While we were waiting for the paint on Seefalke to dry, we had plenty of time to explore the beautiful beaches and a few other points of interest in the area. While lots of sailors take long trips to Rio de Janeiro or Belem we rather wanted to explore the vicinity of Cabedelo. This video is our personal best-of the most stunning beaches of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba and Pernambuco. We picked beaches with very different character, from quiet to touristy, from city to nature…
Make sure you check them out while you are anchored or moored in Jacare Village.
Tabatinga is a quiet beach off the beaten path about one hour drive from Joao Pessoa in Paraíba state. There is no touristical infrastructure but the scenery is unreal.
If you want to stay in the city, then Tambaú is the place to be. A beautiful beach downtown Joao Pessoa with sports facilities and plenty of restaurants and stores. This is where the locals go on weekends.
If you want it more touristy, you have to go to Pipa, two hours north of Joao Pessoa, just south of Natal in Rio Grande do Norte. The little town Pipa has all amenities for tourists but is also crowded any time of the year. This is the only place where some English was spoken.
An alternative to Pipa is Porto de Galinhas south if Recife in Pernambuco. There is a lot of fun stuff to do like beach buggies, wind surfing or horseback riding but it is not as crowded as Pipa.
If you need some beach break, take a two-hour drive inland and visit Inga Stone. Inga Stone is a rock with ancient inscriptions assumed to be 6,000 years old.

► Buzios: The official name of the city is 'Armação dos Búzios', but everyone just refers to it as 'Búzios'. This is a beach community in the state of Rio de Janeiro, and a popular getaway for Brazilians and Argentinians. Basically an unknown fishing village until the 1960s, it was made famous by French actress Brigitte Bardot.
► Rua das Pedras: Translating, the name means stones' street, and that's exactly what you'll see. More than that, it's Buzios' main street, with an active nightlife and a nice variety of shopping and restaurants.
► Orla Bardot: Named after Brigitte Bardot, this is the strip of land that connects Praia da Armação with Rua das Pedras, the main street in town. Brigitte Bardot is also honored along the oceanfront path with a bronze statue.
► Praia da Armação: This beach is located downtown, next to Rua das Pedras and in front of Orla Bardot. To this date, it is still full of fishing boats. Their old houses have been restored and are now lovely restaurants and pousadas. From this beach, you can get the boat tours to the various other beaches in Buzios.

Cabo Frio: the BEST beach in Brazil | travel vlog
Cabo Frio again! This is my favorite road trip from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Cabo Frio is 100 miles (160 km) from Rio, and in my opinion, this is the best beach in Brazil. Why? The color of the water is crystal clear, the sand is so white and fine, and the weather is great for most of the time.

► Cabo Frio: Cabo Frio is a city in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With no traffic, you can drive in two and a half hours (way more on holidays and weekends). It's famous for its white sand beaches with crystal clear and cold waters
► Praia do Forte (Forte Beach): This is Cabo Frio's most famous beach.
Overlooking the sea, on the far left, is 17th-century St Matthew fort with its rusted cannons. Entrance is free.

► Ilha do Japonês (Japanese island): Beautiful uninhabited island at the beginning of the canal which serves the region's Araruama lagoon. There's no infrastructure in the island, but more often than not there are vendors selling food and drinks. There's a kiosk in front of the island on the Peró side, and it's easy to walk across the sea during the low tide.
► Passagem: This is Cabo Frio's oldest area, now fully revitalized. The neighborhood features colonial houses, many of them are now bars and restaurants. From Passagem you can get the taxi-boat to Ilha do Japonês for 15 Brazilian Reais

BRAZIL BEACHES | Buzios Beach Resort - What's the coldest beach?
What I love most about Brazil: beaches! Buzios beach resort is a short road trip from Rio de Janeiro, just over 100 miles/160 km. In Buzios there are 23 beaches, very different from each other. In this vlog, I'll visit some of my favorites to try to find out if the water temperature really varies. The southside beaches receive the cold stream from Antarctica while the northside beaches receive the warm stream from the Equator.

This is a beach resort in the state of Rio de Janeiro and a popular getaway for Brazilians and Argentinians. ► Geriba beach: One of the most famous beaches of Buzios it runs for 2 kilometers (1.24 miles). With waves and an active ocean, it's perfect for surfing and wind sailing. It is surrounded by inns, bars, and restaurants and is a favorite of Brazilians.
► Ferradura beach: A modest beach with plenty to do. Calm waters entice families to spend the day and with plenty of stalls to service your hunger and thirst.
► Joao Fernandes beach: A beach with some of the calmest waters, it has easy access with plenty of accommodations on the surrounding hills. Any trip to Buzios should include a stop at this beach a 30-minute walking distance from town center.
► Porto da Barra: A complex of bars and restaurants on the shore perfectly situated to watch the sunset. Walk the jetty or stroll the beachside path and people watch closing out the day.

This is what we heard before we decided to go to Brazil. But that didn’t stop us. So during our 2 weeks in Brazil, we set out to determine if it is in fact as dangerous as everyone says it is. So is it safe for tourists? Brazil safety is a hot topic, especially on topics like, is rio safe, or is sao paulo safe. We know that crime in Brazil is higher than other countries, but we felt more on guard for scams than we ever did for serious crimes or petty theft.
We visited Rio de Janeiro, Paraty, and Sao Paulo and as foreigners in Brazil, we absolutely loved it. So after watching this video, do you think Brazil is safe for tourists?

No one can decipher the mysterious ancient petroglyphs on Brazil's Rock of the Ingá
In Brazil, countless figures and symbols are engraved into the Ingá Stone, located on the Ingá River. The Ingá Stone is composed of some basalt stones covered with symbols and glyphs which have been largely undeciphered. Some scholars believe the petroglyphs are of European origin, comprised of symbols from an ancient peoples in Iberian Peninsula. think it was created by natives that lived in the area until the 18th century. Recently, the main consensus among archaeologists is that most of the petroglyphs are carved in low relief, suggesting the representation of animals, fruits, human constellations like Orion and Milky Way, and other unrecognizable images. With only 2 full days left in Maringá and the weather always threatening rain, I set out to see 2 places which were closed the day before.
The Mark of the Tropic of Capricorn was a quick 15 minute drive from Centro. While not situated in a very glamorous part of the city, I was super happy to see this monument. The very simple shape and markings were enough for me to enjoy.
My Uber driver was fun to converse with on our way back to Centro. The final highlight of my day would be a walk through Parque do Ingá. While it was closed for maintenance the previous day, my luck was better today. I really did not have many expectations, so when I saw both a monkey and a capybara so close to me I could not have been more surprised and happy. The park was well maintained and they appear to be in the process of making improvements. If you visit Maringá, make sure to visit Parque do Ingá it is tranquil, peaceful and there are many birds singing.

Faltando apenas 2 dias completos para Maringá e o tempo sempre ameaçando chover, fui conhecer 2 lugares que estavam fechados no dia anterior.
O Marco do Trópico de Capricórnio ficava a 15 minutos de carro do Centro. Embora não esteja situado em uma parte muito glamorosa da cidade, fiquei super feliz em ver este monumento. A forma e as marcações muito simples foram suficientes para que eu gostasse.
Foi divertido conversar com meu motorista do Uber no caminho de volta ao Centro. O ponto alto do meu dia seria uma caminhada pelo Parque do Ingá. Embora estivesse fechado para manutenção no dia anterior, minha sorte foi melhor hoje. Eu realmente não tinha muitas expectativas, então quando vi um macaco e uma capivara tão perto de mim não poderia ter ficado mais surpreso e feliz. O parque foi bem conservado e eles parecem estar em processo de melhorias. Se você visitar Maringá, não deixe de visitar o Parque do Ingá, é tranquilo, sossegado e tem muitos pássaros cantando.
