Barra de Jangada é uma praia na cidade de Jaboatão dos Guararapes, região metropolitana da grande Recife. Não é um lugar turístico. Muitos moradores de bairros mais afastados a procuram por ser bastante popular. A única atração é a Ilha do Amor que tem acesso de barco por uma pequena quantia.

Praia de Barra de Janganda
Pequena praia que fica na foz do Rio Jaboatao , lado sul da região metropolitana do Recife. Nao tem infraestrutura a praia é linda mas o município de Jaboatao nao cuida de nada. lamentável. Se essa praia fosse e um pais de primeiro mundo seria outra historia .

Um lugar reinventado...
Quando conheci a região, a impressão que se tinha era a de que o mundo terminava ali. Nada de ponte para a ilha do Amor, que não é uma ilha, mas, apenas, a margem direita do rio Jaboatão em sua foz. A estrada de Curcurana era o elo entre Barra de Jangada e o litoral sul. Ir às praias do Cabo de Santo Agostinho era uma odisseia. Nada mais há que lembre a Barra de Jangada com o seu antigo paredão de contenção do mar, nem da mata da restinga que se estendia até os charcos do manguezal. Por outro lado, a chegada do progresso colocou Barra de Jangada no jogo do turismo. Nunca imaginei que veria espigões na orla do antigo paredão, e muito menos que um desses edifícios fosse um baita de um hotel, elegante e moderno, cujo maior chamariz é justamente o topo, com vista panorâmica para o fim do mundo. Sim, todo mundo dizia que Barra de Jangada era o fim do mundo. Pois, muito bem; o fim do mundo foi transferido para algum outro lugar. A praia continua poluída, as cercanias seguem perigosas, é ainda experimental a atividade do turismo por aquelas bandas. Mas, pelo que pude ver na última visita, conhecê-la é muito mais do que necessário, é conveniente. O fim do mundo é, hoje em dia, o portal de todo o celebrado litoral sul de Pernambuco. E está na hora de recompensar Barra de Jangada por todo o tempo de descaso, de abandono, de desleixo. O lugar merece e, o seu povo, mais ainda.

A praia de Piedade faz fronteira com a praia de Boa Viagem, mas na maior parte de sua extensão não tem avenida entre os prédios e a areia. Assim, é uma praia mais familiar, sem quiosques à beira mar. O banhista tem à sua disposição apenas os ambulantes ou bares dos hotéis à beira mar, que oferecem cadeiras, guarda-sóis, petiscos e bebidas. Tem em quase toda sua extensão recifes, possibilitando a formação de piscinas naturais na baixa-mar. Na maré alta o risco de visitas de tubarão é uma realidade, como em todo litoral da região.
