Tunisia Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Tunisia.
Tunis is a North African city with a long history. After the Hasfides and Osmans, the Spanish Moors came but then had to give way to French colonial rule until present day Independence. In the old town, there are more than 700 historic monuments which include 200 palaces, a colourful variety of buildings and numerous mosques.Among shoreline lava rock is the entrance to the Ghar El-Kebir, a collection of sandstone grottos. During Roman times, thousands of slaves were forced to bring building material for Carthage and El Djem from subterranean shafts. In Sousse, the simple fort of Ribat is probably the oldest Islamic building in North Africa, in which Muslim soldiers lived in monastery-like isolation and in the town’s Archaeological Museum there is a fantastic range of mosaics, predominantly from Punic and Roman excavations. Gabes is an oasis town which overflows with luxuriant floral splendour. By horse and carriage visitors can travel through one of the most beautiful maritime oases in Tunisia where, under 500,000 date palms, tobacco, henna, pumpkins, apricots and bananas thrive. The focal point of important caravan routes and trading centre for goods from Libya and Black Africa, Medenine is a very charming and lively city. Its reinforced honeycomb-shaped caves were the extraordinary-looking buildings that many will recall from the film ‘Star Wars’. The Sahara is the largest desert on earth, with different landscapes such as rock deserts, salt deserts and serene oases. Kebili is located on the edge of a huge salt lake and is a typical desert village with a green oasis and Artesian springs which provide water for its fruit and vegetable gardens. Nefta is also a green paradise in the desert, an oasis town that boasts no less than 152 Artesian wells. Dougga contains Tunisia’s most important ruins which nestle in the hills among shimmering olive trees and poppy fields. Endless deserts and fertile oases, busy towns and isolated mountain regions, Roman temples and Muslim mosques: Tunisia is tempting!

Into The Fire: ???? TOP 5 Most Hottest Destinations Around the Globe!

???? When you imagine flying somewhere nice and sunny, you probably envision a beach location with temps in the 80s or 90s, not a desert known for its extreme heat. The hottest areas on Earth range from bustling metropolis to breathtaking desert vistas, with temperatures often exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Here are some of the world's hottest spots.

Number 1.
Furnace Creek, Death Valley (USA) Furnace Creek in Death Valley, California (USA) is the hottest spot on Earth, with a temperature of 56.7°C (134°F) recorded on July 10, 1913. In the summer, Death Valley has an average daily high temperature of 45°C (113°F). Other greater temperatures have been claimed in the years since, but these have yet to be confirmed. One such contender for the title of hottest spot on Earth was reported in what is now Libya in 1922, at 58°C (136°F).

Number 2.
Kebili (Tunisia): On 7 July 1931, the hottest temperature ever recorded in Africa was 55°C (131°F) in Kebili, Tunisia. It is the second-highest temperature ever measured on Earth. Kebili is noteworthy for being the first example of humanity living in Tunisia, approximately 200,000 years ago during the early Palaeothic era, in addition to its continent-breaking record heat.
Number 3.
China's Flaming Mountains With a name like Flaming Mountains, it's no surprise that this location is hot. According to the same NASA data, this region reached 150 degrees Fahrenheit (65.5 degrees Celsius, land skin temperature) in 2008.

Number 4.
Turbat (Pakistan) The temperature was about 53.7°C (128.7°F) that was recorded in Turbat, Pakistan on 28 May 2017. The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) stated that the 53.7°C temperature measured in Turbat was the fourth-highest ever recorded at the time. Turbat, located on the Kech River in the southwest of the country's Balochistan area, is known as one of the hottest cities in Asia.

Number 5.
Aziziyah, Libya The old seat of the Jafara district, 25 miles south of Tripoli, used to be the hottest point on the planet, with a temperature of 58 degrees Celsius recorded in 1922. However, it was deprived of its title in 2012 after meteorologists pronounced it invalid due to a number of issues, including the inexperience of the individual who recorded it. In midsummer, however, the town still sees temperatures of more than 48 degrees Celsius.

Well, that wraps up our adventure through some of the hottest places on Earth. If you enjoyed this journey, give it a thumbs up, share it with your fellow thrill-seekers.

British tourists meet Tunisian locals for first time

The BEST thing about travel is meeting new people around the world, connecting with strangers and opening our eyes to what normal life looks like around the world.

We don’t just mean the visible differences in culture that immediately hit you in the face when you visit a new country...but on a deeper level..where do people live and what’s the town like, what does their average day look like, what do they do for work and how do they make ends meet. Ultimately, what does ‘normal life' look like to them.

Today we visit a rural Tunisian town and get to experience just that before ending the day with a traditional family meal with new friends.

Hopefully you enjoy this Tunisia travel series, exploring less-explored landscapes and locations with us, seeing a new side to the country and an insight into how other people live.

If you're new around here, we're a British vanlife couple living full time in our self converted campervan. We've called our van our home for over 3 years now and spend 6-9 months each year taking roadtrips around Europe and beyond.

Don't forget to LIKE this video, SUBSCRIBE, and hit the BELL for notifications, if you want to come along on more vanlife adventures in unexplored places with us.

See you next Monday! C & M

10 Countries with the HOTTEST Temperatures EVER RECORDED!

Most people dream of going on holiday to a warm country and spending the day lounging in the sun. but beware, some countries may just be a little too warm for you!
here are 10 Countries With The HOTTEST Temperatures EVER RECORDED!

10. Dallol, Ethiopia
This area is full of hot springs and gas geysers which is probably why during the years 1960 to 1966 it recorded an average daily high temperature of 106ºf making it the uninhabited area with the highest average in the world!

9. Dasht-e Loot, Iran
Between 2003 and 2009 this desert plateau reached ground temperatures of 159ºf! That's hot enough to melt your car's tires! its no surprise then that this place is uninhabited.

8.Timbuktu, Mali
This southern Sahara desert city highest ever recorded temperature is 120.2ºf but this city never cools down not even in winter, where daily highs are still in the 90s

7. Bandar-e Mahshahr, Iran
The hottest recorded temperature in the city is 123.8ºf but it also has the second-highest heat index ever recorded. The heat index is a value used to let us know how hot it really feels by factoring in relative humidity as well as temperature.

6. Tirat Zvi, Israel
Tirat Zvi recorded its highest temperature of 129.2ºf in June 1942 although the record is in dispute as an investigator claims the temperature was closer to 127ºf

5. Wadi Halfa, Sudan
This city sits on the shores of Lake Nubia and its highest temperature was 127.4ºf and was recorded in April 1967 even though the hottest month in this city is June with average daily highs of 106ºf.

4. Ghadames, Libya
Known as the pearl in the desert because of its white mud-huts this town has a daily average high temperature of 104ºf and once recorded a temperature of 131ºf!

3. Kebili, Tunisia
Another desert town also boasting similar numbers, Kebili has also recorded a high temperature of 131ºf and daily high temp averages of 106ºf.

2. Aziziyah, Libya
Formally the hottest place on earth recording a temperature of 136.4ºf in 1922 it was stripped of its title in 2012 due to a variety of factors, including the inexperience of the person who recorded it. It's a hot place though, with midsummer temperatures regularly topping the 118º mark

1. Death Valley, California, USA
The driest place in the USA, it's also the hottest. In 1913 it recorded a temperature of 134ºf and has average daily highs of 116º in midsummer. meaning that whomever named it Death Valley knew what he was doing!
