The Chandrashekhar(kapilash) Temple is situated in the north eastern part of Dhenkanal town, Orissa, India at a distance of 26 km from the district headquarters.
The temples are situated at a height of about 2239 feet from sea level.
There are two way to the temple. One is by climbing 1352 steps and the other is through traveling by the twisting way (BaraBanki).
The main tower of the temple is 60 feet tall.
During Sivaratri, Sitala Sasthi, Karthik Sombar (karthik ke mahina)
people all over from India is coming here for Lord Chandra Sekhar.
In the month of june Sitala Sasthi Jatra ( Sitala Sasti Parba )
or Siba Bibaha is going to celebrate like Maha Sivaratri.
If you are near at Dhenkanal or if you really want to enjoy the festival then go to Kapilash Temple for #SitalaSasthi .
During SRABAN MASA (Sawan ka mahina) we were there in Dhenkanal. Bolbam is the main attraction on that day at Kapilash temple,Dhenkanal.

Kapilash Temple, known as the Chandrashekhar Temple is situated in the north eastern part of Dhenkanal town, Odisha, India at a distance of 80 km from the state capital Bhubaneswar.There are two road to reach the temple. One is by climbing 1352 steps and the other is through Barabanki or travelling by ghati road. King Narasinghdeva of Ganga Dynasty constructed the temple for Sri Chandrasekhar in 1246 CE .The main temple height is approx.60 feet .
