Visiting Šakiai district, Lithuania | Road trip guide
It's time for Šakiai - finally the other side of the wonderful Panemuniai road trip. Somehow I managed to drive many times through Jurbarkas side, but this was my first time dedicating a trip to Šakiai side of Panemuniai Regional Park and it did not disappoint. Tall Sudargas hill forts, several manor houses, river street, local winery and more can be found there.
Zypliai manor house and Zanavykai museum were yet another great highlight of the trip, with an interesting restaurant too which I will definitely come back one day!

Visiting Kaunas, Lithuania | Travel guide from a local
Hello everyone and welcome to Kaunas - the second largest city in Lithuania. I'm so exited to make this video because I grew up in Kaunas and want to show you all what the city has to offer.
Some of the famous places are: Kaunas gothic old town and centre, Pažaislis monastery and Kaunas reservoir with a yacht club, old city funiculars, numerous museums and galleries including museum of Lithuania's most famous painter and composer M. K. Čiurlionis, and a quirky Devil's museum. In Kaunas you can also learn a lot about soviet past from its unique shops and cafes still left in the centre, and 9 fort museum which is infamous for its role in the second world war.

Kretinga - tropical, Japanese and Baltic in one place | Lithuania travel guide
Hello everyone and welcome to Kretinga district, the place where you can find Baltic, Japanese and tropical places to go to
Kretinga district really surprised me with its variety of parks, not only it has beautiful Salantai Regional Park, but there also is a a tropical winter garden in Kretinga manor house, a Baltic Mythology Park in the middle of the forest and one of the largest Japanese garden in Europe!
I enjoyed seeing each of these, and would definitely recommend to go there for anyone who's planning to travel close by.

Travel guide to provincial Kelmė district and its surprises
Hi, here's another municipality video - Kelmė district located in the west of Lithuania in the lands of Samogitia.
It was my first time visiting it and it genuinely surprised me, how beautiful and taken care of the district is. The locals were so friendly and the amount of local sights were also just too many - I enjoyed every bit of the trip.
Tytuvėnai Regional Park alone is worth staying the night to enjoy its surroundings well.

What to do in Marijampolė, Lithuania? | Via Baltica
Welcome to Marijampolė, Lithuanian city perfect for a stop while driving through Via Baltica highway. Capital of historical Suvalkija region Marijampolė greets its visitors with an amazing synergy of old and new. City's old town is decorated with contemporary art murals from the yearly international festival Malonny. At the same time the city is famous for its Marian monastery and the basilica of St. Michael the archangel. What a contrast ????
Outside the city there also is some beautiful nature at Žuvintas Biosphere Reserve, with 2 cognitive trails available. ????????????
Unfortunately I've lost most of the footage from Bukta trail, but I promise you that it's awesome place for a walk for nature lovers! ????????????

Top sights around Klaipėda, Lithuania
Hello everyone and welcome to Klaipėda district, the outskirts of Klaipėda city, but definitely not boring!
I visited this region many times and the footage in this video is actually from a few different trips. One of the days I was really unlucky with the weather, but that didn't stop me from filming ????
There is so much to do in Klaipėda district - from the most popular sights like Olando kepurė (Dutchman's cap), Seaside Regional Park and Karklė, Dreverna resorts, to plenty of water activities, like kite surfing, sailing and more. The historical sights also weren't forgotten - Memel Nord bunker, Priekulė town and more.
Also special thanks to my sister, for some footage and pictures from her stay in Dreverna resort, which she really fell in love with during the summer.

Travel to Mažeikiai - remote Samogitian land in Lithuania | Travel guide
Welcome Mažeikiai district, Lithuania, one of the furthest places to go to from Vilnius. It's worth getting there, as the district has plenty of interesting sights to see: the only in Lithuania Gramophone museum, authentic XIX century pharmacy - museum, the home of the pioneer of Lithuanian aviation, the beautiful Renavas manor house and much more!
Mažeikiai district really impressed me, even though it was so far to drive to. It took me 2 days to see all the sights and I think it would be a great addition to a trip through Samogitia, combined with the nearby Akmenė district or Samogitia capital Telšiai.

Pagėgiai - what to see by the Lithuanian border next to Kaliningrad, Russia
Welcome to Pagėgiai - the gateway to Kaliningrad, Russia. This small municipality is situated right at one of the most important border points with Russia's Kaliningrad state.
As Pagėgiai is so small, there is not much to do here, but it's worth stopping at the Rambynas Regional Park if travelling in the area.
Also it is an interesting experience to go have a look at Tilžė / Tilsit / Sovetsk from the riverside and the old bridge connecting the countries.

Welcome to Molėtai - the amazing lake district in Lithuania. It is famous for Labanoras and Asveja regional parks, both having amazing lakes, vast forests and local sights to see. But here we can see much more than the lakes. It is home to the Astronomical observatory with the largest telescope in the northern Europe and ethno cosmology museum where we can get a close up of what humanity knows about space. ????✨????????????
It is quite close to Vilnius, so I was lucky to be able to come here a few times before finishing this video, as each place I visited was great and I've spent a lot of time at each of them, not wanting to leave ????
My tip for coming here would be to choose one or 2 places in the district for one day and not to hurry ????

Jurbarkas District Architecture
Belveder Manor Homestead
The word Belvederis is derived from two Italian words “bel” and “vedere” and means a place with a beautiful view if translated not strictly. Over time, the term, combined from those two words, started to be used in architecture for any structures intended to enjoy the beauty of surroundings. It could be a small pergola in a beautiful place in nature or an entire complex of a palace.

Both “the style of materials” and “the style of the homeland” by the German architectural historians are placed today under the same flag – the so-called Reform Architecture. It was kind of compromise of the early 20th century between the Historicism and modern principles of architecture of that time: although the straightforward interpretation of the old styles was refused, still the historic forms were used by stylizing them in the buildings complying with modern requirements.

Blessed Trinity Church
A new church was built in Jurbarkas between 1901 and 1907 and added to the increasing collection of Lithuanian Neo-Gothic shrines. It was in 1940 when a great fire ravaged the town and deteriorated the church among other buildings; before long, the whirls of the Second World War did great damage to the town and after that that sacred structure remained almost in ruins.

Manor House Of Veliuona Homestead Fragments
Veliuona estate, which was once one of the largest in the land by his holdings, underwent a great number of changes in the course of history. The last important period of its existence was related to the noble family Zaleski who owned it for more than a century, until 1909. It was during this period, at the beginning of the 19th century, that the manor house and the estate park which have survived up to the present day appeared.

St. George’s Church
Although the first project of the present Skirsnemunė church was drawn up by Ustinas Golinevičius in 1892, yet, the church had been completed under a different one by N. Andrejevas in 1903. Neo-Gothic forms were characteristic of churches of this architect, still they frequently used to be supplemented with other style elements as well. The church of Skirsnemunė was not an exception.

During the years of the battles between the Lithuanians and the crusaders, following the baptism of Samogitia, in 1421, Vytautas the Great established a parish in one of the main Lithuanian fortress in Veliuona and initiated the building of the area’s first Christian church. In 1636-1644, the Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Elder of the locality Albrycht Stanisław Radziłł built a new renaissance church.

What to see in Kazlų Rūda, Lithuania?
Hi, here's another municipality video - Kazlų Rūda. It's so close to Kaunas, but I've never went there before, mostly because it seemed like all forests there.
This time I visited Kazlų Rūda to find out if there is something to do there besides the mushroom picking.
One thing I didn't mention in the video, that a part of the forest is actually a military training zone, so it is better to stay away from the marked locations.
Also both in the museum and the cognitive trail all the information there was only written in Lithuanian... that's a pity...

Ю́рбаркас — город на западе Литвы.
Согласно «Хронике» Петра Дусбурга, новый ливонский магистр Тевтонского ордена Буркхард фон Хорнхаузен повелел, чтобы при равных затратах сил и средств братьев из Ливонии и Пруссии в 1259 году «был сооружён замок в земле Карсовии, на горе Святого Георгия, что было тогда крайне необходимо для упрочения веры христианской. Когда он был построен, для охраны упомянутого замка были оставлены благочестивые люди, отменные воины, братья и оруженосцы из Пруссии и Ливонии».
Название города восходит к немецкому названию крепости Георгенбург основанной крестоносцами в 1259. В речи местных жителей оно превратилось в Юргенборг, а затем и в Юрбаркас.
Панемунский замок. Это один из самых аутентичных литовских замков. За прошедшие века его архитектура мало изменилась, проект знаменитого архитектора того времени Петра Нонхарта представляет собой верх совершенства. Сдержанные и вместе с тем величественные формы говорят о размахе и величии венгерского вельможного рода Эперьешей. Замок был реконструирован новым собственником — хорунжим Великого княжества Литовского Антонием Гелгудом. Сегодня в замке проводятся художественные выставки, театрализованные выступления, ярмарки ремесел.
Раудонский замок. В 1337 году экспедиция Тевтонских рыцарей и других крестоносцев под руководством короля Богемии Иоганна и герцога Нижней Баварии Генриха XIV основала деревянно-земляной замок на реке Неман напротив руин Кристмемеля. В честь Генриха замок назвали по-немецки Байербург (или Байерсбург; нем. Bayerburg; лит. Raudonpilis), что означает «Замок баварцев.

Die Memel (litauisch: Nemunas) ist Litauens wichtigster und größter Fluss. Und wo keine Brücken vorhanden sind kann man wie mit dieser Fähre den Fluss überqueren.
