It's a great way to see the areas east of New York City (which is Long Island). I use it to go to Far Rockaway beach, Citifield for a Mets game, and Billie Jean King/Arthur Ashe for the US Open Tennis. But how do you take the LIRR? How do you ride the Long Island Rail Road? Exploring California's Highway 39 - Closed For Over 40 Years
California State Route 39 as it heads into the mountains north of Azusa has been called California's Forbidden Highway or California's Forgotten Highway, as the last four and a half miles of it have been closed since 1978, preventing it from connecting with State Route 2. Because of the closure and dead end, the road sees very little traffic, despite being only miles from the second largest city in the United States.
In this video, we drive up the road through the Angeles National Forest (the same road part of Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift was filmed on) and check out what there is to see along the way. We then explore the section of road that has been closed for over 40 years, a road that was once considered one of the most scenic in California.

Fire Island is 31 miles long and 2 - 3 blocks wide and is comprised of 18 distinct communities.
The Fire Island Lighthouse is a visible landmark on the Great South Bay in Suffolk County, New York on the western end of Fire Island, a barrier island off the coast of Long Island. The lighthouse is located within Fire Island National Seashore and just to the east of Robert Moses State Park. It is part of the Fire Island Light Station which contains the light, keepers quarters, the lens building containing the original first-order Fresnel lens, and a boat house.
The First Lighthouse stone foundation completed in 1826 at 89 feet above sea level is still present to be visited and photographed, the full first lighthouse was taken down after the present 1858 lighthouse was lit.
The Fire Island Lighthouse Gift Shop, and Museum are open to visitors.

FIRE ISLAND in DECEMBER: Barrier Island off New York's Long Island
Fire Island is a popular summer destination off the South Shore of Long Island in the Atlantic Ocean. However, in December, the entire island is essentially a ghost town. This tour goes through the main population centers, in the town of Islip, going from Robert Moses State Park (not labeled in the video) to Ocean Beach, going through a few hamlets and two of the smallest villages in New York: Saltaire and Ocean Beach.
Even though practically no one lives here in December, there were many friendly landscapers, maintenance workers, and police officers present. All footage is from December 16th, 2019.
