Virtual Walking Tour of Prague's Central District, exploring Na Příkopě and Národní Streets on a Foggy Day

Na příkopě (On the moat), informally also Na Příkopě, Na Příkopech or Příkopy, is a street in the center of Prague, Czech Republic, connecting Wenceslas Square with the Republic Square. It separates the Old Town from the New Town. It is a place of representative buildings, including the headquarters of the Czech National Bank, old palaces, and luxurious shops.
Na Příkopě street leads to the site of a former 10-meter-wide and 8-meter-deep moat from 1234, which led along the medieval walls of the Old Town. Water flowed directly from the Vltava river, and when the moat was filled, the Old Town formed a closed island. The moat was covered in 1760. After coating, chestnut trees were planted here, and the street was named Ve starých alejích (In old alleys). From 1845-to 70, the street was named Kolowratská třída, and since 1871 bears the name Na Příkopě. Because it was one of the few vast streets in Prague, it soon became a traffic artery. Since 1875, the first line of the Prague horse-drawn tram has been led here, electrified since 1899. In 1919, Můstek became the first intersection in Prague controlled by a traffic policeman. In 1927, then the second intersection with the light signaling[4] (the first being Hybernská-Dlážděná-Havlíčkova intersection). In the 1960s, traffic jams were getting worse. However, in 1978 the metro station was opened at Můstek, and Line B followed the street from 1985 for almost its entire length to the Republic Square. A nearly century-old tram line was canceled in 1985, and the bustling urban street turned into a pedestrian zone. On the road appeared many new stores, and it became an important business center of the Prague promenade.


Národní, formerly Národní třída, is one of the important avenues in Prague, Czech Republic. It is placed on the boundary of New Town and Old Town, in the southwest direction from the city's center. This avenue connects the Legion Bridge bridge with Jungmannovo náměstí. In medieval times, there were fortification walls. On Friday, 17 November 1989, riot police violently suppressed a peaceful student demonstration, which is thought of as the initiation of the Velvet Revolution. Národní třída continued to be an eventful locale during the rest of the revolution.

I travelled with R 889 Slovacky Express from Praha hl.n to Olomouc hl.n at 20.5.2023 the ride time is 2:27H and 250 KM the ride is going over the biggest station Pardubice and Ceska Trebova. I also travelled one time with an Pendolino Super City train from Plzen to Olomouc. I really can recommend pay a bit more for a Super City train or an EC Train because then you become more service the seat space was not very much and the seats were not very comfortable. But this train is very often on Time.

I took ČD Fast train (Rychlík) Bouzov service connecting Šumperk and Brno. This service is a connection between Jeseníky mountains and Brno, the capital of South Moravian Region and the second-largest city in the Czech Republic. I tried the least popular Czech 1st class carriage on this service.

Kraków Główny-Praha hlavní nádraží I EC 114 ,,Cracovia I EU07-324/151 023 -9 I 10.08.2020



Witam serdecznie wszystkich i przedstawiam pierwszy film z kolejowej operacji ,,Praga-Wiedeń-Graz,która jak się dwa dni później okazało,zakończyła się kompletną katastrofą. Pierwszy film z tej trasy,nagrałem 10.08.2020(Poniedziałek).Jest to 100% kolejowej trasy pociągu EC 114 ,,Cracovia,czyli Kraków Główny-Praha hlavní nadraží. Pociąg w tym akurat dniu,prowadzony był na odcinku Kraków Główny-Bohumín, przez doskonale znaną mi już lokomotywę EU07-324 PKP IC.Prowadziła ten skład 20.04.2019,akurat do Bohumina przez Oświęcim i Czechowice-Dziedzice oraz 22.09.2019 pociąg EC 204 ,,Sobieski z Bohumina do Krakowa Głównego.Na odcinku Bohumín-Praga pociąg EC 114 ,,Cracovia,prowadziła lokomotywa 151 023-9 ČD.

Hello everyone and I present the first video from the railway operation ,,Prague-Vienna-Graz,which ,as it turned out two days later,ended in a complete disaster.The first film from this route was recorded on 10.08.2020(Monday).It is 100% of the railway route of EC 114 ,,Cracovia,i.e. Kraków Główny-Praha hlavní nadraží.The train in this particular case was run on the Kraków Główny- Bohumín section,by the EU07-324 PKP IC locomotive,already well known to me 20.04.2019, to Bohumín via Oświęcim and Czechowice-Dziedzice,and on 22.09.2019,by the EC train 204,,Sobieski from Bohumín to Kraków Główny.On the section Bohumín-Prague,the train EC 114 ,,Cracovia was run by a locomotive 151 023-9 ČD.

From an unofficial source I have, I found out that there are approximately 85,000 cemeteries in the whole Czech Republic - whether large or small, functioning or extinct, razed to the ground, or with only few visible foundations.

I tym oto sposobem, przyszedł czas na drugi i niestety ostatni film z kolejowej ,,Praga-Wiedeń-Graz. Do domu wróciłem niestety na tarczy. Powód-brak kluczowego dla tej trasy materiału,czyli Graz Hbf-Przemyśl Gł,z pociągu EC 104,,Porta Moravica.Teraz słów parę o filmie Praga-Graz.Po raz pierwszy na kanale,ma miejsce sytuacja w której,publikuję łączony materiał z dwóch pociągów. Odcinek Praga-Wiedeń ,nagrałem z pociągu RJ 1033,relacji Praha hl.n.-Wien Hbf.,prowadzonego przez lokomotywę 386 202.Natomiast odcinek Wiedeń-Graz,nagrany został z pociągu EC 159 ,,Croatia,relacji Wien Hbf.-Zagreb
GL.K.Dodam jeszcze,że dwa ostaonie wagony pociągu w tym ten z którego nagrywałem,odczepione zostały na stacji Graz Hauptbahnhof. Trasa piękna, zwłaszcza odcinek Wiedeń-Graz.
