This was my first full day in Java and I decided to visit Mt BROMO ???? and I also decided to finally visit Jodipan. Jodipan used to be one of the poorest villages in Indonesia until eight PR students from a close by university had the idea to collaborate with a local paint company and paint every square inch of the slum in color!!???? Inspired by the favelas in Rio, Brazil, Jodipan is a true eyecatcher now and attracts many tourists. This makeover has revitalized the entire community and significantly raised their standard of living since many residents got inspired to improve sanitation to keep the river & village clean. Also, tourists can support the residents by buying snacks and drinks from food stall. Since it is such a photogenic spot now, raise a lot of awareness through Social Media. What a story!!

I stayed at a budget capsule hotel in modern Jakarta, Indonesia! for only $10.00 USD I was able to rent a king sized capsule at Bobobox pods, a capsule company conveniently located inside of one of Jakarta's many malls. If you are trying to save some cash this is a decent place to do it.
You can control it with your phone, how cool is that. After I inspected the capsule and had a good nights sleep, I also enjoyed some nice mall food and drinks before setting out again.

Tour This Tranquil Buddhist Island Temple of Giant Statues
Thailand is home to over 40,000 Buddhist temples, but none of them is quite like Wat Plai Laem. Completed in 2004, the site is a collection of temples and statues located on Koh Samui, Thailand's second largest island. Wat Plai Laem's temples are active, set in a tranquil location, where quiet reflection is encouraged and appropriate attire is a must. One of the temple's most eye-catching figures is a nearly 100-foot tall statue of Buddha, painted in bright red, white and gold. But the main statue is the Buddhist goddess of compassion and mercy, Guanyin. There, she is represented with 18 arms, which shows her ability to help many people in need at once.
