Gateway to Western Pennsylvania | Altoona, PA

Our Atlantic-Appalachia Tour has come to an end, and for our final destination we halt at a familiar environment, Pennsylvania. This time though, we explore a city located in the Keystone State's western half, a city whose history has long been about connecting the two halves of the state. This area developed as a railroad hub, where at the time, efficient freight transportation was difficult to come by. Although the glory days of the railroad have waned a bit, a variety of other industry has blessed this city. Watch as we get the opportunity to discover all there is to Altoona, the mountainous Pennsylvanian city with a blue collar charm!

Come with me as I take you on a short drive through historic main street Hollidaysburg Pennsylvania.

---history---
From 1834 to 1854, the borough was an important port on Pennsylvania Main Line Canal, where the Juniata Division Canal connected to the Allegheny Portage Railroad.

The center of Hollidaysburg is frequently referred to as The Diamond, where the buildings and parking spaces form a diamond. This area serves as the hub for parades, festivals and other town celebrations.

A Haunted Hotel: The US Hotel, Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania

The U.S. Hotel in historic Hollidaysburg is known throughout Central Pennsylvania as a paranormal hot spot. The 1st floor restaurant has great chow that features homestyle cooking. The mac & cheese is top notch and the wings are also a must try. They also have a full bar and live music.

After filling up on their great comfort food and delicious deserts, we ventured upstairs as we had heard this place has quite a haunted history. Full-bodied apparitions, footsteps, disembodied voices, plates breaking, flying silverware, yeah...that kind of spooky shenanigans! See what we ran into on our visit to the US Hotel!

Abandoned Cokeville PA (near Blairsville) lost town tour complete! Beginning to end 4/10/2021

I have Done several Cokeville videos over the years in various sections. I have finally put together a 100% complete beginning to end tour of the town that was taken in 1952 for the Conemaugh Dam. We had a beautiful day and much of the road is still intact. All of the buildings are long gone and there is no trace that the town ever existed.

World's Oldest Coaster - Leap the Dips POV, Altoona, PA

The World's oldest roller coaster, built in 1902 and located at Lakemont Park in Altoona Pennsylvania, United States. Leap the Dips Mounted On Ride POV, 60fps 4K Ultra HD. There is absolutely zero stabilization on the camera so you can see how the ride actually feels to be on it, with little dips and bumps in between every single support, it's quite the one-of-a-kind feeling. As you go up the lift hill you can also see the anti-rollbacks move with the vehicle. The average speed of the ride is just 10mph, but the feel of the coaster is unlike anything else as you bob up and down. It's definitely worth a stop and something every coaster enthusiast has to try!

I've been by this coaster many times when it wasn't operating and finally was able to ride in 2020. The coaster is OPEN this season surprisingly with the COVID-19 pandemic! Masks are required at Lakemont Park and while riding Leap the Dips. #WorldsOldest #RollerCoaster #ThemePark #LeapTheDips #Pennsylvania
