As narrativas são desenvolvidas numa abordagem que problematiza historiografias oficiais, que secularmente silenciaram memórias, buscando contar a história daqueles que nunca tiveram direito à história.
O espaço fica localizado no prédio do Centro Cultural José Bonifácio, Gamboa.
O Centro Cultural José Bonifácio foi restaurado em 2013 pela Prefeitura do Rio. Fundado em 1877 por Dom Pedro II como a primeira escola pública da América Latina, o palacete faz parte do Circuito Histórico e Arqueológico da Celebração da Herança Africana.
O museu conta a história da região que testemunhou o maior desembarque de africanos escravizados no mundo, de importantes marcos de afirmação negra no Brasil e do desenvolvimento da cultura afro-brasileira, bem como debate os conceitos e a situação da negritude no Brasil hoje.
A região tem papel fundamental no resgate, na preservação e revitalização da memória afro-brasileira.
É formado por dois elementos chave:
1.MUHCAB | Centro de Referência Afro-Brasileiro e Afro-Atlântico: Na Escola José Bonifácio
2.MUHCAB | Território: Museu a Céu Aberto, composto por 15 lugares prioritários de memória:

CAIS DO VALONGO
O Cais do Valongo foi o local por onde desembarcaram milhares de africanos escravizados entre o final do século XVIII e o início do século XIX.
É um símbolo material da memória da escravidão africana e das heranças culturais delas decorrentes.
Considerado o maior sítio de memória da Diáspora Africana fora da África.
Representa para o Brasil parte da história da colonização portuguesa e um local de memória para relembrar e refletir sobre a violência contra a humanidade representada pela escravidão, fortalecendo as responsabilidades históricas do Estado brasileiro.
Principal porto de entrada de africanos escravizados no Brasil e nas Américas, o Cais do Valongo, localizado no Rio de Janeiro (RJ), passou a integrar Lista do Patrimônio Mundial da Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura (UNESCO), em 1º de março de 2017.
O Brasil recebeu perto de quatro milhões de escravos, durante os mais de três séculos de duração do regime escravagista.
Pelo Cais do Valongo, na região portuária da cidade, passou cerca de um milhão de africanos escravizados em cerca de 40 anos, o que o tornou o maior porto receptor de escravos do mundo.

O José Bonifácio Esporte Clube foi fundado no dia 1° de Fevereiro de 1961, em José Bonifácio-SP.
O Clube entrou no profissionalismo em 1972 é foi campeão do Paulista A3 no mesmo ano. Em 1973 disputava pela 1a vez a Série A2 do Campeonato Paulista.
Mas, ele retornou ao Futebol Paulista em 2006, quando o clube tinha problemas financeiros, fizeram que o José Bonifácio iria licenciar das competições profissionais.
O Clube participou dos Campeonatos Profissionais de 1972 a 2019.
O José Bonifácio, tinha o Hino Oficial.
Mas, ele copiava o Hino do São Paulo que ele pegasse um plágio de uma música oficial que significaria: Ctrl+C e Ctrl+V
Quando o Clube tinha 3 cores, chamava Tricolor do Vale que não copiaria a parte do Hino do São Paulo: Salve o Tricolor Paulista, amado o povo brasileiro que tornaria o pior hino do Futebol Brasileiro de todos os tempos.

The Historic Center of São Paulo (or simply Centro) is a neighborhood in the Central Zone of the city of São Paulo, in Brazil. It corresponds to the region where the city was founded, on January 25, 1554, by the Jesuit priests Antônio de Vieira, José Anchieta and Manoel da Nobrega. It is formed by the districts of Sé and República. It contains most of the buildings that depict the city's history, such as the Pátio do Colégio, the place of its foundation.
In the region, there are several cultural centers, bars, restaurants, museums, most of the tourist attractions in the city and government offices in the municipality and the state.

Mesmo após 40 anos, o Centro ainda guarda muitos encantos que é possível observar em passeios a pé, como os gratuitos organizados pela Secretaria Estadual do Esporte e Turismo, onde os paulistanos e visitantes podem descobrir ou redescobrir essa região e observar como mais diversas construções, como: o Banco São Paulo, edifício hoje utilizado pela Secretaria de Turismo do Estado de São Paulo; a Bolsa de Valores, Mercadorias e Futuros de São Paulo, onde, por meio de um telão, é possível observar um movimento das operações; o Mosteiro de São Bento (São Paulo), local onde, aos domingos, são realizadas missas às 10 horas da manhã; o Edifício Martinelli, primeiro arranha-céu da América do Sul; uma Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo; o Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, que possui salas de expetativas, cinema, teatro, restaurante, auditório, livrarias etc.

Museum of AfroBrasilian History and Culture PArt III
The MUHCAB is made up of a set of mixed typology collections, following the hybrid characterization of the museum. The main differential is its proposal of action, whose mission is to articulate the mobile and immovable, individual and collective aspects of Afro-Brazilian history using the entire Little Africa region and all related heritage.
Currently, the general collection of the museum is composed of movable and immovable assets of a different nature. Each typology requires different ways of cataloging and indexing information. Initially, real estate not necessarily under the legal responsibility of the MUHCAB or the City of Rio de Janeiro, but located in the region of the territory museum and considered protagonists of the developed historical narrative, are also foreseen as main components of the museum.
Included in the scope of its mission are the stories and perspectives of contemporary and modern black movements, of fundamental importance for the narrative construction of the museum.
MUSEOLOGICAL COLLECTION
The MUHCAB's museum collection includes painting and sculpture items from different moments in Carioca's history and from different moments in the history of the main building, from its creation as Escola José Bonifácio to the period when it was a Cultural Center and was us in moments of the history of the black movement in Rio de Janeiro. It includes paintings by masters Heitor dos Prazeres and Manezinho de Araújo, as well as figures such as Nelson Sargento and local artists involved with the José Bonifácio Cultural Center. It presents a collection of photographs from the FUNDACEN Study Center and from the collection donated by actress Ruth de Souza.

O MUHCAB é constituído de um conjunto de acervos de tipologia mista, acompanhando a caracterização híbrida do museu. O principal diferencial é sua proposta de atuação, a qual tem por missão articular os aspectos móveis e imóveis, individuais e coletivos da história afro-brasileira utilizando toda a região da Pequena África e todo patrimônio referente.
Atualmente o acervo geral do museu é composto por bens móveis e imóveis de natureza diversa. Cada tipologia requer distintas formas de catalogação e indexação de informações. Inicialmente estão também previstos como componentes principais do museu bens imóveis não necessariamente sob responsabilidade jurídica do MUHCAB ou da Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro, mas localizados na região do museu de território e considerados protagonistas da narrativa histórica desenvolvida.
Inserido no escopo de sua missão estão às histórias e perspectivas dos movimentos negros contemporâneos e modernos, de fundamental importância para a construção narrativa do museu.
