In this extreme Nigeria travel experience to Gembu, in the Mambila Plateau, we journeyed by road for 20hours and at some point, on a canoe carrying our bus and entire passengers to cut short the journey. The Mambilla Plateau is a plateau in the Taraba State of Nigeria, the plateau is Nigeria's northern continuation of the Bamenda Highlands of Cameroon. The Mambilla Plateau has an average elevation of about 1,600 meters (5,249 ft) above sea level, making it the highest plateau in Nigeria.

Up In The Clouds of the Mambilla Plateau
Hello everybody welcome back to my channel FunmiAjalaTravels.
Happy New Year, welcome to 2021. Thank God we made it. 2020 was quite a lot for everyone, with the pandemic and all. Please do remember to stay safe, use your mask and sanitize your hands.
I made a promise to not spend Christmas and New Year where I live and work but to travel to a different place. Also, that is the time I get to travel and get some time off work.
This New Year was spent in a place with a temperature of about 10 degrees and at about 4,423ft above sea level, and it's in Nigeria.
Welcome to Gembu in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State. It sits on top of the Mambilla plateau.
This is a snippet from my adventure on January 1st, 2021. Because I wanted landscape pictures I went chasing nature around me. I love taking nature, landscapes, cultures, festivals to mention a few of what the Channel is about for the new comers.
When I got to a certain level I held tight onto my bike man and asked if we could turn back as this does not look like a good idea. Ibrahim my bike man laughed and said it's alright. I really don’t think so at the point where I was over 2,000 feet above sea level going on a daredevil adventure. I was practically dirt biking along the unguarded bike trail of the Mambilla.
I was glad I braced my fear for the beautiful view on the other side was breathtaking.
Nigeria is too blessed as a nation, that is surely a discussion for another day.

Brief Overview of TIV Tribe and the Colonies | Benue State, Nigeria
Tiv language is a branch of Benue–Congo and ultimately of the Niger–Congo phylum.
Tiv kingdom Ancestry is traced to an ancient individual named Tiv, who had two sons; ( Ichongo an Ipusu ). Tiv people consider themselves as a member of either Ichongo (descendants of Chongo) or of Ipusu (descendants of son Pusu).
Ichongo and Ipusu are each divided into several major branches called ''ipaven''.
Tiv people depend on agricultural produce for commerce and livelihood.
Members of the Tiv kingdom are found in many places across the globe, including the United States and United Kingdom.

Kaduna is the state capital of Kaduna State in north-western Nigeria, on the Kaduna River, is a trade center and a major transportation hub for the surrounding agricultural areas with its rail and road junction. The population of Kaduna was at 760,084 as of the 2006 Nigerian census. Rapid urbanization over the past decade has created an increasingly large population, now estimated to be around 1.3 million. Kaduna's name derives from the Hausa word kada for crocodile (kaduna being the plural form)Kaduna is an industrial center of Northern Nigeria, manufacturing products like textiles, machinery, steel, aluminium, petroleum products and bearings. However, the textile industry has been declining because of factory closings due to neglect during military rule and competition with Chinese imports. Automobile manufacturing also remains an important part of Kaduna's economy.[2] Pottery is highly prized from Kaduna, especially from the Nok culture, which precedes Abuja and Minna. Other light manufactures include: plastics, pharmaceuticals, leather goods, furniture, and televisions.[4] Some of the main agricultural exports include: cotton, peanuts, sorghum, and ginger.[10]
One of Nigeria's four main oil refineries is located in Kaduna. It is supplied by a pipeline from the Niger Delta oil fields.[4]
A 2009 World Bank survey states that Kaduna is one of the top six cities with the highest unemployment. 20% of the population is estimated to be unemployed.[2]
The main highway through the city is called Ahmadu Bello Way. Many of the place names come from past sultans, emirs and decorated Civil War heroes. Kaduna has a large market, recently rebuilt after an extensive fire in the mid-1990s.
There is a large racecourse, approximately 1.6 kilometres (1 mi) round, inside which the Ahmadu Yakubu Polo Club and Kaduna Crocodile Club are situated, whilst the Kaduna and Rugby Clubs are on the periphery.
There are two airports, one of which is Kaduna Airport. Chanchangi Airlines has its head office in Kaduna.[11]
Kaduna also has a branch of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.[4]
