Namibia is in Southern Africa, bordering South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Zambia and the Atlantic Ocean. Namibia boasts remarkable natural attractions such as the Namib desert, the Fish River Canyon Park, Etosha National Park and the Kalahari desert. Its people speak nine different languages, including some of the Khoisan languages which include the 'clicks' that present an enigma to most native English-speakers. Namibia produces some of the world's highest quality diamonds.
Few countries in Africa can match Namibia's sheer natural beauty. The country's name derives from its (and the world's) oldest desert, the Namib, and there are few more stirring desert realms on the planet, from the sand sea and perfect dead-tree valleys at Sossusvlei to the otherworldliness of sand dunes plunging down to the sea at Sandwich Harbour and the Skeleton Coast. Inland, running through the heart of the country, a spine of mountains creates glorious scenery – the Naukluft Mountains, the Brandberg, Spitzkoppe, Damaraland and the jaw-dropping Fish River Canyon. With rivers and wetlands in the Caprivi Strip and the endless gold-grass plains of the Kalahari, it's difficult to think of an iconic African landscape that Namibia doesn't possess.
Make no mistake: Namibia is one of Southern Africa's best places to watch wildlife, at least in the country's north. Etosha National Park belongs in the elite wildlife-watching destinations – big cats, elephants, black rhinos and plains game in abundance. Two other areas are emerging as complements to Etosha. Damaraland is a wonderful place to see desert-adapted elephants and lions, and also happens to host Africa's largest population of free-ranging rhinos – rhino tracking is a real highlight here. Over in the Caprivi Strip, the wildlife is returning, with Bwabwata and Nkasa Rupara becoming wonderfully rich parks to explore. This being Namibia, there are private reserves (Okonjima and Erindi premier among them) as well as game farms that serve as havens for rescued wildlife.

Khorixas is a town of 6,000 inhabitants in southern Kunene Region, Namibia. It was the capital of the Damaraland bantustan before Namibia's independence.It is the administrative capital of Khorixas Constituency. Most of the inhabitants are from the Damara ethnic group. The town is located near to an important deposit of petrified wood and the Twyfelfontein valley, known for its rock art.

Namibia Part10: From Twyfelfountain to Swakopmund / Boattrip to the seals/
Day 13+14 of our Safari: Today we are heading from Palmwag Lodge to Swakopmund. On the road through the beautiful desert we visit Twyfelfountain, the Basalt Organ pipes and the Burnt Mountain.
Next morning we attend a boat trip to the seals - a Highlight of the trip you should not miss. Very funny, you can even touch seals, which jump on board to feed a bit.
In he aftrnoon we check out the colonial old town of Swakopmund.
Dinner in The Tug - highly recomendable.

Nestling in a timeless valley is the Vingerklip Lodge on the 3000 ha Farm Bertram that is surrounded by a game fence helping us to protect and preserve the animals. Our 1600 ha private reserve has 3 waterholes in various locations around the lodge with the main water-hole being floodlit at night.
Various types of animals including Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Kudus, Oryx,
Springbok, Impala, Warthogs,Baboons and Steenbok frequently visit the waterholes and are also often spotted when following the walking trails.
One of the most dramatic rock formations in Namibia is the 35m high pillar of rock, the Vingerklip or Finger of Stone. It stands proudly above a valley in the ancient landscape known as the Ugab terraces.
A sheltered sundowner veranda offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the unmatched splendour of a Namibian sunset. Vingerklip Lodge offers two swimming pools where guests can spend the lazy afternoons. For those who prefer a more luxurious and warmer form of relaxation, the Jacuzzi is open to guests at their convenience.
Vingerklip Lodge offers 12 double unit thatched bungalows comprising 24 rooms with en suite bathrooms which are individually furnished and equipped to satisfy all travellers requirements. Each unit has a private terrace to complete the atmosphere of relaxation and tranquillity. Eight of the units offer loft accommodation for two children each. All units are equipped with air-conditioning.

A sundowner drive in Vingerklip reserve with a chance to see some animals but guaranteed to see beautiful landscape, and just to enjoy nature while watching the sun set with a glass of champagne.
Vingerklip walk and Vingerklip extension
These two are a long and a short hike to the famous Vingerklip (Rock finger). The shorter trail takes you directly from the Lodge to the Vingerklip.
This walk can be done any time of the day if you would like to do it by yourself and takes about an hour to complete.
The extension of this walk takes you around the North terrace and then to the Vingerklip, this takes about 2 hours to complete.

Namibia's proudest area where you can spot just about every African animal you can think off(except hippos), it's very beginner friendly for your first safari & it's also yhe cheapest place for Safari in all of African continent
3. SKELETON COAST
This is the least visited national park in the world but not because it's not beautiful, but because it's super remote, but trip through this area of the world will stay engraved in your memories forever
4. SPITZKOPPE
Another beautiful remote place in middle of Namibia. Surrounded by huge natural boulders with only nature& desert around you and no society for 100s of kilometers which makes it one of the best places for stargazing ✨
