Befreiungshalle Kelheim, Germany 4K

#greetingsfromGermanyZbyglus The Liberation Hall is a monument on the Michelsberg above the town of Kelheim in Lower Bavaria. Seen from Regensburg it stands upstream of the Danube at the confluence of the Altmühl or the Main-Danube Canal with the Danube. The Liberation Hall was built in memory of the battles won against Napoleon during the Wars of Liberation from 1813 to 1815. The building was commissioned by King Ludwig I of Bavaria.
The mighty-looking round building made of Kelheim limestone rests on a three-tiered base, which is designed as an eighteen-cornered polygon. The outer facade is subdivided by 18 buttresses, which are crowned by 18 colossal statues of Johann Halbig as allegories of the German tribes that took part in the battles. These are: Franconia, Boehmen, Tyroler, Bayern, Oesterreicher, Prussen, Hanoveraner, Maehren, Sachsen, Schlesier, Brandenburger, Pommern, Mecklenburg, Westphalen, Hessen, Thueringer, Rheinlaender, Schwaben (all around in this order with an arbitrarily chosen beginning) .

Detailed tour at the HALL OF LIBERATION at Kelheim. (Germany) Majestic and beautiful.

Welcome to a new video. Today we visit one of the most famous buildings at the south part of Germany, the Hall of Liberation loceated at a hill over the town Kelheim at the river Donau. You know the river Donau from other videos of me and for a trip at the autumn time a trip to Kelheim and the Hall of Liberation good. Find out more in my video and at last what is also happened to see in the region around Regensburg.

The trip to the Hall of Liberation (Befreiungshalle):
I went by car in the district of Regensburg to the famous Hall of Liberation. I knew the town Kelheim from my trip last summer at the Monastery Abbey Weltenburg and for more stays as well. I explored step by step the building and park which is around the hall. Inside and outside the building was amazing. Outside the white figures with names of the regions on a board in its hands and inside the many female figures which looks like for freedom, might and history. After the inside hall I went up to the top and enjoyed great view to Kelheim and the landscape. To my surprise the sight was wide enough that I could see to the town Ingolstadt.
Later on, the Maddow I talked about other interesting destinations in the region like Prunn castle, Monastery Weltenburg Abbey and the famous building the Walhalla which is the top sightseeing at and around Regensburg.

About the Hall of Liberation:
The Hall of Liberation loceated at a hill called Michealsberg, behind the town Kelheim is a memorial place for the end of the World War 30. The hall was built by the architects Leo von Klenze and Friedrich von Gärtner in order of the Bavarian kind Ludwik I of Bavaria. The Hall of Liberation is one of the most famous buildings at the river Donau, south Germany and according to the history of the Liberation war the most famous building of the Bavarian kind and the architect Leo von Klenze. The Hall was built between 1842 and 1863. Its part of the Bavarian castle administration and is next to the Walhalla Monastery Weltenburg Abbey the most popular tourist’s destination for people which visit the federal state Bavaria and Austria. The visitors can walk up to the top of the building for enjoying a view to the town Ingolstadt, the town Kelheim, and the river Altmuel. A visit the Hall of Liberation is good to know more about the Liberation war and the long history of Bavaria.

Other buildings and tourist attractions at the Donau and the district of Kelheim:
Along the river Donau and the city of Regensburg are a lot of interesting places which are built especially for tourists both people from the district for relaxing. These places are also good to see by ship. Some of the places are the Monastery Weltenburg Abbey with the oldest brewery in the world. Prunn castle, Wolfsegg castle which is famous for a ghost legend, the Walhalla and Regensburg with the Stone bridge, the Saint Stephans Dome cathedral and the old town.
Here a list with the buildings and pages and something more:
