July in Cusco Peru - How to plan for the weather
At an altitude of 11,152 feet, Cusco weather can differ from lower elevations such as Ollantaytambo, Pisac and Machu Picchu.
June and July is the coolest time of year in Cuzco, lows average 31 F and highs average 67 F, which means you need to pack layers. Warmer clothes for the morning that you can take off in the afternoon, but be able to put back on in the evening and night.

In our visit to South America, our travels takes us first to Lima, Peru. It's our first time in Lima and it completely did not disappoint.

⭐⭐ LIMA HIGHLIGHTS⭐⭐
1. Since Peru is known for its food, take a cooking class or a food tour with a local. There are several you could book online. This was on our list, but unfortunately due to bad weather on our trip into Lima we missed a day and missed our cooking class.
2. Definitely visit Parque del Amor. A gorgeous park is in the Miraflores neighborhood. Excellent spot to catch a sunset, soak up the positive energy and even capture some incredible photos.
3. Take a nice drive ( 4 hours) to Huacachina and experience the incredible Sand Dune buggy and Sand Surfing. Great little shops in the area and wonderful spots to eat lunch.
4. If you're going to be in Huacachina, stop at a the restaurant/winery called El Catador in ICA. The food and drinks are delicious. We tried a native dish Carapulcra Sopa Seca and Carapulcra Arroz Verde.
5. Boat Tour to the Ballestas Island to see the Penguins and incredible birds and wildlife. ( VERY touristy and can get VERY busy so get there early.
6. In Miraflores, the malecon runs along the coast for miles. You'll see many people out either running, walking, biking. There's even a dog park and playgrounds. So something or everyone.
7. Visit Plaza de Armas both during the day and at night. The churches and other buildings are spectacular. You can also visit the San Francisco Church and the famous catacombs there.
At night Plaza de Armas is stunning visual treat.
See the oldest fountain in Lima, Peru there and if yo ugoing to be traveling to Lima in July..on July 26th they fill the fountain with Pisco for everyone to drink. ( BONUS)
8. The place in Lima we had Ceviche was called Sabor a Peru in the City Center..not our favorite but we did have it at night, and apparently you should have Ceviche during the day and certainly by lunch time. We weren't impressed with the restaurant but that's just our opinion.

Playas de arena Blanca a casi 4000 metros sobre el nivel del Mar, Lugares únicos y hermosos, Tu te merece estar aquí y disfrutar de un chapuzón en el Lago navegable MÁS ALTO DEL MUNDO.

En el distrito de Pomata, provincia de Chucuito se ubica la playa de Chatuma, una de las más concurridas, principalmente por los turistas extranjeros, el lugar es mágico y tiene unas enormes rocas que la cubren y se deslizan por una planicie extensa.
Para el especialista en proyectos de inversión en Desarrollo Turístico de la Universidad Nacional del Altiplano, Efraín Mamani Quispe, la principal dificultad está en la promoción de las playas puneñas, actividad que recae en manos de las autoridades locales.
“Si alguien que cree lo contrario, les decimos que Puno tiene sus playas y son hermosas, gracias al Titicaca. Lo que hace falta es la promoción de ellas para que haya un flujo turístico”, señaló.
Indicó que las playas puneñas más promocionadas son Capachica, Charchas y Chatuma, pero aún falta el impulso necesario para que los visitantes nacionales y extranjeros los tomen en cuenta en sus paquetes de viaje.
Por su parte, la directora de Comercio Exterior y Turismo (Dircetur) Puno, Lourdes Abarca Fernández, indicó que están promoviendo un programa desde su sector para promover el desarrollo turístico de las playas.
“Con el apoyo de las comunidades, los operadores turísticos, el apoyo de los municipios y la región es posible promover las playas de Puno”, expresó.

If you're planning to visit Lima, Peru, there are some important things you should know. [Peru travel 2019]

After traveling in Mexico for about 15 months, we decided it was time to visit another Spanish-speaking country. When some airplane tickets to Lima, Peru went on sale, we couldn't pass up the opportunity! That's what originally brought us to Lima where we experienced a bit of culture shock and made a few mistakes during our trip.
In this Lima 2019 vlog, we decided to share the biggest mistakes we think travelers are likely to make in the city. In this travel vlog, we talk about the biggest mistakes you can make in Lima, including:
- A common Lima candy you shouldn't take back on the plane;
- The local currency and how you can pay;
- The price of transportation in Lima and which is the best option to choose;
- A local beverage you should be very careful with;

Need to know what the best time to travel to Machu Picchu? This video breaks down the top 3 months to head to Machu Picchu. We look at a combination of crowd factor, weather, and cost to give you the best possible month to go to Machu Picchu.
Here at Cachi, we feel like we've come up with a solid guide breaking down three key components that we think are the most important when traveling to Machu Picchu. These three categories are crowds, costs, and weather.
Our champion, the one month of the year that we think it's best to travel to Machu Picchu is June. Why June? It's got the best weather next to July and its attendance on average is a lot less than it would be in July. Sure, the prices are still within that high season, but you get the best of what we think are the most important middle to lower crowds and no rain.

Why You Should Travel to Peru by TourRadar

In Peru the crime rate is relatively low, with pickpocketing being the most common problem that travellers will encounter. As long as you employ basic travel precautions and keep your wit’s about you should reduce the likelihood of any unfriendly or dangerous encounters.
To make the most of your next adventure to Peru, consider booking a tour to ensure your trip is fun, informative and hassle-free:
Next, comes the best part – planning your itinerary. Naturally, most travellers will want to visit Machu Picchu, and for good reason, but there are a few more destinations you need to visit. At the Colca Canyon, you can explore the deep river canyons where you can enjoy a spot of rafting or go trekking through the diverse terrain of the surrounding area. Next, make time to visit Lake Sandoval where you will find a large jungle lake surrounded by different types of rainforest and wildlife. Another notable destination is Huacachina, a desert oasis surrounded by palm trees and believed to host therapeutic properties. Each of these astounding destinations will leave you with lasting memories.
Once you’ve decided where to go, the next most important part of the equation is when you should jump on a plane to Peru. If trekking is the number one reason for you to visit Peru, the best time to travel is during July to August when the weather is at its finest. If possible, avoid the rainy season from December to January as some roads and trails may be subject to severe flooding. If trekking is not for you, you can still travel through the rainy season but just make sure you pack your best waterproof gear.

In this Peru Travel Guide Ep. 1, we dive into Plaza Mayor or Plaza de Armas of Lima, is the birthplace of the city of Lima, as well as the core of the city. Located in the Historic Centre of Lima, it is surrounded by the Government Palace, Cathedral of Lima, Archbishop's Palace of Lima, the Municipal Palace, and the Palace of the Union.
Many of you asked us to come back to Peru, and so, here we are. We want to THANK YOU for the recommendations and tips. We’ll be putting those to good use on this trip.
Things to do in Plaza De Armas Lima, Peru
- Government Palace - See the changing of the guard. It’s everyday at noon
- Casa del Oidor - House of Lima’s colonial magistrate. Not open to the public but gorgeous to see.
- Archbishop’s Palace of Lima
- Cathedral of Lima
- Palace of the Union
- Municipal Palace aka City Hall
Southern side of Plaza de Armas
Central Fountain ( In the video we share with you some amazing history and an interesting fact about this fountain.)
Note: Just be aware that Plaza d Armas aka Plaza Mayor in Lima Peru is one of the main tourist attractions in Lima, Peru.

Our adventures begin in Lima Peru. There are so many things to do in Lima. In this travel video we take a trip from Lima to Paracas, then to the deserts of Huacachina Ica, visiting this famous spot, which has a population of around 100 people, the off to stopping at popular restaurant and winery in Huacachina, then back to Lima to focus on Plaza de Armas and the historic district. It's absolutely beautiful at night. You will see the incredible detail in the buildings, the fountain known for it's fertility powers, including the famous San Francisco church where 1000's of Catacombs have been buried | Lima 2019
