Further north we arrive at the towns of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. The two towns grew up along both sides of the Kennbunk River and are connected by a busy little bridge. The Larger town of Kennebunk was founded in 1621 and is known for its fishing and shipbuilding. We landed in the bustling downtown area by Doc Square but found that many of the galleries were closed due to seasonal constraints
Today the area is known as a tourist destination with busy side streets and a vibrant restaurant scene. In fact, Kennebunkport with is relatively small population is one of the wealthiest towns in the United States
