Holytown Daytime Freight Variety - 06-07-17

Returning to Holytown after a long absence, we had to hang on longer than on previous occasions due to the downturn in freight business.

However, in the company of mates Andi, Alex, Scott and Dave, we had a very good selection of locos and a bundle of laughs - I won't go into detail here!

I must apologise for the shaky and jerky cam pans and vertical lifts due to a tripod I was testing for a friend, Not a success and I'll be back to my trusty Velbon on the next trip! Also my titles seem to have slipped on the timeline between editing and producing but too late to rectify.

However the locos on show were impressive with several DB Cargo sheds one of which in double headed mode was in spectacular clag form. I also saw my first class 88 in action and on diesel power as she drifted down the grade into Mossend East yard; the panto clearly down.
We had two 37s tnt on 1Q75 in classic 37 clag form with the drivers clearly enjoying the show. This included the iconic SRPS loan loco 37025 ably backed up by 37219.
A couple of 68s on ecs duties
Two class 90s on 4S44 having ousted the unreliable class 70s. Speaking of which, we had a Colas 70802 on the Dalston tanks.
I have also included for the first time some dmu moves which will eventually be replaced when the Glasgow to Edinburgh electrification scheme is completed, supposedly in 2018/9.

I've also included a rare move involving emu 318262 running from Anderston just outside Glasgow Central low level station to Carstairs one way then running ecs back to Glasgow

My thanks go to the guys for some great laughs and to Graeme MacD for the traffic lists.

Hope you enjoy!

And my FAVORITE PLACE on EARTH is...

In this video I talk about some of my favorite countries and the most incredible places I've seen during my travels around the world.
