예술가들을 지원하기 위해 1억 5000만 유로를 기부하여 ‘루마 재단’(Luma Foundation)을 설립하였고, 프랑스의 SNCF 국영철도회사 부지에 오랜 시간 버려진 상태로 있던 창고를 개조하여 2021년 7월에 완공한 것이다.
9층 테라스에서 들어서면 광활하게 푤쳐진 ‘크로 평원’(Plaine de la Crau)을 가로질러 흐르는 ‘론강’(le Rhône)과 ‘카마르그 늪지’(la Camargue), 병풍처럼 둘러쳐진 ‘알피 산맥’(les Alpilles), 로마 황제의 도시 ‘아를’과 ‘몽마주르 수도원’(Abbaye de Montmajour)이 한눈에 들어오는 파노라마가 압권!!!
로마 원형 경기장을 상징하는 유리건물과 56m 높이로 우뚝 솟은 탑 외관을 덮은 11,000개의 알루미늄 패널, 불규칙하게 쌓여 있는 유리 블록들은 ‘아를’ 주변 ‘보 드 프로방스’(Baux-de-Provnce) 지방에서 흔히 보이는 울퉁불퉁한 암석 지형을 상징한단다.
햇빛을 반사시키는 알루미늄 패널은 태양빛에 따라 다양한 분위기를 연출하며 카멜레온 같은 매력을 발산한다고….
