EP 2 - kanker to Chitrakote - South Chhattisgarh Tour, Tata mari, Kondagaon craft
Bastar is a popular district of Chhattisgarh as it holds immense tourism opportunities. Though there are many places to visit in Bastar district, but the most famous of these is the Chitrakote waterfalls.
In the last episode EP - 1, we showed you the journey from Raipur to Kanker and in this episode you will see the journey from Kanker to Chitrakote ( Bastar district).
Following are the activities that we did during this day, This video was shot during the last week of february, date of shooting was 27th feb 2022
Accomodation - we stayed over night at Hillmyna hotel at Kanker - This is a Chhattisgarh tourism property, stay is just ok, not so good, i think they need to increase staff at this property.
Makri dhaba - This is a famous landmark dhaba of kanker, though the food at this eatery is average but the kheer that they serve is super tasty, Its basically famous for its kheer.
Tatamari - We reached this newly developed tourist attraction, had lunch at this place and enjoyed the scenic views.
Kondagaon - We visited Jhitku mitki shop for handicrafts, Kondagaon is famous for its craft work, largely for crasts made from bell metal and wrought iron.
Johar ethnic resort - this is a government run property, we went there to see the the model of village that exists in Bastar district. They have rooms and cottages for tourists.
Lala ji restaurant - we had dahi bhalla at this old eatery at the Kondagaon bus stand.
Reached Chitrakote - we reached Chitrakote ( Bastar district) , we stayed there at Dadami resort, which is run by Chhattisgarh tourism.

छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य के बस्तर को अन्य हिस्सों से जोड़ने वाला रास्ता केशकाल घाटी जिसे बस्तर का प्रवेश द्वार कहा जाता है। केशकाल घाटी राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग 30 पर कोण्डागांव-कांकेर के मध्य स्थित है। केशकाल घाटी घने जगंल क्षेत्र, पहाडि़यों तथा खूबसूरत अपनी घुमावदार सड़क और प्राकृतिक सुंदरता के लिये प्रसिद्व है। छत्तीसगढ़ में केशकाल घाटी को तेलिन घाटी व स्थानीय भासा में बारह भांवर के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।

एतिहासिक शिव मंदिर
यह मंदिर भगवान शिव को समर्पित है , यहाँ के धर्मिक और सांस्कृतिक महत्व के साथ-साथ प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य का भी आनंद लें और गढ़ धनोरा केशकाल का शिव मंदिर एक आध्यात्मिक और पर्यटन का महत्वपूर्ण स्थल है।
बस्तर में विभिन्न राजवंशो जैसे गॅंग, नल , छिन्दक नागवंश , चालुक्य वंश आदि ने कई सालो तक राज किया। इन वंशो के शासको से बहुत से मंदिरो का निर्माण कराया था. जिसमे से कुछ मंदिर आज भी सुरक्षित है और कुछ के नाम मात्र के अवशेष बचे है. जिसमे से अधिकांशत: भगवन शिव को समर्पित है. इन्ही मंदिरों में से एक है गोबरहीन मंदिर।

होनहेड जलप्रपात - Honhed Falls
ग्राम पंचायत होनहेड़ से करीब 1 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर जंगलों के बीच यह बारहमासी झरना है। इसकी ऊंचाई 80 फीट के करीब है। पर्यटन की दृष्टि से यह एक मनोहरी स्थल के रूप विकसित हो रहा है।
होनहेड जलप्रपात केशकाल घाटी के पास में स्थित एक सुंदर जलप्रपात है। यह जलप्रपात केशकाल घाटी से करीब 5 किलोमीटर दूर है। इस जलप्रपात में जाने के लिए कच्ची सड़क है।

कुयेमारी जलप्रपात।
कुयेमारी जलप्रपात 300 फीट ऊंचाई से सीढीनुमा नीचे की ओर गिरता है | यह बहुत ही खूबसूरत और मनमोहक लगता है और यह जलप्रपात छत्तीसगढ़ के कोंडागाव जिले के कुदाद्वाही गाँव के पास उपस्थित है यहां पर जलप्रपात के कल कल करने की आवाज मन को बहुत ही मोहित करता है |
कुएँमारी जलप्रपात को कोडाकल जलप्रपात (Kodakal Waterfall) भी कहते हैं। हालांकि गर्मी के दिनों में इनका जलस्तर कम हो जाता हैं, किन्तु इनकी खूबसूरती में कमी नहीं आती हैं।

Muktekhadga Waterfall | मुक्तेखड्गा जलप्रपात
केशकाल का सबसे खतरनाक जलप्रपात इस Muktekhadga Waterfall को माना जाता हैं। चूँकि यह मुक्तेखड्गा जलप्रपात 70 से 80 फीट की ऊंचाई से गिरने पर बहुत ही खूबसूरत दिखने के साथ-साथ उस जगह पर गड्डे किये हैं। और यहाँ आसपास फिसलन अधिक होती हैं।
मुक्तेखड़गा जलप्रपात केशकल में स्थित बहुत ही सुंदर जलप्रपात है, जब झरने का पानी 80 फीट की ऊंचाई से नीचे गिरता है

Uparbedi Waterfall | ऊपरबेदी जलप्रपात
इस जलप्रपात को देखने के लिए खाई वाले रास्ते से नीचे जाना होता हैं। इसके रास्ते में पत्थर वाले रास्ते से जाना होता हैं, जो बरसात के दिनों में अधिक फिसलन होता हैं।
यह झरना भी मेंदरी घुमड़ जलप्रपात के जैसे ही दीखता हैं जो काफी खूबसूरत हैं। इसकी खूबसूरती को आप यहाँ आकर ही अनुभव कर सकते हैं।

How to Reach Keshkal
यहाँ के झरनों को देखने आने के लिए ना तो रेल चलती हैं और ना ही कोई बस सेवा उपलब्ध हैं। यहाँ आप टेक्सी या स्वयं के वाहन में यहाँ के झरनों को देख सकते हैं।
झरना में पहुंचने के लिए आपको हवाई अड्डा राजधानी रायपुर में मिलेगी।यहाँ आने के लिए कोई रेल सेवा उपलब्ध नहीं हैं। सड़क मार्ग के माध्यम से ही इस जगह में पंहुचा जा सकता हैं। राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग – 30 से बटराली ग्राम आना होगा जो केशकाल से लगभग 22 किमी अंदर हैं। यहाँ से आपको कुएँमारी या अन्य ग्राम आना होगा। जहाँ से आप सभी जलप्रपातों का आनंद उठा सकते हैं।
Food – यहाँ पे आपको लोकल food ही मिलने की संभावना हैं। अपने साथ खाने-पीने की चीजे अवश्य लाये।

Kondagaon City, Chhattisgarh
Kondagaon a municipality about 70 kilometers from Jagdalpur city is the headquarter of Kondagaon district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. It is the third largest city of Bastar division. Kondagaon separated from Bastar district on 24 January 2012 and formed as 27th district of the Chhattisgarh state. It is mostly renowned for its bell metal craft and other art forms native to the tribal of Bastar. Also known as the Shilp sheher (lit. craft city) of Chhattisgarh owing to the variety of indigenous crafts produced in the area.
Kondagaon is located at 19.6°N 81.67°E.[2] It has an average elevation of 593 metres (1945 feet).
As of 2011 India census,[3] Kondagaon had a population of 40,921. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Kondagaon has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 55%. In Kondagaon, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Kondagaon lies on the NH 30 highway and can be reached from either Raipur or Jagdalpur. Frequent bus services are available to Kondagaon from Raipur and Jagdalpur. The nearest railway station is Jagdalpur. A Helicopter strip was temporarily constructed in the playground adjacent to the government college campus, which is occasionally used.
The town is known for the foodies, being migrants and settlers from various parts of India including the south and the north. Lala hotel is the oldest hotel in the city operating through post independence era when kondagaon was as much of a small city. Nirala Chaat Bhandaar is a patron pot pouri maker in the town famous for relishing pot pouris.in this time recently construction work is completed 100 bedded MCH wing for child and mother hospital govt. Of india (HSCC (I) LTD. Kondagaon situated on banks of river Narangi.
