MAP OF UGANDA

greetings my friends. this is a map of Uganda. Its geography is very diverse consisting of volcanic hills, mountains, and lakes. The country sits at an average of 900 meters above sea level. Both the eastern and western borders of Uganda have mountains. The Ruwenzori mountain range contains the highest peak in Uganda, which is named Alexandra and measures 5,094 meters.

also , Much of the south of the country is heavily influenced by one of the world's biggest lakes, Lake Victoria, which contains many islands. The most important cities are located in the south, near this lake, including the capital Kampala and the nearby city of Entebbe. Lake Kyoga is in the centre of the country and is surrounded by extensive marshy areas.

Although landlocked, Uganda contains many large lakes. Besides Lakes Victoria and Kyoga, there are Lake Albert, Lake Edward, and the smaller Lake George. It lies almost completely within the Nile basin. The Victoria Nile drains from Lake Victoria into Lake Kyoga and thence into Lake Albert on the Congolese border. It then runs northwards into South Sudan. An area in eastern Uganda is drained by the Suam River, part of the internal drainage basin of Lake Turkana. The extreme north-eastern part of Uganda drains into the Lotikipi Basin, which is primarily in Kenya. thats all for now. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.

Uganda is known for ;
1. Rolex is a delicacy.
You’ve probably heard of the saying, Ugandans don’t wear a Rolex, they eat it! It is absolutely true, what we do with the Rolex is, roll it up and straight to the mouth. So here’s is the difference between the international Rolex and the Ugandan Rolex. In Uganda, we don't wear Rolex, we eat it.
2. Home to Iddi Amin.
One of Uganda's biggest exports is it's former president Iddi Amin who ruled the country from 1971-1979. He named himself the conqueror of the British Empire and he's also most famous for expelling Asian from the country in order to give back the Ugandan economy to Ugandans.
3. Equator crosses through Uganda.
Earth’s equator is an imaginary line dividing the North and South hemispheres. There are only a few countries that the equator runs through, including Ecuador and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In Uganda, the equator is located 75 km south of Kampala, where you can purchase memorabilia and watch cool equator water experiments.
4. Best African English-speaking Country.
Uganda is known as the number one African country when it comes to the English language. According to a study that was done by the World Linguistic society, it ranked Uganda as the African country with the best accent.
5. Most Entrepreneurial country in the world.
Uganda has the most number of business startups annually though many of these never get to celebrate their one year anniversary.
6. Home to the second-largest Fresh Water lake (Lake Victoria).
Its surface area more than 26,000 square miles, Lake Victoria (named for Queen Victoria) is the biggest lake on the continent of Africa and the globe’s second-largest freshwater lake, trailing North America’s Lake Superior.
7. Uganda has its own time.
You’re probably now wondering which kind of time only belongs to Uganda. I am not talking about the EAT, CAT, or PST time; our time is called “Ugandan time.” International or normal time as many call it is the real-time ( for example if the appointment is at 3 pm, normal time will be at 3 pm).
8. Source of the Nile.
River Nile which is the longest river in the world happens to have its source in Uganda. This river starts from Uganda nad it moves up north to Egypt whee it pours its waters in the Mediterenean sea.
9. Matooke/Banana Republic.
When you travel to Uganda, the most common local food you’ll hear about is Matooke.
10. Safest Country In Africa.
Many tourists that visit this country leave without any problems or incidents.

Welcome To My Home The Oil City

Welcome To My Home The Oil City

One of the biggest Cities in Uganda is Hoima preferably called the Oil city. Since the discovery of oil in the Albertine region that borders the district in the west, Hoima has grown into the limelight with eyes glued on commercial and oil-related industrial growth expected to be seen more in the next five years.

Hoima district lies in mid-western Uganda within the region that forms the Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom. This district is counted among the fastest-growing regions of Uganda.

Hoima is the seat of the Omukama (King) of Bunyoro! This town has so many cultural sites of the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom which once occupied the whole of western and parts of central Uganda.

By road-the town is 3 hours drive from Kampala, the capital of Uganda. There are taxis and buses that offer public transport to Hoima town. Alternative means such as car are available from Kampala’s tour operators and Travel Agents

Forget Kampala, HOIMA OIL CITY Is The Future!

Hoima town is one of the oldest towns in Uganda, having been established around 1899 as a colonial administrative town in Bunyoro kingdom. Originally the town was called Kahoora (meaning a place where people sold their crops).
“Hoima was derived from a small river along Butyaba road which was known to help locals cleanse their crops and themselves before coming into the trading centre (Kahoora). That process of cleaning themselves was called Hoimora,” Kyakuhaire narrates.
“When the British colonialists came, they would frequently find many people at the river and they could not pronounce the name Hoimora; instead they called it Hoima. After some time the name became common and it was accepted as a town and district name,
At Independence, Hoima was an entity within Bunyoro kingdom but when Ugandan Kingdoms were abolished in 1967, Bunyoro became a district. In 1974, Bunyoro was divided into North Bunyoro and south Bunyoro with the former becoming Masindi District and the latter becoming Hoima District in 1980.
In 2010, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) estimated the population of Hoima District at 499,100 and in 2011 the population was estimated at 523,400.For Hoima town, UBOS estimated its population at 40,600 and at 42,600 in mid-2011, but the Deputy mayor of Hoima Ronald Basiima believes that the figures have so far risen up to over 106,000 in Hoima Municipality.
As it is in the heart of Bunyoro kingdom, Hoima is predominantly occupied by the Banyoro who pay allegiance to Omukama (king) Iguru Gafabusa. It is in the heart of this town that you find the Omukama’s palace that was established by Omukama Duhaga around 1906 who was the son of Omukama Kabalega. The palace sits on a radius of 1km.
Omukama is the centre of unity among the Banyoro who come together in over 92 clans including the Ababito, Abanyinda, Abasiita and Abayaga among others. It is common practice in Hoima Town for Banyoro to bow their heads whenever the Omukama’s mot

Uganda | Sempaya Hot Springs - Semuliki National Park

Day two of my road trip in Uganda started in Hoima. We had a 196 KM drive to Fort Portal. On the plan was a visit to Sempaya Hot Springs - Semuliki National Park. From Fort Portal to the Hot springs is a scenic 61 KM drive that brings you to the Park Office where you pay your entry fees and then start the walk to visit the male and female hot springs of Sempaya.

Located in the Semuliki National Park national park these hot springs are a very impressive natural occurrence with the water reaching more than 95 degrees. This makes it perfect for a little cooking experience under the surveillance of your Park ranger. The Park is also famous for bird watching.

On the way to Fort Portal we passed a Tea Estate. Tea production and farming in general is a major source of lively hood in Uganda.
