Q: How long was the trip?
A: Around 18 days. But I would say it's doable in 2 weeks. If you want more time to explore then 3 weeks should be more than adequate.
Q: How many days do I need in each city?
A: I would say 3-5 days in Kyoto and Osaka. Nara 1-2 days. At least 4-6 days in Tokyo but the more the better.
Q: How much did it cost?
A: Excluding hotels + airplane tickets we had a budget of around 2000 USD
Q: Is there vegan restaurant options in Japan?
A: Yes, I found plenty, and most restaurants offer vegan-friendly meals
Q: Which month did you go?
A: We visited in July but I would recommend visiting in either the Autumn or Spring season

The gold from Sado supported government finances in Edo era(about 400 years ago to about 150 years ago).
In Sado island , you can see unique features of this industrial heritage.
Also, Sado gold mine is aimed to be world heritage.

Sado is one of the most unique island in Japan.
It is famous for beautiful nature, delicious cuisine, and unique tradition.

For example, Noh, Temples modeled on which in Kyoto ,and so on.
Also, there was a Gold and Silver Mine in Sado island and it used to be main of gold producing area in Japan.
You can still visit there and learn history of this great heritage.
These unique backgrounds have grown up uniqueness of Sado Island.

Sado Island Gold Mine Japan 4K
Sado-shima is a large island north of the large provincial capital of Niigata . Sado Kinzan its gold and silver mine is its most notable feature. It was the largest gold mine in all of Japan for nearly a thousand years and was at its pinnacle one of the largest gold mines in the world. At its peak it was able to produce around 800Kg of gold and 35 tons of silver annually.
It was a source of wealth that directly translated into power for various samurai clans that controlled it throughout the centuries. In the Sengoku (warring states) period it fell under the pervue of a powerful warlord who used it to raise armies to conquer his neighbors. It was also instrumental in the Meiji period that saw Japan transform from a closed, feudal society to a modern advanced nation. The Sado mines lasted right up to 1989 before finally closing. Let's take a quick look.
