The South West Coast Path follows the coastline, taking in the towering cliffs of the northern Exmoor Coast and rock formations on the fossil-rich southern Jurassic Coast.

If you’re thinking of moving to New Brunswick but have not yet committed to the decision, we would like to present the following 10 cool and unusual things you can do in New Brunswick that may make your choice easier.

Hopewell Cape

Hopewell Rocks is a series of gigantic tidal rock formations along Hopewell Cape. The formations were carved over thousands of years into their present geometric shapes.

Moncton, Magnetic Hill

Magnetic Hill in Moncton is one of the most unusual places not only in the province of New Brunswick but in Canada as a whole. For over 80 years it has baffled the local residents.

Hartland Bridge, New Brunswick

Hartland Bridge is a covered wooden bridge in the town of hartland. Completely made out of wood and at a length of 1,282 feet it is known as the world’s longest covered bridge and also renowned for its quaint beauty.

Reversing Falls

In a spot of the Fundy in St John, New Brunswick lies the majestic Reversing Falls. The falls are under the influence of the immense power of the local tides which cause them to change the course of the waters multiple times per day.

World’s Largest Lobster

In the quaint small town of Shediac, New Brunswick, lies a fiberglass, steel and concrete structure skillfully shaped into the form of a gigantic lobster. The lobster stands sentry over its location within the town and was installed as means to commemorate the popular moniker given to the town of, “Lobster Capital of the World”.

Ministers Island

In Saint Andrews, New Brunswick, there is an island across the narrow strip of bay that offers roadside visitors an opportunity to drive across the ocean floor. During low tide the waters recede to such a high degree that a thin piece of slab of the ocean floor appears.

Nackawic, New Brunswick

In the town of Nackawic, New Brunswick, lies an ax that has a bladed haft is half-way buried into the surrounding tiered stone plinth. With a shaft that rises about 50 feet into the air and made of 50 tons of solid steel, the ax is popularly known as the largest ax in the world.

Partridge Island Quarantine Site

During the 19th century, at the height of the great Irish migration to the New World resulting from the potato famine, a lot of Irish immigrants who came to Canada and landed across Atlantic Canada would have made the first landfall at Saint John, New Brunswick.

Campobello Island

Situated close to the U.S. state of Maine lies Campobello Island. At the exact distance of a quarter mile from the tip of the state of Maine is Welshpool which rests on the international border but also crosses right through a time zone.

Mount Carleton

At a height of 817 meters (2,680 feet) Mount Carleton towers over the surrounding New Brunswick countryside. Mount Carleton is a peak within the Notre Dame Mountains, which is itself a range within the Appalachian mountains which run from the Green Mountains to Vermont.

What is Fine Art Landscape Photography? | Hartland Quay

What is fine art photography? I look at that question in the photo vlog today at Hartland Quay.
For my landscape photography, follow me on Instagram at @brendanvanson.
After my photography trip ended a couple days ago, my string of assignments is basically over for a bit. So, I wanted to go out and do some me trips. I especially wanted to do a road trip out to Cornall to do some shooting.
I stopped at Hartland Quay to do some fine art landscape photography just before arriving in Cornwall. It such a cool spot, and a great place to talk about the difference between fine art photography and travel photography.
Essentailly, fine art photography is when you're trying to sell the image as art. Travel photography is when you're trying to use the photo to sell the destination or experience. At Hartland Quay, I shot the former. And, though I'm a travel photographer by trade it was fun to shoot some fine art photography for a change.
Hartland Quay really is a cool place. And though I didn't get good light, it's the type of seascape that I think you could basically photograph in any light and it looks cool. It's nature alone that looks like art.
For this fine art landscape photography tutorial, I kind of focused on simplifying my shots. I even flipped some stuff to black and white which I really rarely do. But, it was so fitting at Hartland Quay.
Tomorrow on the photography channel, I head into Cornwall for a day full of landscape photography. I'm planning on hitting some cool spots. So, hopefully the light cooperates.

Worst RV Campground Ever // (And How we Saved our Weekend!)

***SHADY GROVE CAMPGROUND, DENVER PA***

One of our biggest camping fears came to life this past weekend as we pulled into possibly the worlds worst RV campground. While the spots were tight, the sewer connections were not and we found ourselves in a bad camping situation pretty quickly.

After a confusing run in with some of the seasonal campers, we decided it wasn't worth the stress we had to save our weekend - and in this case we only had one option. To hook our Shadow Cruiser Travel Trailer back up and head home.

Currently holding the record for our shortest camping trip (19 hours between check in and check out) it taught us a lot about vetting campgrounds, when to call it quits, and what red flags to look out for when looking for a place to camp with our travel trailer.

Exploring New Brunswick - Maritime Road Trip Day 2

This is Day 2 of our 9-day road trip through the Canadian Maritimes in August 2019.

Leaving Edmundston, on the border with Maine, we're met with some rather beautiful morning fog. As we crest a hill, the cloud-covered Appalachians come into view. The day's destination is Moncton, New Brunswick's largest city, and where several of the province's attractions are concentrated. Along the way, we stop by the world's longest covered bridge in Hartland, and also bypass the capital, Fredericton. Arriving in Moncton, we visit Magnetic Hill (an optical illusion), then nearby Shediac, a fishing town dubbed the lobster capital of the world. The final stop is the Hopewell Rocks, an iconic rock formation shaped by the tides in the Bay of Fundy. Stay tuned for Day 3, when we cross into Prince Edward Island!
