Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Museum Vlog 29th October 2022

Join me has a have a weekend of vintage fun starting off at the Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Museum located in Manston in East Kent

I love aviation especially the old stuff, this small and educational museum is ace, there’s 2 small buildings each one housing a Super Marine Spitfire and the other housing a Hurricane

There loads to see and read throughout the small museum and there’s even a Spitfire simulator which is awesome, you sit in a mock-up Spitfire cockpit, i did very well indeed (see the pov)

There was also a RAF Museum across from the free on-site car park but unfortunately it had just closed when I walked up to it (something for another visit)

All footage was filmed in HD 1080p 50fps using a GoPro Hero 9 Black with official accessories

England Trip 2017: Dover Castle, Folkestone Sunset

The Saxon Shore Way: Dover to Folkestone 21 June 2019

Its been 8 months since I walked a section of the Saxon Shore Way. So here is the 6.5 mile section of the Way between Dover and Folkestone, mainly along coastal cliff top paths. The weather was superb and the coastal views outstanding. The walk took place on Friday 21 June 2019. WARNING: in the second half of the walk i.e. the part nearest Folkestone, the path goes very close to the cliff edge at times. I had to resort to using the parallel road for the last three quarters of a mile or so.

BRITAIN'S SECRET COLD WAR BUNKER -- HOPE COVE DEVON --

A small video made from clips of my trip to Hope Cove Nuclear Bunker aka RAF Bolts Head.

SubBrit:
Hope Cove was a World War II radar station. In the early 1950s it was revamped as part of the RAF's Rotor air defence scheme. It was one of five stations equipped with a type R6 (semi-sunk) bunker. The others were Hack Green, Langtoft, St. Twynells and Treleaver.

The video was recorded in Feb 2010 quite dated now.

It was arranged trip from the then owner, I believe its been sold on now. #History

Oxford Street is a major shopping street in the West End of London, England. It is located in the City of Westminster and runs for approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Tottenham Court Road in the east to Marble Arch in the west, where it meets Park Lane. Oxford Street is famous for its numerous department stores, high-end fashion retailers, and popular tourist attractions, such as Selfridges, John Lewis, and the flagship stores of many international brands. It is also a popular destination during the Christmas season, when the street is decorated with festive lights and displays.

Oxford Street is a major road in the City of Westminster in London, England. It is one of the busiest shopping streets in the world and is home to many well-known department stores and fashion brands. The street is approximately 1.5 miles long and runs from Tottenham Court Road in the east to Marble Arch in the west. It is known for its Christmas lights and decorations, which attract large crowds of shoppers and tourists each year. Some of the famous stores located on Oxford Street include Selfridges, John Lewis, and Marks & Spencer. The street is easily accessible by public transport, with several Underground stations located nearby, including Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road.

Here is a possible route you can take:
Start your walking tour at the eastern end of Oxford Street, near Tottenham Court Road Underground Station.

Walk westward along Oxford Street, passing by many popular retail stores such as Primark, H&M, and Topshop.

As you approach Oxford Circus, take a slight detour to the right to visit Carnaby Street, a famous pedestrian shopping street known for its independent fashion boutiques and cafes.

After exploring Carnaby Street, return to Oxford Street and continue westward. You'll pass by more well-known stores such as Zara, Nike, and Apple.

Just before you reach Marble Arch, turn left onto Duke Street to visit Selfridges, a historic department store that is popular among both locals and tourists.

After exploring Selfridges, return to Oxford Street and continue westward until you reach Marble Arch, a famous landmark that marks the western end of Oxford Street.

You can end your walking tour here or continue exploring the nearby area, which includes Hyde Park and Speaker's Corner.

This is just a suggested route, and you can modify it to suit your interests and preferences. Keep in mind that Oxford Street can be very busy, especially on weekends and holidays, so be prepared for crowds and watch out for pickpockets.
