TOP 10 Things to do in Kingston-Upon-Hull, England 2023!

Kingston-Upon-Hull, England is an amazing place to visit in England. If you want to know top 10 what to do in Kingston-Upon-Hull or you need a travel guide, please keep watching.

4. East Park
Hull's largest open space, dog-friendly East Park is a delight to explore. Notable features of this lovely park include an animal compound with deer, wallabies, rheas, and peacocks, as well as a variety of native Australian birds. It also hosts regular concerts and other events such as the Hull Show in warmer weather.
Opened in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, this Grade-II-listed park is a vibrant green space encompassing some 130 acres of parkland. Also well worth a visit is nearby Queens Gardens, with its lovely floral displays, fountains, and ponds.

3. Burton Constable Hall & Grounds
An easy 25-minute drive northeast of the Hull Maritime Museum, Elizabethan-era Burton Constable Hall makes for a fun excursion from the city center. The oldest parts of this sprawling manor house date back to the 12th century, and the same family – the Constables – have lived here for well over 400 years.
Highlights of a visit include seeing the home's well-preserved 18th- and 19th-century interiors, including the spectacular staircase, and a rare cabinet of curiosities. Be sure to allocate some time to explore the estate's impressive 300-acre grounds. Afterward, splurge on a memorable afternoon tea.

2. Waters' Edge Country Park & Visitor Centre
Paying a visit and exploring Waters' Edge Country Park & Visitor Centre is one of the best free things to do in Hull. Located on the south bank of the Humber River, this wildlife and nature sanctuary is located just steps away from the Humber Bridge. Yet its proximity to this major Hull attraction doesn't detract from a visit. The views over this remarkable feat of engineering are quite dramatic, especially when framed by the natural setting of the park.
In addition to the fun-to-walk trails and boardwalks, be sure to pop into the Visitor Centre, which features fun activities for kids, as well as a playground. There's also an on-site shop and café.

1. Barton-upon-Humber
The town of Barton-upon-Humber – usually simply referred to as Barton – is just 11 miles from Hull on the south side of the Humber, a trip that involves crossing the Humber Bridge.
Barton is home to the 1,000-year-old St. Peter's Church, notable for its more than 2,800 burials from Anglo-Saxon to Victorian times. Now under the auspices of English Heritage (with limited opening hours), its Anglo-Saxon tower and baptistery have helped make it one of the most studied churches in England.
Other attractions in historic Barton include the Baysgarth House Museum, the Wilderspin National School Museum, and 51 Fleetgate, believed to be the oldest residential house in North Lincolnshire.

A Little of what remains of the King's Wood,a place where Kings once came to hunt

B123 Kingswood and Lapworth circular 9th October 2022

We started our walk at the stunning Boot Inn in the village of Lapworth, Solihull, West Midlands. We walked an 8.5-mile circular route encompassing canals, woods, fields a few hills and great fellowship.

Kingswood and Lapworth are two neighbouring villages located in Warwickshire, England. They are situated in the picturesque countryside of the West Midlands region, offering a blend of rural charm and convenient access to nearby towns and cities.

Kingswood:

Kingswood is a small village with a close-knit community. It is known for its quaint cottages, scenic landscapes, and peaceful atmosphere. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with rolling hills, farmland, and meandering streams. It offers a serene and idyllic setting for residents and visitors alike.

Lapworth:

Lapworth is a larger village situated near Kingswood. It has a rich history and is home to several historical landmarks and attractions. The village features a mix of architectural styles, ranging from traditional thatched cottages to Georgian and Victorian buildings. Lapworth is located within the Arden countryside, an area known for its natural beauty and rural charm.

One notable attraction in Lapworth is the Lapworth Museum of Geology, which is part of the University of Birmingham. The museum showcases a collection of geological specimens and artefacts, offering insights into the Earth's history and the natural world.

Both Kingswood and Lapworth offer easy access to the surrounding countryside, providing ample opportunities for outdoor activities. There are numerous walking and cycling routes in the area, allowing visitors to explore scenic landscapes and enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside. The villages are also close to the Grand Union Canal, which offers pleasant walking paths along the waterway.

For those interested in history and heritage, the nearby Baddesley Clinton is a National Trust property worth visiting. This moated manor house dates back to the 15th century and boasts beautiful gardens and fascinating stories from its past.

Additionally, Kingswood and Lapworth benefit from their proximity to larger towns and cities. The village of Dorridge is nearby, offering amenities such as shops, restaurants, and a train station. The towns of Solihull and Warwick are also within easy reach, providing further options for shopping, dining, and cultural attractions.

In summary, Kingswood and Lapworth are charming villages nestled in the scenic Warwickshire countryside. With their picturesque surroundings, historical landmarks, and access to outdoor activities, they provide a delightful retreat for those seeking a peaceful and idyllic setting.

Places to see in ( Windsor - UK )

Places to see in ( Windsor - UK )

Windsor is a town on the River Thames in southeast England, just west of London. It’s home to Windsor Castle, a residence of the British Royal Family. Built by William The Conqueror in the 11th century, the castle was extensively remodelled by subsequent monarchs. Public tours take in the State Apartments, which contain opulent furnishings, and paintings from the royal art collection.

Windsor is a historic market town and unparished area in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. Windsor is widely known as the site of Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of the British Royal Family.

Windsor is situated 23 miles (37 km) west of Charing Cross, London, 7 miles (11 km) south east of Maidenhead, and 21 miles (34 km) east of the county town of Reading. It is immediately south of the River Thames, which forms its boundary with its ancient twin town of Eton. The village of Old Windsor, just over 2 miles (3 km) to the south, predates what is now called Windsor by around 300 years; in the past Windsor was formally referred to as New Windsor to distinguish the two.

As a result of the castle, Windsor is a popular tourist destination and has facilities usually found in larger towns: two railway stations, a theatre and several substantial hotels. Various boat trips operate on the River Thames, with connections to Maidenhead and Staines-upon-Thames. In winter, Alexandra Gardens hosts a temporary ice rink. Near the town is Legoland Windsor, the only Legoland park in the United Kingdom and the largest Legoland park in the world in terms of area. Legoland Windsor was built on the site of the former Windsor Safari Park.

Windsor is accessible from Junction 6 of the M4 and from Slough via a 3 mile long dual carriageway. Windsor has two railway stations. Windsor & Eton Central railway station has a shuttle service to Slough. Windsor & Eton Riverside station provides a service to London Waterloo. Windsor is linked to the town of Eton (on the opposite bank of the River Thames) by Windsor Bridge.

Places to see in ( Kidwelly - UK )

Kidwelly is a town and community in Carmarthenshire, south west Wales, approximately 7 miles north-west of the most populous town in the county, Llanelli. In the 2001 census the community of Kidwelly returned a population of 3,289, increasing to 3,523 at the 2011 Census. It lies on the River Gwendraeth above Carmarthen Bay.

A field in the neighbouring forest of Kingswood, Maes Gwenllian is known as the location of a battle in 1136, in which Princess Gwenllian, sister of Owain Gwynedd, led her husband's troops into battle against a Norman army during his absence. She is believed to have been killed either during the battle or shortly afterwards, historians debate whether her death was at Maes Gwenllian or if she was marched back to Kidwelly Castle to be beheaded there.

Although being an ancient town, Kidwelly grew significantly during the industrial revolution, as did many other towns in southern Wales. The town was home to a large brickworks and tinworks. Little evidence now exists of such activities since the closure of the industrial works, with the exception of Kidwelly Industrial Museum.

Local attractions include Kidwelly Castle, founded in 1106; a fourteenth-century bridge and gate; the former quay (now a nature reserve); a Norman parish church, and an industrial museum. Kidwelly Carnival is an annual event held on the second Saturday of July. Previous carnivals have featured aerial displays. The town is twinned with French village Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer.

Kidwelly is connected to Llanelli and Carmarthen by the A484 road. There are local buses running through Kidwelly, linking the town with Llanelli and Carmarthen, with a main stop in the town centre. Some services were withdrawn in 2014. Kidwelly railway station is on the West Wales Line. Westbound services from Kidwelly terminate at Carmarthen or Pembroke Dock, with less frequent direct services to Fishguard and Milford Haven. - Pembrey Airport is approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Kidwelly.

( Kidwelly - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Kidwelly . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Kidwelly - UK
