Lake Pleasant is a lovely caravan park set in one of the world's most beautiful areas.
The garden route on the Indian Ocean coast of South Africa features many rare and interesting areas, with lakes, mountains and forests of incredible beauty.
The small town of Sedgefield is on the garden route. In 2021 it's still a small town with nice people and one set of traffic lights. This won't last, soon the people will come and the cars and more traffic lights will come and we'll have the same mess as everywhere else.
Unfortunately, videos like this don't help! They advertise areas of beauty and people want to go there. The people clog up the place and soon prices rocket and all the trees are cut down and the lakes disappear.
But, while we can, have a look at my rendering of a lovely campsite in a lovely area of the world.

This channel takes an in-depth look at smaller and off-grid living in Southern Africa.

The tiny house movement is small in Southern Africa, but is growing exponentially very quickly.
Southern Africa is vast and has areas of great beauty with weather that is unique and superb. These videos will interest adventurers of all ages. There are still ways to live in this world that allow one to wander the world, as John Wayne used to do in the old western movies.
Hopefully these videos will bring out your inner 'John Wayne'.

Our adventures in Cape Town. #MakingMemories

S1 – Ep 324 – Boknesstrand and Cannon Rocks – Fascinating Piece of History!

Our trip to Boknesstrand and Cannon Rocks was filled with adventure and discovery. Despite arriving in darkness, our accommodation provided us with a comfortable stay and we enjoyed the delicious chicken curry we bought. The next morning, we eagerly set out to explore these captivating destinations. The Estuary at Boknesstrand left us in awe with its breathtaking beauty. As we enjoyed a delightful breakfast of locally-made toasties at the pristine beach, we marvelled at the surroundings. A short drive away, we reached Cannon Rocks, where we discovered a fascinating piece of history. The cannons on the beach originated from a vessel that fell victim to pirate attacks in 1622 and sank just offshore. Walking along the beach, we also stumbled upon remnants of another shipwreck, which was a reminder of the treacherous reputation of this shoreline. Learning that this coastline ranked as the third most perilous in the world, left us astonished. #DustBugs #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #travelongravel #easterncape #boknesstrand #cannonrocks

Sitrusoewer River Camp, Kirkwood. HD/4K Cinematic

Area video of our weekend breakaway to Sitrusoewer River Camp, Kirkwood. One of my favourite spots to visit, also a favourite drone spot! Had to look far and wide for a single orange hanging in a tree as November is after citrus season. We had some happy campers enjoying some catch and release fishing in the Sundays River. This was filed with my DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone and Canon M10.

Get away from it all and explore nature and wildlife in all its diversity in the unspoilt wildness of the Greater Addo region of the Eastern Cape – home to the only Big 7 national park in the world, five of South Africa’s seven biomes and one of the country’s largest and oldest conservation areas. Experience safaris on foot, on wheels or by boat in this unique area where bush and forest meet river and ocean.

The Karoo of South Africa

This video is about the Karoo of South Africa. The Karoo is a vast semi-arid region of central and southern South Africa, roughly twice the size of France. It covers 45% of South Africa itself and was traditionally exploited by low-intensity sheep farming. Today, expansive game reserves are returning some of the land to its pre-European condition and stocking it with indigenous wildlife. The Karoo is a tough landscape with hardy rural communities pitted against the harsh conditions of the near-desert environment. The geology of the Karoo is famous for its expansive, flat-lying outcrops of Permian and Early Triassic sediments. These rocks are host to some of the world's best fossil reptiles representing the early evolution of land animals.

Muchenje Safari Lodge | Botswana

THE JEWEL OF WESTERN CHOBE

Muchenje Safari Lodge is situated high on an escarpment on the quieter western side of Botswana’s Chobe National Park. With wonderful views of the Chobe River and the seasonal flood plains, its position means that it is far away from the bustle of Kasane yet just two hours from the magnificent Victoria Falls.

Muchenje Safari Lodge is independently owned and run. It is within the Chobe Forest Reserve, just a short drive from Chobe National Park. There are no fences between the Western Chobe Park Boundary and the Lodge; animals roam free.

Chobe is renowned for its prolific wildlife and huge concentrations of game. Muchenje prides itself in the variety and quality of safari experiences, allowing you to explore the Chobe and all its wonders.

There are wonderful views over the Chobe River from the main lodge and all of the luxurious cottages.

Being owner-run, Muchenje Safari Lodge allows for more personalised service and a homely atmosphere. With experienced managers and guides looking after you every step of the way.

S1 – Ep 320 – Kariega / Uitenhage – Our Recent Visit was Captivating!

During our recent visit to the town of Kariega, our first stop was the Volkswagen factory. It was great to explore the museum and admire the collection of vintage cars, offering a fascinating glimpse into the history of Volkswagen. We then embarked on a drive through the bustling industrial area and the rest of the town. As we meandered through the streets, we were captivated by the architectural splendour of the old buildings, monuments, and the old train station, which stood as a testament to Kariega's past. After a day filled with exploration, we retreated to our cosy accommodation, enjoying the evening in tranquility. The following morning, as the sun rose we had our hot coffee and then we embarked on a brief drive through another part of town before bidding farewell to Kariega, leaving with cherished memories of our time in this captivating destination. #DustBugs #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #travelongravel #easterncape #kariega #uitenhage
