Haslach im Kinzigtal
Lebendig. Liebenswert. Sehenswert. Verwinkelte Handwerkergassen, breite Marktstrassen, idyllische Plätze und jede Menge zu erleben. Haslach ist zwar schon eine sehr alte Stadt, aber das Leben und Angebot ist jung und quicklebendig. Mit fast 60 Fachgeschäften, Bistros, Cafes und Restaurants auf der Fläche der mittelalterlichen Altstadt, die gerade mal 300 Meter im Kreisdurchmesser der Stadtmauern aufweist, gilt Haslach bei Urlaubs- und Tagesgästen als Ausflugsziel der Extraklasse. 80% der Altstadt besteht aus fast ausschließlich barocken Fachwerkhäusern und so wundert es nicht, dass Haslach Mitglied der „Deutschen Fachwerkstraße“, der Elfenbeinliga deutscher Städte ist. Unbedingt auch einen Besuch wert ist das Schwarzwälder Trachtenmuseum, in dem 100 Originaltrachten in lebensnahen Szenen ausgestellt sind. Untergebracht ist es im Kapuzinerkloster, direkt neben der Tourist-Info. Auch die Stadtführungen in Haslach sind ein besonderes Erlebnis. Wer das Kinzigtal besucht, sollte auf gar keinen Fall das alte Marktstädtchen Haslach auslassen. Sehenswert sind die historische Altstadt mit einer Fülle bemerkenswerter Fachwerkgebäude (Mitglied der Deutschen Fachwerkstraße) und das alte Kapuzinerkloster mit dem Schwarzwälder Trachtenmuseum. Haslach liegt im Ortenaukreis (Ortenau) im mittleren Schwarzwald.

Haslach is a small city in south-west Germany, in the district Ortenaukreis, Baden-Württemberg. In 2010 it had a population of 7,010. Roman Age finds (pottery shards, stone altar, Roman grave relief) indicate the presence of a settlement here at the time of the construction of a military road through the Kinzig valley (about 74 A.D.). Archaeological finds indicate a Roman road station. The founding of the city itself should be Zähringer in origin, Haslach was from the Zahringer in the 11th century as a market town and center of the local silver mining industry. This function experienced an enormous boost during the reign of Fürstenberg (first mention of the place in 1240), Haslach was the seat of a mountain judge, who administrated 400 tunnels and shafts of the Kinzig valley. Haslach 1241 was registered in the Hohenstaufen imperial tax list with the comparatively high amount of 40 marks of silver, the elevation in the status of a city took place in 1278. After the decline of silver mining in the 16th century Haslach developed further as an official and market town. In the War of Spanish Succession, it was completely burned down in 1704. Oriented at the medieval town plan, the city then emerged relatively modern timber-framed buildings in southern-German, baroque Style. During the last month of World War II Haslach had three sub-camps of the concentration camp Natzweiler-Struthof at the volcano near the city. Reason for the establishment of the camp was the relocation of production of several arms factories in the bombproof tunnels of the mine Hartsteinwerke volcano. In the camp about 1,700 prisoners from 19 countries under excruciating conditions were forced into hard labor. Hundreds of prisoners did not survive their stay there. Many French citizens were deported to this camp for their crimes against the Germany Reich. Among these prisoners was Alexis Dechaux, a Catholic priest, who was pastor of his church in Héricourt, France. In 1944, Walter Menzel of the Gestapo arrested Father Dechaux, who was eventually deported to the camp at Haslach, where he remained until being liberated in 1945. While there, he devoted his time to helping many unfortunate and dying camp prisoners by giving them spiritual comfort, smuggling in extra bread, and giving them solace and courage. He himself was tortured by the camp administration, made fun of because he wore his priestly cassock, and was marked for death more than once. However, due to his fortitude and strong will to live, he was able to survive the camp and return to his beloved parish where he was received with open arms and great fanfare. The site of the former World War II underground factory[clarification needed] at Haslach was used for an explosive seismic test in 1948.In 1998 the Memorial volcano was dedicated in memory of this time.

Villingen-Schwenningen is a city located in Germany in the southwest of the Land of Baden-Württemberg. With around 81,000 inhabitants, the municipality is the largest in the Black Forest-Baar district.
The particularity of the city lies in the fact that it consists of two entities corresponding to two formerly independent towns, namely Villingen and Schwenningen. The two former municipalities merged in 1972 to become Villingen-Schwenningen. Another particularity is geographical: between the two old towns less than 5 kilometers apart, runs along a north-south axis the watershed between the North Sea (to the north) and the Black Sea (to the east).

ROBANCA TRAVELOGUES: Picturesque Black Forest. A driving tour of the Black Forest in southern Germany, firstly staying at Titisee in the south, from where we visit Triberg and it's waterfalls, Waldkirch and the city of Freiburg. We then visit the nearby Lake Schluchsee, Altglashutten, Lenzkirch and Loffingen. Travelling north, we then pass through St Margen, St Peter and Haslach, before reaching our second base in the north of the Forest at Durbach. From here we visit the towns of Offenburg, Hausach, and Villingen, and the lovely villages of Gengenbach and Schiltach.

On Tuesday 22 August 2023, I was in Haslach a place in the Black Forest in Germany.
Attached you can see the first part of a triptych about this place.
As you will notice, the videos are a bit shorter, than you are used to from me, because in the hotel where I was, the wifi was quite weak, which made uploading large files difficult. I will post several videos in a day, though.

Am Dienstag, den 22. August 2023, war ich in Haslach, einem Ort im Schwarzwald in Deutschland.
Anbei könnt ihr den ersten Teil eines Triptychons über diesen Ort sehen.
Wie Sie feststellen werden, sind die Videos etwas kürzer, als Sie es von mir gewohnt sind, denn in dem Hotel, in dem ich war, war das WLAN ziemlich schwach, was das Hochladen großer Dateien schwierig machte. Ich werde aber mehrere Videos an einem Tag posten.

Le mardi 22 août 2023, je me trouvais à Haslach, une localité de la Forêt Noire en Allemagne.
Vous trouverez ci-joint la première partie d'un triptyque sur cet endroit.
Comme vous le remarquerez, les vidéos sont un peu plus courtes que ce à quoi je vous ai habitué, parce que dans l'hôtel où j'étais, le wifi était assez faible, ce qui rendait le téléchargement de gros fichiers difficile. Je publierai cependant plusieurs vidéos par jour.

Como notarán, los videos son un poco más cortos, de lo que están acostumbrados de mi parte, porque en el hotel donde estuve, el wifi era bastante débil, lo que dificultaba subir archivos grandes. No obstante, publicaré varios vídeos al día.

Op dinsdag 22 augustus 2023 was ik in Haslach een plaats in het Zwarte Woud in Duitsland.
Bijgaand ziet u het eerste deel van een drieluik over deze plaats.
Zoals u zult merken, zijn de video's wat korter, dan u van mij gewend bent, want in het hotel waar ik was was de wifi vrij zwak, waardoor grote bestanden uploaden moeilijk werd. Ik zal wel meerdere filmpjes op een dag plaatsen.
