5 Best Places to Visit in Normandy

Normandy may look pretty and serene today, but this province on the west coast of France hasn’t always been this way. From the ninth century onwards the region was colonized by the Vikings and took its current name, Normandy, the country of the Northmen. Over the next centuries, many battles were fought between England and France, but the biggest occurred in 1944 when Allied forces wrested it back from Nazi occupiers. As you roam the best places to visit in Normandy, you’ll come across these historic battlefields, as well as magnificent medieval buildings, gorgeous gardens and some pretty great food. Normandy celebrates its food with festivals devoted to such eats as cheese, black pudding and shrimp.

Normandy-Highlights: From Étretat-Cliffs to Honfleur city, visit Calvados Experience ║ Best places

Day 4 of 17: Early in the morning we drive from Fecamp to Etretat. There are a lot of beautiful trails along the high cliffs there, and if you are a early bird, then you can avoid the crowds.
We move on. The Calvados Experience - a multimedia show - is well worth seeing and a must if you are interested in Calvados. (Join Père Magloire; Route de Trouville, 14130 Pont-l’Evêque).
We return to Honfleur and discover the old town. A bit overcrowed, but still nice. Here we stay for one night in Hôtel L' Ecrin; very beautiful.

Things to do in Honfleur, our final enchanting destination in Normandy | France Travel Vlog

#Honfleur is a little gem & is a favorite weekend trip from Paris.

We get to know about #Honfleur by Philip and Anna in @HowToRenovateAChateau  - and we were enchanted by its charming look.

We set ourselves to visit there one day - which finally came true during our #normandy trip ????.

#Honfleur is a medieval harbor city with many distinctive characteristics. Colorful half-timbered houses, chilling vibes, old churches, old stone roads. And of course - with fresh seafood ????.

Highly recommend #Honfleur if you want to have a getaway weekend somewhere on the West coast of France - it is worth your visit.

P/s: We also saw Philip and Anna on the street (but we were shy to say hello to them ????).

Honfleur, France -- A quaint, charming day trip from Paris - Travel Vlog

Honfleur is the most adorable port town in Normandy. It's colorful harbor full of colorful boats, and the backdrop of the equally colorful buildings with slate rooftops is a painter's heaven. It's a simply charming city to wander around and soak it all up. Don't miss the opportunity for some seafood - fruit de mer while you're there! Bon voyage!
