Nigeria | Welcome to Oyo State Nigeria - A place of firsts

I have called Oyo a place of firsts because alongside the University of Ibadan, it is also home to one of the first TV stations in Africa NTA Ibadan, one of the first Skyscraper Cocoa house and the oldest stadium in Nigeria formerly known as Liberty Stadium now known as Obafemi Awolowo Stadium. The first African Bishop a formal Slave boy Samuel Ajayi Crowther who translated the bible to Yoruba Language is from Oyo.

A visit to Oyo affords you interactions with the Yoruba tradition (markets, festivals, music, food), history of education in Nigeria and beautiful landscapes starting from forests, rivers, rock formations and elevations.

A Strange Trip to Ibadan, Nigeria (#88)

And so we had arrived in Ibadan, the slightly quieter version of Lagos. If you were ever hit with the trivia question What is the oldest skyscraper in (tropical) Africa?, you probably wouldn't say the Cocoa House. But that is indeed the one, and it was a source of pride for not only Ibadan but all of Nigeria when it was finished in 1965. Sadly, it's best days are behind it. I wanted to try climbing to the top of it and see what remained of the former star of Ibadan.

In this video, I wanted to showcase $125/Night Airbnb in Ibadan, Nigeria. I definitely don't recommend this airbnb unless they fix the issues addressed in the video. It wasn't the owners fault. It was a mismanagement problem. The owner chose to issue me a refund which i appreciate. So I wont be putting up her airbnb link on here. I want to give her a chance to fix the issues.

IITA Ibadan: The best neighborhood in Nigeria (4K UHD)

IITA stands for International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, established in 1967 and operated in more than 10 sub-Sahara African nations. This institute got generous donations by Rockefeller Foundation and Ford Foundation, so the neighborhood of staff has been heavily influenced by north America. It's remind me of the my time in Virginia; To me, this is the best neighborhood in Nigeria, better than Lagos, Victoria Island, Abuja even Banana Island. Right now some of the facilities are available for visitors as resort, so if you plan a vacation this would be a great choice.
